Jel-lo nodded taking the thermos and headed after Joey. He had the biggest urge to just reach out and grab the blonde's hand, but he wouldn't. Years of being invisible had left him unable to act on even his most primal instinct without thinking first. But, oh how he would have liked to hold Joey's hand.

Joey walked to the check-out counter, waiting in line. He looked at Jel-lo out of the corner of his eye. "Look, Jel. I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable..." he began. "I wasn't coming on to you or anything, I just--" He ran his hands through his hair.

Jel-lo shook his head virourously causing long purple lock to whip around him. "N-no, I'm not uncomfortable. I'm fine." It was because he was so comfortable with Joey that he was nervous. Every second longer he spent in the blonde's presence, he knew that he was his mate.

The line moved slowly, and Joey bit his lip a bit. "Yet you're stuttering." he sighed.
He gently took the thermos from him and paid for it, handing the purple canister back to Jel. "Come on, we can hail a taxi from here." he said, pulling the boy after him.

Jel-lo willingly fallowed. He couldn't help it if he was stuttering. He hadn't expected to find his mate so soon.
Once outside, Jel-lo stopped. There was something he had to ask. It really had nothing to do with anything that had been said before, but Jel-lo felt that if he didn't get an answer the pain in his chest would just get worst. So, with the most innocent expression he could muster in the softest of voice to where maybe Joey might not hear it, Jel-lo asked,"Joey, do you have a lover?"

Oh, he heard it alright. Joey blinked, stopping dead in his tracks and turned back to the boy. Jel-lo was looking at him with the most innocent expresion. Joey sighed, he knew he was in trouble now, he couldn't resist the kid when he looked like that.
"Um, no...no I don't." he said. "Why do you ask?" he wondered, drawing his lip into his mouth, a habit he picked up from Ocean.

Jel-lo shrugged. "Just curious."
It was like a weight was lifted from his shoulders. He was thankful that if Joey was truly his mate that he wouldn't be stilling him from someone else. He had seen it happen before and it seemed so sad.

Joey blinked, confused as he hailed a taxi. Getting in, he directed the driver back to the Vanilla Rose. "Can you make it home from there?" he asked, looking at Jel.

Again Jel-lo shrugged. "Sure." However, he wasn't planning to go home just yet. He was sure his brothers would understand. Sighing, he laid his head against the class of the taxi. This was going to be a long night.

Joey sighed, looking at Jel. "Hey, Marco, stop here, will ya?" he asked, and paid the cabbie as he got out, opening Jel's door and pulling him out.
"Follow me." he said, pulling the other boy by the hand.

Jel-lo stared at the hand clasping his. Somehwhere inside of him he felt proud that he'd gotten the other to hold his hand. There was a warm feeling stretching up his arm from that hand and he let the smile that tugged on his face show.

Joey gently pulled off of the sidewalk and down onto a worn dirt road. From there they followed a mountain path that wound around through the trees. He said nothing until they broke through the treeline and into view of a huge, fantastic lake.
Pulling Jel closer to him, he looked out over the dark ice. "I think we should talk about this--whatever we have."

Jel-lo nodded. "Yes, we'll talk."
It seemed Joey really was feeling the same, and since Jel-lo was the foreigner here he felt he should be the one to start. First, what would be he easiest thing to start with.
"You're my mate."

"Mate?" Joey asked, confused. "Like animal mate?" he blinked.

"Y-yes, like animal mate," Jel-lo answered. He was starting to get nervous again. "I-I'm not from here, and where I come from we have mates."
