Joey helped slide the ring onto Jel's finger, where it fit against his finger like it was made for it. "Consider it an engagement ring." Joey grinned.

Jel-lo blushed. He knew what engagements and marriages were on earth, and he felt that with his planet's traditions they were more like already married, but he still though it a sweet though and smiled up at Joey.

Joey grinned and the family all cheered before continuing to enjoy their Christmas Eve morning.

"C'mon y'all. It's almost time for the parade!" Lena squealed as she stood and raced to her room. Damen just laughed, and helped Maria up, who was still gushing over her new diamond ring. She and Damen were soon to be married as well.

As they walked, Jel-lo made sure to take Joey's hand in his. It would seem that the Christmas Spirit was starting to get to him and the little purple haired Zercan was beginning to ease up some.

The family all piled into the car after they had dressed and drove downtown where already there was people lined up for blocks. The parade had just started.

Jel-lo stayed close to Joey clad in the fluffy coat Joey'd let him barrow a couple days previously. His eyes kept floating to the ring and he would smiling lightly to himself before getting nervous with the crowd around him.

THe parade made it's way down the street, people laying music and laughing and waving as the marvellous floats passed by, Joey hoisted Jel up on his shoulders so he could see.

Jel-lo was a bit surprised by being hoisted up and felt like a little kid, but soon he was smiling at waving at the floats too, though in a much shyer matter.
