"Hey!" Kayan protested, scowling at Light but not slipping off the bed. "I'm not an invalid so don’t treat me like one!" He kept his tone rough, wary to show any from of weakness. His eyes drifted closed once more, his weary muscles relaxing into the bed. Too tired to protest any further Kayan drifted off to sleep, for some strange reason all too comfortable in the presence of Light.
The sun was well on it's way down when Kayan next woke, sliding out of bed and heading into the bathroom, completely forgetting about Light's presence and ignoring the hunger pangs and pain of his own body. Kayan sunk down onto the toilet seat, leaving the door to the bathroom open. He reached up into the tiny medicine cabinet removing makeup. He pulled his pyjama top off, frowning at some of the bandages and peeled those off too. He then began to conceal the cuts and bruises doing a rather professional job of it. Or at least the ones he could see and reach that is.
He stared down at his pants for a moment scowling before shrugging and putting the top back on. It wasn’t as if his customers would really care. That decided, he started on his face. Once the bruises were concealed Kayan began to line his eyes in black adding a faint trace of silver to his lids, knowing it brought out his eyes and made him more appealing. He rubbed a smidgen of lip-gloss on his lips before rising to fetch the some clothes. Fortunately for him he had a clean pair owning tow pair of what he considered 'work' clothes. The second consisted of skin tight silver pants flaring just a hint at the knee so that they only clung to his upper body and a tight string laced shirt of the deepest midnight. This outfit fully revealed his tattoo, a silhouette of a wolf howling at the moon, resting on his lower back.

Light had stayed up most of the rest of the day, just watching Kayan sleep. His face was angelic when he slept-peaceful and calm. There was no sign of weariness, none of pain. Just him, as he was. He'd only dozed once and woken when he'd half fallen on the boy. That wouldn't have done. He sat back up and curled his feet to his chest, watching how the sun started descending to the hills and buildings that met it. It was beautiful how it streaked the sky with colors-much like paint. A stirring on the bed caught his attention and he turned to tell the boy to go back to sleep but Kayan was already up, and sliding off the bed past him. It was if he were forgotten, as if the boy hadn't even remembered he'd brought him home.
He watched with fascinated emerald eyes as Kayan went into the bathroom and changed. What confused him was how he pulled of the bandages and then made his wounds disappear.....maybe he was a healer? Light caught sight of the makeup then and hissed. So that was how. He was going to go out injured and procure up more punishment? Not. Light had not been kidding. Not one other man was going to touch this boy now.
Light stood and stretched his robed body. He was in no hurry as the boy didn't seem to be. Silently he moved until he was in the bathroom doorway, arms on the door jams, blocking any path Kayan might take since he was taller. The lipgloss made the boys lips shine and drew Lights attention for a second before he pulled back. Kayan did not need him trying to claim him right now. He needed to understand just what Light could offer him. Light opened his mouth to speak, his eyes turning towards the tub. He saw the darkness of something on the others lower back and intead fixated on that. It was some sort of animal. The animal was howling at the moon and lead his gaze back up Kayan's lithe body. He sighed and rubbed at his eyes. "Where are you going? Is it out with those men again? I'm sorry Kayan, I can't let you do that. You're still hurt and from now on no man will touch you and hurt you the way they've done." Short and blunt. A dominant life-giver had to be strict when dealing with an unclaimed mate. As of yet, the boy had no tie to him, but when he did he'd know when they were displeasing eachother. He didn't know what to expect. Was the boy going to sigh in relief and go back to bed, or fight him for the right to go out with other men. That made his stomach queasy with butterflies. He wouln't be able to hold the other off forever. If he so pleased, the boy could kick him out of this house right now and have him on his way. It was some sort of Earth custom or....something...
((i won't be on today T~T My mom's taking us swimming all day...Sorry!))

Kayan turned to leave only to pause, glaring at the obstacle in his way, suddenly remembering his ‘guest’. He narrowed his eyes in displeasure at Light’s words and the manner in which Light attempted to block his path. What Light neglected to realize was that there was an alternative to just barging into him. An alternative, Kayan’s tiny slim body was perfectly built for. Ducking his head, Kayan slipped out the bathroom using the space between Light’s body and the doorframe. A tiny space that had been widened when Light had withdrawn slightly from him. Kayan made his way into the main room, grabbing his keys as he headed straight out the front door.
“What I do and who I go out with is none of your concern. You don’t own me and neither are you anyone that can command my actions to me. I just met you. Furthermore, if you intend to eat while remaining here, I am required to go out as I am currently broke. I have bills to pay.” Kayan informed Light, his voice cold and emotionless, hiding the shame he felt for having to do what he did in order to survive. Shame further compounded by Light’s knowledge and objections. Kayan glared at Light, hating the deep inner desire to obey Light’s command, for that was what it had been. A command, not a request. A command, he felt… that he was required to obey. He didn’t know how he knew this… he just did. He fueled his anger to break past the desire to give in and obey, turned and stormed out the apartment, down the stairs and onto the street without a single backward glance. Fighting both himself and the emerald eyes that seemed to be seared into his brain.

He watched the door for a matter of a few seconds...or had it been minutes? He wasn't sure. It felt like he'd had a bucket of ice spilled down the back of his robes. The boys disobedience disappointed him. Kayan was supposed to be feeling what he was. He wasn't supposed to be able to just walk away like he'd done. The sensaforian grunted his anger and made for the door to go after Kayan. He had more than enough money to support him. He'd give it all to him if that's what the boy required. Not that he'd buy his affections. That was shallow. Light wanted Kayan to like him for him, not for his money. He bolted down the stairs on his aching feet, wincing and hissing as he made it to the street. He caught sigh tof the boy disappearing down the street and tried to catch up, jaw gritted against the unfarmiliar stinging in his leg muscles. If Kayan was going to go out he'd be there to, to scare off any nusances that tried to claim his mate. Were they going to that corner from the night before? If so, he'd be able to find his ship from there.
Light tried to avoid rocks on his bare feet and moved silently, his body agile enough that he caught up rather quickly. "You may be broke but I am not. I have more than enough money to compensate for your kindness. He stepped in front of the boy, successfully stalling him for a minute. He reached into his robes, fingers untying a pouch on his side. It was filled with currency from all planets. He opened and dug inside, hand closing around a wad of bills wrapped in twine. He took Kayans hand and dropped the cash there. "Buy food, pay your bills, get whatever you want. You don't need people to beat you and hurt you...you don't deserve that." His eyes softened as he moved to replace the pouch. He wanted to pick him up and take him to his ship, steal him away, and if he didn't accept his money then that's exactly what he was going to do. There was only so much to his good mood. The accidents effects didn't allow him to stay happy for long. Trying to figure out Kayan and find the perfect chance to tell him what he was, was already triring him out. "Don't even bother trying to give it back because of pride. Use it how you will, i won't need it after i'm gone so...." He neglected to tell Kayan he'd be coming with him.
Even if he didn't like to admit it, he was selfish. He didn't remember anything before a year ago and was looking to make memories. The midnight eyed boy with silky hair drew his attention like a flame. He wanted to make him the most important thing in his life. Light self conciously picked at the hem of his sleeve, the dark blue of his sunburn hurting a bit as he tried to see the boys expression in the failing light.

Kayan narrowed his eyes, dropping the money back into the bag without even glancing at it and stalking off once more, back stiff. “I don’t take charity.” He stated coldly. “Go find someone else to feel sorry for. I don’t need your pity.” If there was one thing that Kayan hated with a passion it was pity. He had, had more than enough for his lifetime and had found it to be a demeaning experience. Was he really so pathetic that he stirred nothing but pity in others? Too weak to ever take care of himself? Needing someone else to take care of him? Yeah right? He’d been alone for years, and was still alive, proving something at least… However, as much as he wanted to deny the notion, a part of him that refused to lie informed him that yes… he was that weak. Look how well he had done at taking care of himself thus far. Just look at what he had resorted to doing just to have food to eat. He had demeaned himself more than anyone else or their pity had, and torn his very soul apart in order to obtain enough just to get by.
His shoulders slumped with the realisation, depression coursing through him as he continued to make his way to the corner he had stood at the previous night, pausing just outside the reach of the bright light, afraid to encounter the man from the pervious night once again. Taking a deep breath and steeling himself, Kayan walked forward, unable to prevent his wince as the light touched upon his features, the light symbolising some really bad memories.
He stood stiffly, knowing full well that Light had followed him, waiting for the other to catch up. Light could say what he would. That still wouldn’t prevent Kayan from doing what he had to. He had been doing this for years… had managed to survive over eight years on the street and he be damned if he showed weakness now. He knew what he was. He knew he was tainted but it was already too late. No matter how much money Light offered him, it would never be able to buy back his innocence. So what was the point? Kayan had no more to lose.

Light glared at the money in his hand and roughly shoved it into his robes. He'd give it to the other later. Sighing he continued, following quietly as the boy lead him back to the corner. This was where he had first saw him, looked into his midnight eyes and felt that jolt of realization. He stayed in the dark, leaning against the lightpole. If anyone dared pull up he was going to drive them away. He really wanted to go to his ship so he knew where it was, maybe take Kayan there and explain to him everything. Yes, that sounded like a good plan. But the boy was intent on doing this....'job'. Not a job for a life-bearer to be doing. He was going to damage himself and although Light didn't worry about kits as much as he did the welfare of his unclaimed mate, he would still like to have a family. Something he and his mate could create together.
The sensaforian studied Kayan with emerald eyes, hating the way the light would fall on him and accent every part about him, lighting him like a toy for others to come and play with. He wasn't a toy. He was a beautiful human that deserved to be happy now. Light wondered how many scars he would find dotting the boys body-assuming Kayan would believe him and not try to put him in the looney bin- and how well they would match the map of dark blue bruises and scars on his back and right thigh. He watched as cars wizzed by, some slowing ever so slightly before continuing on their way. He glared and hoped to Zerca that the next one would stop so he would have someone to tell off before he drug his stubborn mate to his ship.

Kayan remained tense, feeling Light’s stare on him and swearing he could feel every breath Light took. Why was the other staying out of sight? He had expected Light to follow him into the false light of the lamp and proceed to reprimand him. He knew the other was extremely displeased. He had expected as much but why stand out there in the shadows ‘staring’ at him. It was making Kayan decidedly uncomfortable, not allowing him to relax into his seductive role as he usually would.
Gritting his teeth Kayan forced his body to relax, to take on the seductive movement he had taken so many years to learn and master. Finally, one of the cars slowed. Kayan sighed in relief when he noticed that it was not the man from before. He didn’t think he could do that again. In fact, it wasn’t a man at all but a woman. One who, if he remembered correctly tended to be rather gentle, simply seeking companionship and comfort, if a little physical who was to blame her in those circumstances, away from a husband who sorely neglected her. His relief was so great that he could taste it. Kayan smiled and sauntered over to the car, nodding as he automatically walked around. Nothing needed to be said with her, he knew what she wanted. He opened the passenger door, sliding into the car and bowing his head as he greeted her. “My lady.” He then moved to close the door…

Light watched the car pull up. It was a woman and a deep pain coursed through him when Kayan went to get in. So he didn't feel it. If he had felt the way he did then he wouldn't be able to do it. Light had been working on the theory that he'd tell of the next person, practically drag Kayan away but what was the use when the other didn't feel anything for him. He was just something to be taken care of until he was able to get up and leave. And his...his mate was able to get in to any car that came along, with any other person and just drive away from him. That wasn't how it was supposed to be. Kayan was supposed to be in pain if he displeased him so....Had he got it wrong? Had he just felt something for this boy because he was an empath and he had been in pain?
He finally moved from the dark before Kayan could close the door, slipped around the car and stopped it's closure with his hand. He stared at him, feeling that twinge of pain again before cutting it off. Kayan wanted nothing to do with him. He was going to leave him here while he went out with this woman. He fished the money back out of his robe and tossed it on the boys lap. "I told you to take this so you wouldn't have to do this anymore. Here, i don't want it. You go ahead and pay your bills and think of me when you do it," he smiled thinly and let the door go, blinking as it closed. He met those midnight eyes one last time before he turned and hurried back into the shadows on the sidewalk, moving towards his ship. So much for being selfish and dragging the boy away. He couldn't find it in himself to do it with that woman there. Her eyes were so sad and he didn't want to scare her so......
Sighing, trying to rub away the throbbing in his chest, he pulled his hands up into the sleeves of his robes and turned into the small park that hid his ship from view.
((Geez he's a complicated character....you know how you don't know which direction they're going to take when you write? Yeah, Lights doing that...he wouldn't pull Kayan from the car T~T))

Kayan blinked, jerking when Light threw the money into his lap. He stared deeply into the others emerald eyes, pain coursing through him at the deep soul wrenching pain he could see there. He gasped, suddenly unable to breathe when Light slammed the door closed and walked away. His hand flew up to his chest, his face paled and he could have sworn someone had just torn his heart from his chest.
He blinked in surprise when he felt a gentle touch settle upon his knee, looking up into the worried gaze of what was supposed to be his client. "Go." She stated softly, continuing when she was met with his confused gaze. "Go, after him. He obviously cares for you and doesn't want you to be doing this. Quite frankly... you don't want to be doing this either. You should have given this up long ago. " She added. "I've known that for a long time."
She reached into her purse to extract a small wad of notes and added it to the pile Light had already given Kayan. "Here, take this, with my thanks..." When Kayan moved to protest, she shook her head. "No, you more than deserve this... Now, my last request to you... Go after him." Kayan's eyes widened silent tears falling down his face. He bowed his head, knowing she would accept no more before stumbling out the car, watching her drive away. Once her car was out of sight Kayan turned and blindly ran into a random direction, having no idea which way Light had gone but trusting some deep inner instinct. He was running with his eyes dropped to the ground, shoulders shaking with the restrained sobs.

Light stared up at the trees, sillouhetted in the darkness against the sky. The sky that looked so much like Kayans eyes. He couldn't tear his eyes away and stayed rooted on the spot. Something inside was telling him he had just made the biggest mistake of his life-even if he could remember most of it. He'd just walked away from the one person he'd yearned for since he could understand what a mate was. Humming his pain he finally forced himself to look away from the star strewn sky, locking his eyes on the ground. He noticed his bare feet and cursed. He'd forgotten his slippers back at Kayans house. Too bad, he couldn't find his way back now, nor did he want to be there when the boy came back. He sighed and once again rubbed at his chest, hands wiping over his thighs.
His ship was sitting there, waiting for him to get on and ride away from here. That's what he was supposed to do. He'd eaten, he'd stayed in a bed-even if he hadn't slept in it, and he'd interacted with the life forms here. What more did the heavens expect from him? For him to turn around and find Kayan, that was what. Light clenched his jaw and stood, in debate. Stay here and look like a fool, or go away and look like an even bigger fool while he tried to get by. He knew once one found their mate, they would be miserable if the other was not by their side. He was willing to be miserable if Kayan didn't want him. Kicking at a weed he looked back on the city, trying to pick out the buildings in among the lights. Kayans house was out there somewhere and he found himself trying to look for it in vain, knowing all the while that he'd never find it with it being so dark. The sensaforian stayed where he was for a few more minutes, shoulders dropping before he turned and started into the brush.

Kayan suddenly bumped into a hard obstacle. A hard obstacle that turned out to be a rather warm body. Kayan glanced up, eyes wide and uncertain, seeinf Light before him. How had he managed to get here? How had he managed to find the other in what appeared to be an area outside of town, deep in the underbrush. Kayan hadn't even noticed that he had entered the bushes, nor the bruises caused by the whiplash of shrubbery as he dashed past as if he were being chased by a madman. Maybe he was, only... he suspected the madman, was within himself and was simply another facet of himself that he either refused to acknowledge or didn't know about. How else was one to explain his mad dash after Light as well as the uneering sense of direction as to where Light's whereabouts that he had managed to somehow mysteriously and completely against his will managed to acquire... not to even mention the sheer feeling of being a moth hypnotised by a beautiful flame... my light... Light, now wasn't that ironic?
Kayan stared at Light in silence, shifting awkwardly as he waited fro the other to respond. Light probably thought he was a madman, a raving lunatic to just dash after him like that. Kayan was beginning to suspect that he would be right in that assumption. Kayan no longer understood himself, let alone his reactions as of late. He guessed he must have finally broken, finally lost himself. Was about time, he figured. Only why was it that he could watch his own insanity and yet remained unable to do anything about it?

"Kayan?" Light had to reach out and touch the others face to make sure that was who it was. His fingers skimmed over and he knew instantly that he was right, especially by the eyes that were watching him and the feel of the warm body close to his own. Kayan was shifting around and he suddely found himself smiling at how lost he seemed to be.
"Hello there....I thought you were leaving me.....leaving," he corrected himself. They hadn't been together so there was no way Kayan could leave him per se. He watched the little life-bearer with dancing emerald eyes, the hurt lifted from his body-not that he noticed. Kayan was standing too close for him to notice something like that. His attention was solely riveted on the other instead, trying to search his eyes.

"I..." Kayan shifted some more, uncertain of what to say or do now that he was once more confronted with Light. He couldn't understand this. Didn't know what was making him behave the way he did. It didn't make any sense. Why had he run after Light. Mari, his customer that had pushed him to chase after Light, had told him that Light cared for him. How could that be possible? Light had only met him the previous evening. Yet... Kayan could not deny the pull he felt, drawing him towards the other, hurting him when he hurt the other. Kayan had never felt anything of the like, not that he remembered anyway... He had been too long on the streets. Learnt too much about the harsh realities of life to allow himself to even remotely dream the dreams he had read in fiction.
Kayan swallowed nervously, licking his suddenly all too dry lips befpre continuing. "She told me to come after you." He finally admitted, head hunging down as to avoid Light's gaze and possible accusation within those emerald eyes. "I didn't know which way you had gone." Kayan shrugged, shuffling with his feet and absently following the randome patterns with his eyes before finally contining. "Why?" He whispered, somehow knowing the other would know what he meant. Why did the other care what he did? Why had the other left him? Damn, why had he even expected the other to stop him? It was his life, wasn't it? He'd been doing this for years, why should it make a difference now? Why were they drawn together? Why, why, why?

Why indeed. Light stood silent, motionless for a moment, eyes closed as that voice ran through him. It had been a whisper, barely above the wind that passed around them. Yes, why. He didn't know why he had been set down in this Earth, especially when his ship looked to be in working order now. He didn't know why he had suddenly come to find the boy on the street corner, nor why he could look in those beautiful eyes and completely lose himself. Light didn't know why he wanted to be so gentle with the other when barely a month ago he'd told his father off and left. He just did, and that was it. Sighing he watched that bent head of hair, smiling softly. Ever so gently, slowly he lifted the others chin.
"I don't care if she told you to come. Maybe she saw something we couldn't quite grasp. I'm going to tell you something very important Kayan and I want you to try to just listen. Don't count it as illusion until you know it all." The others gaze was on him now so he didn't need to keep his hand there but it felt too right. He stroked a soft cheek on impulse for a second before dropping his hand and rubbing through his own silver locks. "As you've probably already guessed i'm not exactly from here. Well there you would be right. However, what you haven't guessed is that i'm not even from this world." A disbelieveing look and a small snort were his answers.
"Truth be told I'm from a planet in a close solar system called Sensaforia. There are other planets there too: Zerca, Jeskara, Prasidion, Parinenai, Mentsiquar and...a few others. Earth is sort of a backwater thing for us but....I landed here last night-unplanned, confused. Often fate works in wierd ways. Our kind believes that every single person has a life mate-the other half of their broken soul. Once you find that person you know it as a....I don't know, and intuition, a.....just something. That's what I felt with you....Kayan....I believe you are my life mate, the other half of my soul. That's why I was willing to let you go if you didn't want me. That's why i don't approve of others touching what's....well what should be mine." He bit his lip until it bled blue under the skin, waiting for the other to call him crazy or perhaps run away again. After all, people on this planet knew not of the others. They didn't believe, did they?

Kayan shook his head, disbelieving of what he was told. What the hell was going on? Aliens? Okay... it was official, he had lost his mind. Either that or his customer had beaten him sensless and he was in a coma dreaming delusional dreams. Kayan paled, taking one step away from Light, staring up at him with deeply terrified eyes. "I'm dying?" He whispered, a semi hysterical lugh escaping him. "Go figure. What a way to die... Beaten sensless from whoring yourself out. Rather respectable, don't you think?" Kayan buried his face in his hands, midnight strands falling into his face. "But why are my delusions so strange. If I have lost reality why couldn't it be to find my lost memory... my mother..." He whispered, the longing deepo in his voice. He longed to remember his mother... even the slightest glimmer of a memory but that was long gone. All he remembered was the street. For all he knew, he might never even have had a mother to begin with.
He shook his head... "But why am I asking you?" Kayan sank down to the ground trembling. Trembling because he knew that deep inside he believed Light, believed he was sane. this was happening and that Light spoke the truth and it was that belief that shook him the most. It was almost as if he 'knew' that it was true, almost as if the fact had always been in his blood and the reason for his disatisfaction with his life. Almost as if he had simply been waiting for confirmation. Suddenly he groaned, unable to ignore the feeling and conviction withing himself any longer. "I'm not dreaming, am I?" And that statement terrified him more than anything that had happened to him up to date. How could he accept such insantiy so easily? How could he? What WAS he? Why was he so drawn to this stranger? Why did he feel as if he could let no other touch him when he had made it his job? True, he had never liked it, never gotten used to it but never had the thought of dooing so been as difficult as the thought was now. He glanced up at Light once more, confusion in his midnight eyes, silver misting the usually clear blue colour of the orbs.
