The ‘Rainy Season’ would be over in a matter of days, Kheiji mused to himself. It was unfortunate, because he was quite fond of Kyoto; the whole country really. With a soft sigh, he simultaneously stood up and drained the remains of tea in the cup. Nodding to the server on his way out into the peaceful drizzle. Maybe tomorrow he’d leave this planet for another. Lenorit had odd weather this time of year; maybe he’d get lucky and it would be a rain season. Or maybe Avaerla…
Sighing to himself, the current dark haired male walked down the streets, muttering soft greetings when appropriate. He could stay on the planet, but there was only so much he could take in of the toxins at once before his lungs started hurting. Pity, as he loved the planet.
Reaching the Villa's garden entrance, he showed the guards the laminated pass he carried and was allowed inside with a quick calling. Kheiji sighed, quickly navigating through the well-maintained growth to a small-secluded area warded off with various ofuda, kneeling on the wooden walkway alongside the rock garden to stare out at the patterns being hit by water.
Quickly checking to make sure that the all the ofuda were in place, he nodded to himself and stepped gently on the rocks, his feet leaving no imprint as he made his way unhurriedly towards the center rock. Become One with the Rock… The principles were running through his mind, and, with a small smile, he mentally tapped the rocks essence, adding his own to it. Throwing his shapshifting abilities into it, Kheji melded into the rock and settled himself into the pattern of the rocks.
--
Hours later Kheiji brought himself out of the meditation, feeling a (only) vague amusement at the fact that his thought pattern was still with the ever-standing rocks. Gently making his way back to the walk, he stretched out his back in weariness at feeling the fleshy muscles.
That was what always annoyed him, physically, about becoming a rock. With plant life, water, and air, he could maneuver himself to a degree, but rock is a standing, always steady being. Sighing softly, and making sure that his hair color didn't revert to his humanoid type color, he walked out of the protected area.

Lindir walked around the garden slowly. He had left his band mates to wander around himself a few minutes ago. Somehow, his manager had managed for them to get into the Villa's garden. At first he had been dissapointed, and a little annoyed. Surely there must be a lot of tourist and people there. It was a garden, people liked gardens. He didn't want to be around people that could by chance know who he was. Just because he was on tour didn't mean he wanted to be around his fans all the time. Not that he didn't want to see his fans... it's just he did like alone time once in awhile.
And it seemed like he was proven wrong, and these gardens were the perfect place for that! There weren't a lot of people, it seemed you needed reservations and everything to get in. It was very beautiful, too. If he could write lyrics, he would like to write a song about this place.
Lindir tugged on his dark green sweatshirt idly. He was approaching a small clearing... thing surrounded by peices of paper with strange writing on them(because that's what ofuda is, not plants! Thanks Kheiji ^_^). The brunette froze when he stepped by a little space in the paper. 'Did that rock... just turn into... a guy?' he thought in horror. 'Ohmygosh! The rocks are out to get us!' he thought fearfully. He rubbed his eyes. 'Phew, he must have just been a-'
"Ah!" he screamed unintentionally. The man was walking down the path! The guy turned to him. "Eek! I'm sorry, please don't hurt me mister rock!" he pleaded, knealing on the ground and trying to look pitiful so the rock wouldn't eat him, or turn him into a rock or something else horrible. "I didn't mean to scream! I won't tell anyone about the rock rebellion," he continued telling him all things he would or wouldn't do, not making any sense at all.

Kheiji was alternatively horrified and amused. The kid was blasting him with images of himself transforming into a rock and eating him, rallying the rocks, or some alternate style of evil things a rock could do as he talked. The Dragonis’ bit back a groan, he should have been more careful.
Still… The (currently) brunet stared at the form prostrated on the ground at his feet. There was a certain voice in his head telling him that he could have fun with this situation. “I am not a rock. Get up before you further embarrass yourself, human.”

Lindir stood up quickly and clumsily. He didn't want to anger the rock-guy, even if he said he wasn't a rock. Though he did call him 'human'. "I-If you aren't a rock, w-what are?" he asked shakily. "I saw you change from a rock to a guy! Are you an alien?" he suggested. "Are you here to help the rocks with their rebellion?"
His eyes widened. "Oh no! Are you going to take over the world like in the movies?! Please don't kill me, I never did anything to the rocks!" he defended himself, wrapping his arms around himself tightly. He watched the brunette in front of him carefully, waiting for him to turn into a rock again and send the other rocks after him to do... whatever rocks could do.

The encounter was getting more amusing by the second. Kheiji could tell that this was one of those 'meant to happen' things, though he wouldn't call the human on it. The other thoughts were full of desperation and general naivety; it truly was all Kheiji could do to not laugh.
“‘Alien’? You have no idea how right you are.” He smirked at the other’s startled gasp, the boy looked about ready to bow before him again. “And I am not here to take over the world. We come here often you see, Earthen books are some of the best ones in the galaxies. Ancestors knows that the Major planets have no imagination whatsoever when it doesn’t pertain to the love of their life.”
Briefly, Kheiji wondered exactly how many rules he was breaking by telling the boy this, when said boy wasn’t his potential mate. Well, there was always the loophole that the brunet had guessed that he wasn’t from this planet.

Lindir just stared at the alien wide eyed for a few minutes. He couldn't believe it. Before him was an actual alien! That changed into rocks and liked to read Earth books. The boy stopped staring long enough to slip his hand up his sleeve and pinch himself hard. "Ow," he winced. "S-so, I'm not dreaming," he chuckled nervously.
"So you're here to read books?" he asked. "N-not to hurt an innocent boy that just happend to see you change from a rock into a guy?" he asked quickly, hopefully.

Kheiji eyed the boy oddly, the kids behavior was odd even for a human. And the other's thoughts! He shook his head, retracting the tendril that connected the two's minds. "Not books per say, but a lot of us that come here out of our own free will do it for entertainment, not some random military duty. I happen to be here because I like the rain, yet others could name different reasons."
For a brief moment he considered pulling the 'Holier than thou' attitude before deciding against it. Calling the boy human out loud would have him trembling enough, no need to flaunt it. "And I'm not a rock. At all. Period. I can just change shape, and the moment you stumbled upon me I just happened to be a rock."

Lindir fiddled with his sleeve nervously. It still felt weird knowing that he was standing near an alien; but he did not seem to want to harm him. So maybe it would be okay to ask a few questions. "Y-you like the rain?" he asked quietly. "They don't have rain where you come from? How do your plants grow? Do you have plants? If you don't have plants, how do eat? If you can't eat on your planet, do get food from here or another one? How did you live to build ships if you don't have food? How-"
He paused in his questioning, and looked thoughtful. "You said you can change shapes, didn't you?" he asked excitedly. The boy bounced a little. "Can you turn into a puppy? Do you know what a puppy is? They are the cutest things in the world! At least... one of them..... There a lot of cute things! Can you change into a puppy? Or a kitty or... any kind of animal?" Lindir hoped the alien could, and would maybe show him. That would be so cool!

Kheiji almost felt dizzy at the tirade of questions; it was unexpected to say the least. One would think that the kid would be put off at the derogatory ‘human’ comment and tone that he’d used a few times. Taking advantage of the brunet’s pause, he quickly thought up answers to the questions. “Yes, I like the rain; Parinenai does have rain, but I don’t particularly like my home planet; hence, with the rain, we have growing plants. We eat normal things, and though I can sustain myself on vegetation, I can also live off of eating meat my entire life. Ships are not exactly native to Parinenai, but Mentsiquar, another planet, is almost strictly industrial. The first beings of our planet to go through outer space of their own creation were the wizards.” At the second round of questions, Kheiji paused, suspicious. Show him? “I can change into any animal…” He could hear the next question hanging on the other’s lips and decided to take it into his own hands before the kid asked him to change into something using the forbidden word. Concentrating inwards, slowly brought out the image he had in mind, hearing the humans gasp as his body blurred and reworked itself. Seconds later an otter stood in the place he had been standing moments previously, it’s sleek brown fur shining as though it were wet.

Parinenai... Mentsiquar... wizards... The first two were planets he decided- mostly since the alien had told him so- and wizards? Those things were real? Lindir wondered if they were like Harry Potter or maybe Gandalf.... He would have to ask later. Right now the alien was doing something weird. The singer gasped quietly. His body was shifting! "Ah!" he squealed loudly when he saw the beaver. Now he knew the alien wouldn't hurt him. Beavers were nice, a being that changed into one couldn't be mean. The brunette clamped his hands over his mouth and looked around. When a few seconds passed and no one came over, he relaxed. Lindir walked the few steps over to the beaver and knelt in front of him. "I've never been this close to a beaver before! This is so cool! Can I pet your head? I won't pet anywhere else, promise," he rambled. He didn't wait for an answer before he starting to lightly touch his head.

Kheiji choked; a beaver!! He was in no way as inelegant as a beaver! Even though he had nodded in response the question, he twitched his whiskers on the action and dark eyes narrowed on the form petting his head. Beavers were fine and dandy, but he was an otter! Thus, he decided (probably foolishly, but who cared) to tell the kid that. So he did, connecting his mind with the brunet.
‘I am not a beaver, thank you very much. I am an otter. An Eurasian sea otter to be precise in Earthen terms.’ He could feel the boys (the Dragonis really needed to learn his name) surprise and let out an otter-ish snicker, the guttural noise echoing in the air just as a regular call would. ‘You look surprised. My kind would have to have some way to communicate outside of the tongue, you realize..’

Lindir's eyes widened more and more. There was a voice in his head! And, it was the alien's.... This was so weird but cool at the same time. "Um...," he started, and cleared his throat. "...Sorry about mixing you up with a beaver. I'm not that good at animals, I guess. And... can you read my mind?" he squeaked. That would be so weird. He placed his hands on his head in an attempt to keep his thoughts to himself.

Kheiji gave an otter shrug (looking rather weird as he did so, being that otters had rather flat shoulders) and swiftly changed back into his current human form. "That won't work, you know. But I don't go around reading people's minds; the only thing I'd gain would be going insane from the influx of different peoples - personalities - thoughts."
Springing onto a nearby large outcropping rock in the garden, he sat down on it, gesturing over. “By the way, I don’t think there was an introduction?”

Lindir stood up slowly and walked over to the alien. He wished he would have stayed a bea- otter longer. But he supposed he wouldn't want to stay like that all day, either. The teen pulled an elastic out of his pocket to tie his hair back in a ponytail.
"By the way, I don’t think there was an introduction?" Kheiji stated.
His hand stopped mid twist. "Oh!" he gasped. "There wasn't, was there? I'm so sorry! How rude of me. Not all humans are this rude, you know. Well some are ruder but more aren't but... um...," he trailed off, trying to remember what he was getting at.
"Oh yeah," he muttered, finishing with his hair. He smiled and held out his hand. "My name is Lindir Grey. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Kheiji could plaintively say that he was amused. Very amused in fact. Just the way the young human’s bright ramblings lifted the rather oppressive silence of before made him want to laugh out loud. Still. Giving an amused smile, he took the boys hand and absently wondered where he came from. “Kheiji Jhet, and it is indeed a pleasure for all that I could get in trouble. Not that I will mind.”
Of course not, he could hide the knowledge inside the boy if officials came blaring – though how Kheiji didn’t know. “I believe I offered you to sit, though I suppose that could have been interpreted as a come here gesture.”
