Kezro tilted his head to the side in thought. After a moment or two, he shook his head. Turning slightly, he looked back at Dov and smiled.
"No, not really. I've been alone since I left my life-giver's house. I mean, I do have people who stay with me occasionally, but no one who sticks around for very long. I can't blame them though," he said. "Although, there is Gupse, but...Well..."
He trailed off in the middle of his sentence and blinked, realizing they were on the edge of his road. Gesturing for the boy to follow him, Kez made a turn and headed down a small street before he stopped in front of a two-story, brick building. He walked up the stairs leading to the door and pulled out his key.
After he unlocked it, he put his hand on the handle to turn it but stopped short. Kez glanced back at Dov and frowned a bit, biting his lip. Shaking his head, he turned to face the boy more fully and said, "Tell me...You wouldn't happen to have a thing against fish, would you?"

Dov felt his hope fall when he heard Kezro speaking of Gupse, and he felt slightly jealous all though he knew he had no reason to feel it. A soft sigh escaped his lips. Of course someone like Kezro wouldn't stay all alone...
He kept silent as he followed Kezro and looked around. When they finally reached Kezro's home he felt weary and wasn't sure if he wanted to see this Gupse person at all.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard Kezro's voice again, asking him if he had something against fish. Dov frowned and shook his head slowly. "No, why?" He asked wondering why Kezro would ask him such a thing.

Kez smiled at him as he swung open the door. Stepping inside, he kicked off his shoes and relief washed over him as soon as he was able to stretch out his toes. He motioned for Dov to do the same.
"Good. Well, besides for me being what I am, I wouldn't want ya to be all out of sorts because of Gupse," he explained as he stepped away from the entry so that the youth could enter. He vaguely noticed the other's somewhat questioning look and he grinned sheepishly.
"'Cause, ya know...Gupse's my pet fish. I mean, It does get lonely living by one's self, after all..." He ducked his head slightly in embarassment. He cleared his throat, slightly blushing before he asked, "Ya want to come in? I'll give you the tour and then make dinner..."

Dov smiled brightly, glad to find that Gupse was not a person but a fish. The white-haired boy took of his shoes and placed them next to Kezro's. He looked at the man and grinned. "Your pet fish..." He chuckled. "Thank god." He mumbled to himself.
He kept his eyes on Kezro and his smile grew when he saw that Kezro was slightly embaressed.
"Ya want to come in? I'll give you the tour and then make dinner..."
Dov nodded and followed Kezro, looking around. "You have a really nice house..." He whispered, more to himself then to Kezro.

Kez smiled back at him. "Yeah? You really like it?" he asked, waiting for Dov to come close before he threw an arm around the other's shoulders.
It started as only a friendly gesture, but then...Kez began to realize exactly how nice it felt to be this close to the boy...how they just seemed to fit together...and just how good the other seemed to smell.
Unconsciously, he began to lean down towards the other, his eyes fluttering shut as he did so. He softly placed his cheek against white hair, inhaling the scent of vanilla and nectar and the outdoors and something else that had to be just Dov. It was fantastic...
Kezro's eyes shot open as he realized what he was doing. He dropped his arm and pulled quickly away from the other, horrified by what he had done. What would the white-haired one now think of him? He would probably want to get as far away from the half merman as possible...That just couldn't happen!
"Sorry," he mumbled under his breathe, cheeks colouring slightly. He turned on his heel and made his way down the hall, cursing himself for giving into temptation. 'But what sweet temptation to give into...' he thought, sighing dreamily before shaking his head.
Keeping his eyes averted, he turned slightly towards Dov. "Right. Well...This hall lead to the bathroom and living room...," he muttered.

Dov bit the inside of his cheek, and rested his gaze on the ground. He shrugged, hearing Kezro apologize. His chest had clenched when he had felt Kezro's arm wrap around him, making him burn inside. He couldn't help but wish that Kezro would touch him again, but he knew the other wouldn't.
Dov was deep in thought, folling Kezro around the house until he heard Kezro's voice again and his head shot up. He crossed his arms and listened to Kezro's words as he was told where the bathroom and living room where.
Dov kept his eyes on Kezro and stepped closer to the man, hoping Kezro wouldn't notice. He felt his stomach turn and was nervous. Dov didn't know why but he felt more at ease with Kezro then he had ever felt with his own people. The whole reason he had left the Reyls he had been traveling with had been to find his mate and now, being around Kezro, he didn't want to search any further.
Dov his arm brush against Kezro's and his breath hitched, his arm feeling as if it was burned. He blushed and looked up at Kezro, biting his lower lip softly. He hoped Kezro hadn't noticed.

Kez felt something brush against his arm and looked down to see Dov blushing. The younger's eyes were trained on him, so he just smiled. 'Perhaps I havn't blown it completely', he thought as the boy gave him a small smile in return.
The half merman turned again, walking slowly so the other could be next to him. As they passed several rooms, he pointed out what each were.
"That's the kitchen. This one's a study. I have a small laundry room in this one. I have a small pool in that back porch area, water imported from Parenenai and everything...Then there's the upstairs."
After coming up the stairs, he walked over to two doors situated closely together. He hesitated for a moment before pointing to one. "This is...my room. Yours is the one right next to it...They're connecting rooms. I hope you won't mind..."
Kez really did hope the other boy wouldn't mind. He wasn't sure why, but the idea of sleeping so close to this beauty pleased him to no end. If Dov didn't approve though, he himself would just go sleep in the study or transform and sleep in the pool.

"This is...my room. Yours is the one right next to it...They're connecting rooms. I hope you won't mind..."
Dov quickly shook his head. "No," He anwsered, maybe a little to quickly, and then grinned sheepishly. "Of course I don't mind." He continued and shifted his stance. A sigh escaped his lips as he thought of how stupid he must've looked anwsered so quickly.
Before he could speak again he heard his stomach asking for food and Dov blushed, quickly placing his hand on his stomach. "Um..." He mumbled and felt rather stupid. "I guess I'm...kinda hungy." He said to Kezro and smiled.

Kez grinned brightly at the boy's comment of keeping the same room and would have replied if not for the rumbling of Dov's stomach. He threw back his head and laughed. "Well, I suppose it has been a long day for you, hasn't it? Besides, it's always good to have an appetite!" he said merrily after the other vocalized his hunger. With that, he made his way down the stairs; Dov following after him. Going into the kitchen, he began to pull out various food objects before he stopped and turned to look at the other with a sheepish look.
"Uh...Exactly what do you want?" he asked before smiling wryly. "Eventually you're going to have to tell me all you like to eat or make a list since you'll be living here." He paused for a moment and then his eyes widened and he spluttered a bit.
"I mean...for the duration you'll be staying here, of course!" he said quickly. He averted his eyes a bit, berating himself for slipping up like that. It wasn't his fault that that Dov was so beautiful though! The boy made him feel funny.
Looking up from beneath dark green lashes, he ran his eyes over the white-haired one's form, taking time with his observations while trying to be as discrete as possible. The boy was gorgeous all right, and Kezro's mind traitorously began to imagine what exactly the rest of that supple body looked like. Already the skin on Dov that was showing mocked Kez.
The half merman's breath hitched slightly and he licked his lips a bit, wondering why his mouth suddenly so dry. 'Yup. It's definitely a funny feeling,' he confirmed mentally as his stomach fluttered a bit. It was ignorable at first, but with each moment that he spent with the other, it was beginning to grow. Was something with him wrong...?
He was curious though and decided to push off these feelings a bit more. It couldn't possibly hurt anything if he did...He wasn't sure he believed that entirely though as his chest tightened a bit.
"So...how long are you staying here? I mean, where exactly are you from and why are you here? Actually...what race are you even? I couldn't tell right off the bat by your looks...," he said, turning back to the food ingredients to hide a small blush as he said the word 'looks'.

"So...how long are you staying here? I mean, where exactly are you from and why are you here? Actually...what race are you even? I couldn't tell right off the bat by your looks...,"
Dov smiled as he watched Kezro's back. "Well, I'm not sure how long I'm staying...until you get sick of me I guess." He laughed. When his laughing died away he turned serious. "I'm searching for someone and I won't stop looking until I find him, fate brought me here, so I hope he is nearby."
The white-haired boy played with a strand of his hair. "I'm from Zerca, I lived with a group of Reyls for a very long time...they were really nice." He said, remembering the friends he had made there and the people who had cared from him when he couldn't do so himself. "But...they aren't my real family..." His voice died away and he looked at his hands, frowning.
"I'd rather not talk about my family..." Dov decided then and looked up again, his frown was quickly replaced once again with a smile. "I hope that explained some things, like my perfect looks." He joked, grinning.

“Of course. You’re a picture, dahr-ling. A greatness, painted by the hand of a master alone,” Kezro drawled, joking right back at the Zercan, all the while ignoring how true he thought the words to be.
“So I get a new housemate whose a Zercan. Cool. Very cool. But what’s this about meeting this…guy? Is he expecting you?” He asked mildly. He was proud that only a bit of his jealously shown through in his voice, but that could easily be interpreted as something else. Sighing, he concentrated on starting to cook some of the food.

The white-haired boy couldn't help but turn crimson when he heard Kezro speaking of him. And suddenly he heard his own voice inside his head and he did not know where it came from but he felt himself wishing that Kezro truly meant this words.
“So I get a new housemate whose a Zercan. Cool. Very cool. But what’s this about meeting this…guy? Is he expecting you?”
When he heard this Dov shook his head. "No, he doesn't even know who I am..." He mumbled. "I don't even know who he is."
A sigh left his lips and he leaned back. He crossed his arms and watched Kezro in silence for a while. Then he parted his lips to speak, the words leaving his lips before he could stop them. "But I need him, he is a part of me as much as I am a part of him." He blushed and shifted his stance, feeling nervous. "And when I find him I will know because...because we were meant to find each other."
Dov looked sheepishly at Kezro, smiling slightly. "I know it must sound weird and silly to you even childish," He started. "But for me it means so much..."
For the first time Dov noticed that he did not feel the ache to find his mate when he was around Kezro and it made him weary and wonder if it meant something.
He walked over to Kezro and looked at him for a long time, staring at the man and wondered. "And he will be searching for me too," He whispered and wished for Kezro to look at him. "Maybe without even knowing himself..., searching for something." He continued and bit his lip. "Even if it's only the need to care for someone...to mean something...or just to wanted by someone."

Kezro hands shook violently for a second and he almost ended up cutting his finger with the veggie knife he was using when Dov asked him that. The boy had been able to put the half merman’s thoughts into such deep and pretty words. It was startling; no one had been able to before.
He leaned his head down and let his hair shield him, if only for a little bit. “No…I don’t find you to be a fool…to be childish. I understand completely.” A small, pained smile crossed his face, unnoticeable for his hair. “I know the feeling. I…,” he said, trailing off as he looked over at the Zercan.
The odd feeling was back at full force again. It began pounding on his head. It was so overwhelming, and he felt like he was falling and couldn’t breathe. Slowly his head seemed to just gravitate to where the other boy’s head was.
Suddenly he just found himself to be pressing a light kiss on Dov’s lips. They were warm and soft and tasted faintly of a honey-vanilla-sugar. A whisp of heat followed through him, and he liked it. He started to deepen the kiss, sparks flying behind his eyes, before he realized what he was doing.
Pulling back, he opened his eyes. He hadn’t even realized that he had closed them until that moment. Staring at Dov for one moment, he muttered “Sorry” real quick before he started to bolt off.
This was not how it was suppose to go. He was not supposed to kiss the beautiful boy. He was not supposed to feel that good when he did.
…He was not supposed to feel so complete.
Dov could very well hate him now, after all. People can’t just be so forward and force themselves on someone who was quite close to being a stranger, albeit one temporarily living in their house. It just didn’t work out that way. Especially when that stranger was looking for someone special. Looking for a…
...mate.
Kezro’s eyes widened at the thought. What if he was…What if Dov felt…Too many ‘what if’s for the half merman’s tastes. He just needed to figure out what exactly to do about the situation, and then everything would fall into place.

Dov brushed his long fingers over his lips, the taste of Kezro's still on them. A sigh left his lips and he let his hand fall back to his side. The kiss had made him feel warm and happy, happier then he had in a very long time.
Sorry
Dov's stomach clenched and turned. He shifted around, nervous. He looked around the empty kitchen and felt very out of place.
The white-haired boy started walking, his feet carrying him towards the door. He left quickly, thinking that made Kezro wished to be alone for a little while since he had also walked out of the kitchen.
When he found himself on the street again he wasn't sure what to do and not knowing how much time Kezro wanted him to stay away. A frown crossed his face, the thought of Kezro not wanting him around made him rather sad.
When he passed a bup he entered it and coughed from the smoke inside. It was dark inside and filled with noise from the crowd inside. A sigh left his lips and now he found himself wishing that he was still in the kitchen.
Dov walked slowly towards the bar and looked at the bartender. "Hello, could I have a...." He looked around and pointed towards the glass the man next to him was holding. "Could I have that, whatever it is."
The boy looked around and felt out of place between the laughing people. He had been sure that he had made a mistake by coming here, just as the people he traveled with had told him. But when he had found Kezro, or rather when Kezro found him, he knew that he hadn't made a mistake at all. But now...
"You seem sad?"
Dov looked up, confused. "Excuse me?" He breathed, watching the man next to him.
"I was looking at you and noticed that you seem sad..." The man explained.
"Oh," Dov returned and thanked the bartender for his drink. "Well...I guess I am." He decided.
"Why?"
Dov frowned and brought the glass to his lips. "Why should I tell you?" He asked and then took a sip of his drink. He started coughing and made a face. "That's disgusting..." He coughed and heard the man laugh next to him. He placed the glass back on the bar, a little harder then he had meant to in his anger and turned to look at the man again. "Do you find me funny?"
The man shook his head. "No, but I do find you very cute."
Dov frowned and looked down into his drink. "Oh..."
Dov tried not to look at the man who was still standing next to him. He could feel the man's stares and they made him uncomfortable and once again he wished for Kezro to be with him.
"So, what is someone like you doing here?"
Dov shrugged. "Something..." He anwsered, getting annoyed with the man.
"Here, drink this." The man said and offered him his glass.
Dov looked down at the clear liquid and hoped it was less disgusting then what he had tried before. It made him feel warm and fuzzy. "It's nice..." He decided softly.

Kezro sighed and put a hand to his forehead, tiredly rubbing his bangs back. For the fifth time, he revaluated the problem. The more he evaluated though, the less he thought of it as a problem. It all depended on Dov though. He had run out of there so quickly…He never took the time to actually talk to the boy.
It was just…he was afraid that the other would be mad at him, or hate him. It happened. He didn’t want to open himself just to be hurt. This was a reason that he never had bothered with relationships. Underneath all that confidence, there was the fear that he would get attached to someone just to have them pulled from him.
It happened to his mother when his father died, after all.
Despite it all, that had been no reason to just leave the Zercan hanging like that. Feeling guilty and more then a little curious about what the other felt, Kezro walked back through the house. When he got to the kitchen, he didn’t see Dov though.
“Dov…?” he called out. No one answered and a deep terror gripped at him. Eyes wide, he began searching throughout the house, periodically calling for the boy. When his search turned up nothing, he ran out the door, forgetting all else but the ‘misplaced’ other.
Still he kept calling. “Dov! Please, answer me! I’m sorry! Come back, please!” People who knew him asked who he was looking for, and he described the boy. No one had seen him.
The boy had been lost when he found him, he seemed to be lost again.
After what had seemed like ages, he finally stumbled into a dusty little pub. His feet hurt and he was sure they were bleeding because he had left his shoes inside his house. About to give up, thinking that Dov really did hate him and wanted to be gone, Kezro spotted the boy sitting at the bar. He bit back something close to a sob, and made his way over to the boy. He collapsed at the foot of the stool Dov sat at and wrapped his arms around the white-haired boy’s waist.
“Don’t ever do that again,” he gasped wearily, hugging the boy somewhat tightly as if to reassure himself the other was there. “Please…I was so afraid I’d lost you.
