The silence made Dalian assumed his mate would not show him. He was pleasantly surprised when Chase ordered the lights to brighten and then he saw it. Chase had what seemed to be a slightly scarred face but beyond that he was a very handsome man and he smiled up softly at him.
"You are a very handsome man Chase." He carefully reached up and gently touched the scarred side of his face. "Does it...hurt at all?" Thinking that it might he moved his hand and pulled it back. "You don't have to walk around the house anymore in the dark." And he didn't have to act like a flashlight, at least he hoped he didn't.

Chase was surprised and pulled his mate's hand back to press against his cheek. "I guess thats only because you're my mate that you think that way but I'm pleased. I want you to find me attractive, Dalian."

The fae blushed a bit when he felt his hand pressed against his mates cheek along with his words. "But you are handsome." He let his hand gently caress his mates cheek now. It surely didn't hurt if he let him touch his face. Without saying anything he brought his lips up to his mates and kissed them, gently, softly, lingering just a bit. Then he pulled back and smiled up at him. He really was sorry he ever fought with him earlier. "You aren't mad at me now, are you?" He had thought to make up for his behavior earlier but he didn't think he was entirely at fault. Dalian still wanted to see his friend or rather talk to him from afar. He was glad he got to see him even if it was just for a bit.

Chase shook his head and moved to nuzzle his mate's neck, actually purring like a great, big cat.

What a relief it was to see his mate shake his head. He gave a little sigh of relief just before he heard Chase purr while suddenly nuzzling his neck. It was then he was reminded of what his mate was. Yeah, he knew he was a Zercan but now he recalled Zercans were cat-like people. Having just seen his mate as he was he didn't really think about it before.
For a moment he just closed his eyes and let his mate continue his nuzzling for a bit longer before he spoke. "Chase do you think you can...show me your other form at some point?" Now he was curious about seeing it. "Right now though we can just relax and watch a movie." He wasn't paying attention to the AI here but he could hear a program to his side somewhere.
"Unless you want to do something else. Are you hungry?" He could cook for him if he was, he wanted to.

Chase nipped his mates jawline before pulling away and nodding. "Anytime you wish you see I will show you. You may cook if you wish too but I would like to hold you for awhile," he said honestly.

Dalian cheeks tinted a faint red as he looked up at his mate moving to rest against him a bit more with a faint sigh. "I think I'll stay here a bit then cook later...whatever you want the most today." He didn't recall if he had a favorite food. "So we can just stay and relax a bit longer." He would just stay here for another minute or two than get up.
"Oh...you know while I was outside I cam across your friend." He wondered what Van was up to now. He probably thought negatively of him now somehow. The way he looked at him still bothered him a bit.

Chase forced himself not to frown. He trusted Van with his life and that of his mate, it was just that any male around his unclaimed mate irked him. "Van is a good man. I am sure he was not untoward or anything."

"Oh yes, of course he didn't I was simply saying." Dalian shook his head for a moment thinking it was silly his mate would assume that of his friend. "He escorted me back here." Though he didn't bother to come inside. Things would have been a bit awkward if he had though. "He's a really good man, would you be up for inviting him to dinner at some point?"

Chase shrugged. "I don't care. I see his ugly mug nearly everyday for work don't suppose it would hurt to let him eat here one day."

"Then let's invite him sometime." Dalian laughed a bit at his mates words on his friend. He seemed quite handsome to him but it was probably best not to say that. He really hoped Van would come if invited. He also hoped he didn't think too badly of him. Now he kind of did regret going out because he didn't even find his friend. He would definitely look into him later but not now.
"I'll start making something for us now, your friend doesn't need to come over today, just let me know if he has any free time in the future." He reluctantly moved to get off of his mate and stand on his own two feet. "Anything special you want to eat, you must have some kind of favorite food." He couldn't make anything special if he had nothing for him to make and he wanted to make something just for him.

"Considering I am Van's boss you tell me and I'll give him time," he shrugged. Then, "Meat. Whatever meat you'd like but rather rare if you please."

"Alright. I'll do that then." Dalian quickly scurried off to the kitchen with a smile. "It'll take awhile so I'll call you when I'm done." He disappeared into the kitchen and searched around for what he could make. He was given a really vague idea of what he could do but it left lots of open possibilities. He would just start on something that he knew would taste good but was simply. He did kind of want to make something fancy but this would due for now.
He randomly took out the first bit of meat he found and started to prepare it. First he had to let it thaw a bit then he would continue.

Chase headed to his office with a bit of a smile on his face - a smile that immediately turned to a frown when he saw his best friend sitting in front of his desk with his boots propped atop it's wooden surface.
"Good to see that you and your mate kissed and made up. Been waiting up here since I dropped him off waiting for you." Van said as he swirled around his scotch in his glass. "You really should be more considerate."
"Perhaps," he walked over to the man and shoved his feet off his desk before leaning against it. "You would make yourself known and the wait need not have been so long. I thank you, though. For seeing to his safety. I should not have let my temper reign over my common sense."
"Ah, but you're a brute, the one we all know and love. No worries though."
"Is there anything else or do you intend to sit about and bother me?"
Van grinned, never taking his friend's words to heart. "Just ready for a mission is all. It's been a few days and I'm ready."
Chase grunted. "Ready or not, it's a vacation your getting. And do not argue," he said when the man opened his mouth. "You know the drill. Too much of what we do can burn through us. My mate wants you over for dinner one day this week and after that you're off planet. Understood?"
"I'll never understand your penchant for forcing vacations on people," he grumbled. Then, "Took a liking to me your mate did, eh? I am rather likable."
Chase first growled in annoyance at the man's words and then made a gesture so rude that both men had to burst out laughing.

A good ten minutes of thawing the meet in warm water and he was ready to work on it. He started to process of washing it thoroughly before seasoning it and switching to getting the other side dishes prepared. He had some potatoes here so he took that out to use to make mash potatoes by hand. Maybe there was a box of the stuff somewhere but fresh ingredients always tasted better to him.
He spent a good thirty or so minutes in the kitchen cooking before he was done or well about done. He was finishing up and he wondered what his mate was up to now. Did he need to look all over for him? He considered that but then thought of something else. "Um..." What was the name of the AI here. "Excuse me?" When he spoke in the air, feeling awkward, he directed it towards the AI of the house. "Could you please call Chase down for dinner for me?" Hopefully he wasn't talking to himself.
While he waited for that he went ahead and grabbed the plated, serving the food and heading over to the dinner table. It just took a few minutes to have all the plates set with glasses and drinks. He was hoping by the time he was done his mate would be down or on his way.
