There really wasn't much noise in the house. It was still a little early in the morning and it was rather quiet. At least, until a clang of dropping pots in the kitchen followed by a childish "oops." Corny had woken up before everyone and was in the process of making breakfast. The teen was humming under his breath as he nursed a pan of eggs benedict and bacon.
Akelah, the big lump, as still asleep in bed. He lay flat on his stomach, snoring softly with an arm hanging over the side of the mattress so that his fingers could brush against the carpet. Maybe he'd be nicer when he woke up. Probably not.

Jazzy walked into the kitchen, slightly surprised. "Uh...morning?" he offered, picking up the pots and skillets and putting them back on the hanging rack overhead. "There's a trick to getting these down. You have to pull the green spoon." he said.
He wandered over to Corny, an eyebrow raised. "Alien's cook?" he asked.

"Good morning." Corny looked over his shoulder and grinned, his fuzzy hair a mass of tangles, making him look a little crazy. "Nah, just me. I like cooking and big brother got me some Earth cookbooks last time he was here." The teen explained. "You feeling better now Jazzy?" He asked, concern evident in his voice.

"Sort of..." Jazzy shrugged, smiling. He leaned against the counter. "Have you ever had grits?" he asked. "It's like...porridge, except better. We eat it here in the South, so it's sort of unique. Wanna try it?" he asked.

Corny cocked his head cutely, deliberating. "Yes, alright." He smiled back. "Sounds like it'll go with what I have here." He indicating the sizzling pan of food in front of him. "Show me how to make it?" He asked eagerly.
"And I'm glad you're feeling better...sort of. I'm sorry brother scared you. He isn't usually so...forceful."

Jazzy smiled. He genuinely liked Corny, the kid was just too sweet.
"Alright," he said, going over to his neat pantry. He pulled out the grits, pouring them in a pot, eyeballing the amount. He rinsed the grains a few times before adding the water.
"You just put em in the pot, rinse them a bit--without dumpin' them out. Add some water, and butter, and put it on the stove on medium. You have to make sure to stir it, because then it'll pop if you dont, and grits burn like hell." he said as he went through the steps.
"And don't worry about your brother. I try not to. As long as he doesn't try to rape me/ kidnap me again, I'm good." he shrugged.

Corny paid attention to what Jazzy was doing, while keeping his own cooking food from burning. "Looks easy enough." The teen commented, logging the recipe for the grits away. He would have to try it out later.
Jazzy's last statement made the young lion cough awkwardly. "Um...about that. I don't think he's giving up. He really does like you and--" Corny was cut off by a suddenly deep voice.
"One more word kit and I'll rip out your tongue." Akelah stood in the doorway, tall and menacing. The threat was empty, but his harsh voice made it seem true.

Jazzy turned, glaring at Akelah. "You'll do no such thing, especially not in my house." he frowned at the big male, who seemed a little less imposing in the daytime.
"Knoc' Knoc' Me comin in!" came a call from the front door. "Jazzeh, yeh frant dar be open," said the voice.
"Shit." Jazzy frowned, before going out of the other doorway to the kitchen and into the living room where Damel stood with Kandii, his friend looking worried.
"Yeh no be answering yeh phone. Us came ta see if yaur alrite." Damel said with concern, hazel eyes sincere. Jazzy felt a little pang as he forced a smile. "No--I'm good. it's just been a weird night." he said.

Corny just rolled his eyes at both the male's and just continued on with the cooking, keeping an eye on the grits as well.
Kandii still wasn't sure if he liked Jazzy or not, but Damel liked the male so he had come. Standing there in the living room, the Incubus nostrils flared as a familiar scent hit him. His eyes went a little wide in disbelief before he was back pedaling.
The redhead shrieked and then was laughing like mad when he was pounced by Akelah, the big dark Zercan actually purring at the little male beneath him. "Lah-lah no! Bad kitty!" The Incubus laughed, shoving Akelah off of him, still giggling.
"You told me you were going home Kandii. What happened?" The lion asked of his friend, completely ignoring Jazzy and Damel now, as he listened to the Incubus' animated chatter.

Jazzy only had a "WTF?" face on now, before dragging Damel into the kitchen.
Damel looked at Corny at the stove, who offered a little wave, before turning to Jazzy. "'plain."
"That's Corny." Jazzy said, motioning to the teen. "He's an alien. So is tall, dark, and growly in there. The guy kidnaps me from my club, destroys my phone and holds me prisoner before finally letting me go home--only to walk in uninvited and crash here for the night." Jazzy said, nearly all in one breath.
Damel rose an eyebrow. "Oh....kay?" he blinked, confused.

"Hello." Corny had said before listening with half an ear after Jazzy had launched into his speech. "It wasn't...that bad." The teen tried after Jazzy had finished. "You forgot the part where big brother saved you from that vampire. So, it's not all bad. Right?" He asked hopefully, trying to help Akelah's cause.
Kandii's giggling punctuated the silence, followed by a growl from Akelah and more laughing. Who knew the serious lion could be...playful.

"Vampire?" Damel asked. "Yeh sure yeh alrite, mon?" he asked, feeling Jazzy's forehead. He turned towards the living room, not liking the little jealous spark as he heard his Kandii giggling.
"I'm fine." Jazzy said stepping away. "You know what, let me get dressed, I have to go see the kids in a little while. Gaspard wanted me to come by before Dillon's surgery." he said.
"Oh, 'im back in town?" Damel asked.
"Yup, just came back over from his intership in France, lucky bastard." Jazzy grinned. "But...he'll have an stronger accent now. Yay."
Damel swatted Jazzy playfully on the rear. "Watch yaurself, deh boy is jailbait."
"Me? Puh-lease, he's like a brother," Jazzy said with a smile before frowning, "and ow! That hurt, loser."
"Go change, bumbo clot." Damel said lightly, shooing his friend away.

Corny looked confused at the two male's conversation. "What's a Gaspard and what's a France?" He ask curiously, taking the now finished breakfast off the stove, glad that he had made a generous amount. He didn't know if Damel and Kandii were gonna be eating but it was good to be safe.
As if anticipating the done breakfast, Akelah ambled in right behind a beaming Kandii, seeming in better spirits. "Oh, Akelah!" Kandii announced as he ran to Damel to kiss his lover quickly. "This is Damel. He's my special someone." The Incubus grinned at Akelah's startled look as he took in the rather, in his opinion, plain looking male. Jazzy was much more handsome.

Jazzy came back downstairs, his hair artfully gelled and wearing a tight grey and red t-shirt and a pair of hightop converse. His wallet chain hung off his hip and slipped into his back pocket.
"France is a contray. Geo is a boy, bout round yaur age." Damel answered Corny after Kandii had freed his lips.
Jazzy looked at Corny. "You wanna come down to the hospital with me? I usually teach the kids drumming, it's pretty simple." He shrugged, sitting at his high counter at the bar chair.

Okay, so maybe Jazzy was a little too handsome. "You're not going out like that." He told his little mate. No way in hell was he going out like that.
"Shut up and eat your food." Corny snapped, setting a plate of food in front of the Lion, along with one for everyone else. Accept Kandii...who didn't really eat.
"And why don't you stop trying to feed everyone." Akelah retorted, making his brother pout and ignore the lion all together, turning to Jazzy.
"Yeah, sure I'd like to go Jazzy. If someone would stop being a poop-head. I dunno how to drum." He continued. "So I'll just have to watch.
