"Yes. He should be fine now." Siren said. "Who the hell are you, anyway? Mind telling me exactly what went on?"
If the machine had a body, he'd be tapping his foot right now.

Ferren was relieved to hear that Rykan would be safe. He wasn't expecting to be questioned by the communicator. He suddenly found himself a bit nervous. He felt the other had a right to hear though. He supposed the best way to start was with the first question.
"I'm Ferren, a Jshiko that lives on this planet." Hopefully that bit was enough when it came to telling who he was. "And a vampire had come along and hurt Rykan." He realized he lacked a lot of details. But he wasn't quite sure where to begin there. Should he speak of how he met Ryakn, how he taught him a bit about the flute.
Upon considering the flute, Ferren quickly looked about. He noted he had dropped it on the ground. Luckily, it seemed unscathed. He would have to go pick it up. He considered waiting a bit before doing so, but he saw nothing wrong with now. With that thought he was quick to get up, retrieve the flute, and return to where he had been seated.
"I had been with Rykan when it happened." He added that, as soon as he was seated. He wondered if there was more to say. If so, he would add whatever else was asked.

"Hmmm...do you like him?" Siren asked. "I mean, by now you must know he's blind, and if you do--why the hell are you staying with him? This better not be some kind of pity trip either, cause if it is, I'd kick your ass. If I had a body, that is."
Siren's face was a mask of annoyance. But it softened with the look on the kid's face and when he saw the flute in his hands.
"I guess you do like him, huh kid?" He asked, before sighing. "Ah, look, Jshiko. I don't mean to be rude, it's who I am. Rykan is my only friend, you know. He's a sweet guy, and he puts up with me--which speaks a whole hell of a lot about his character. He rescued me from going to the garbage planet, you know. He heard me mouthing off and paid two hundred credits to my grubby former owner to keep me," Siren chuckled.
"This idiot would give the shirt off his back for someone who needed it. If you like him, then I say you'd best act like it, cause guys like this don't come around every millenia. And this particular one is too dumb to realize a good thing when he's got it either. Try to make him realize it. He needs to be happy, 'cause those sad songs he plays all day are going to make me short circuit." Siren's words echoed in the clearing before he clicked himself off, displaying Rykan's heart rate. blood pressure, and breathing.

Ferren hadn't considered, even for a moment, to pity Rykan. Really, even after he figured out he was blind, he hadn't thought about it all. All he cared for was Rykan himself, and nothing else. He would have hoped to voice that much, if he was given the chance to. He could tell Siren, was quite serious when he spoke to him.
Before he had the chance to voice his own thought, he found it seemed Siren had managed to note his feelings. Ones he wasn't quite sure of yet himself. Did he like Rykan? To say he didn't...he didn't think he could. He really did like the other male. One he had just met today. Was that possible? He supposed it was, he certainly didn't think to say he disliked the man.
From what Siren was saying, it sounded like Rykan was an awfully kind person. He noted that he was lucky to have met him. He didn't know what to make of the communicator's personality though. He would have to say he seemed nice enough. To care about the other male so. He was glad to see he had someone with him who cared. He had to briefly wonder what his family was like. Then he recalled what he told him earlier. That was something to think on later.
At the moment, Ferren found himself staring at the communicator that was Siren. He wasn't there now though. What was he suppose to do now? Knowing that Rykan would be alright, he found himself still simply sitting there watching the other. "Rykan." He uttered the others name softly, thinking about what he heard so far, not expecting a reply. It would have been nice if he could find the mentioned race of his mother. He wished he could do that. If only to be able to do something for him.
The thought of trying to locate that race was considered a bit more then he should have. He did want to do something for him. But he didn't want to do something stupid. Something that could get him hurt. He wanted to be able to come back and see Rykan again. Anything he did would be a random search. One that could easily lead him to getting caught bu something dangerous. No. If he did anything, it wouldn't be now. For the moment, he just wanted to stay by Rykan's side.
Thinking on it, he moved a bit closer to him, so he was right beside him. Then he went about removing the coat he had on, he did still have it on, and set it on Rykan. He didn't want to take a chance of him getting cold. Even with the fire close by.
The flute, he still had in hand. He considered playing it, but then he didn't think to disturb Rykan. He couldn't think to wake him after all that occurred. He simply hoped they weren't bothered by anyone else.

Rykan woke sometime later to find his arm in pain. He sat up, forgetting, for a moment where he was. It was far to cold for him to be home, so where was he. It was only after a moment that he remembered that he had been attacked on Jeskara.
He sat up slowly, his head spinning, but no pain anywhere else on his body. Someone had attempted to heal him, but who? He thought hard. Ferren.
Was he still here? Rykan's head turned in every direction, searching for the boy's heartbeat. He nearly slapped himself. Of course Ferren would not have stayed, he was just some stranger that had almost gotten the boy killed.
He sighed heavily, wincing as his arm was slightly jarred.

Ferrne wasn't sure how much time had passed by. But he still hadn't thought to go off. He instead, came to rest a little ways beside the other male. Laying on the ground. Lacking the coat he had been given, having put it on Rykan, he found himself a bit cold. He figured it was better then being naked. He just considered changing to a different form. But he was a bit hesitant to, after all that happened.
In the end, Ferren kept his original form. finding himself laying across the ground, where he drifted off. Only to wake, when he heard some movement from the other. Was he really awake?
Quick to sit up, Ferren held an excited look, one mixed with relief, as he looked towards Ryakan.
"Ryakn, how are you feeling?" The first question the Jshiko thought to ask, still quite worried about the others health. He still had his flute in hand. Finding it almost comforting to have it in his possession.
"I know Siren said you would be alright, but I couldn't help but worry." Especially, with his lack of skills when it came to taking care of injured people. He never had to do such before. Not for something like this. If a Jshiko got in this kind of situation by themselves, if he had gotten in it himself, he would have been done for. There wouldn't have been anything that could have been taken care of.

Rykan jumped, startled by the boy's voice. Hearing it brought a smile to his face. "I'm fine...my arm should heal up in a week's time, judging from the pain. How are you faring? Did you stay with me all this time?" Rykan asked, head turning towards the boy in slight worry.
"You total Zerca brain! What you did was stupid! Stupid! Stupid!...STUPID! What if you had gotten killed, huh? Where would that have left all the people that depend on you?!" Came Siren's rage filled voice. The little communicator on Rykan's wrist vibrated with the force of Siren's anger.
"Siren, calm down. I am fine. Thank you for looking after me," he said in a calm voice, knowing his A.I well.
"You should be thanking Little Beauty over there," Siren said with a toss of his short, choppy blonde head.
"Who?" Rykan blinked. What was the little thing babbling about.
"You know! The kid, the Jshiko, what's his name...Ferret?" he said.
"Ferren." Rykan corrected, before turning his head to the boy. "Thank you as well, for staying and looking after me. You didn't have to." he smiled softly.

Ferren was relieved to hear that Rykan was feeling fine. He was also glad to hear that he would heal. But an injured arm sounded like a major setback. How was he suppose to look for those he came to search for with that. He couldn't help but frown at the thought.
The questions asked, towards his own well being, were unexpected. Did that mean he really worried about him? He was about to answer the questions asked when he suddenly heard the voice of Siren speak up. Showing how much he seemed to care, though it was insults he laid out first. Surely, only a person that cared would come off worried like that.
There was a moment Ferren just watched the two, hearing his name mentioned wrong. Then hearing himself thanked. "Oh, you don't have to thank me." Really, without him he would have been...not here now. He was sure of that. The vampire would have surely taken his life.
"I'm only fine now because of you, I just wished I could have done more." He did, he wished he could have kept Rykan from getting hurt period. "I couldn't possibly leave your side after what happened." He was saying he had been here since what happened occurred.
"If there's anything I can do to help you..." He seemed to trail off, suddenly biting his bottom lip. He was thinking about Rykan's mother. He wondered how Rykan would manage his search, and if he could help there.

Rykan grinned, "No, a thanks is definitely in order." he said, leaving no room for argument. He was slightly surprised at Ferren's offer. "No, you've helped me more than enough. I'm simply a stranger that you don't know, you've done more than enough by simply staying here with me." He said truthfully.
"So, since I don't have anything to offer you, for thanks..." Rykan's good arm reached up to untie his mother's necklace. "I want you to have this." He smiled, holding the finely beaded piece of jewelery outwards.
"It's for protection," he elaborated.

Ferren still didn't think he needed to be the one thanked, but he accepted it, with a faint smile. Hearing his assistance wasn't needed was unfortunate. He felt Rykan made it sound like he almost felt obliged or that he had to. That wasn't exactly the case. He really wanted to help more. But he wasn't thinking to argue.
Seeing what Rykan moved to give him was a definite surprise. He didn't need to hear its origins to figure it must have been important. He didn't think he could possibly accept it. But then, how could he turn it down like that. Especially with the reason behind him giving it to him.
"Thank you," Was it really for protection. He couldn't help but smile. "Are you sure?" He asked, still finding it hard to believe that he would give him something. Especially for doing something so simple. Well, he thought staying by his side wasn't a difficult thing to do. He didn't see who wouldn't want to.
"What will you do now?" He wanted to know, he didn't simply wish to part from Rykan now. He didn't wish to be a bother either though. There had to be something he could do, to help, and stay a bit longer. Not that he had been told to go. He just knew, he had to eventually.

"I'm not sure. With this injury my progress will be slowed. My best bet is to find a city to stay in for the week, then I will head out to search for my mother's people." he said, giving it some thought. He had hoped to be back by the end of the week, but it seemed like the vampire had put a bit of a hitch on things.
He knew that Ferren wanted to stay with him, but it was too dangerous. His beast roared out in displeasure at the thought of his mate separate from him.
Rykan had given Ferren an ancient Majikadai charm, so that whenever he'd run into danger, the charm would protect him from death. Hopefully that would help keep the boy safe until he had finished his mission, then he would properly court him. That plan set, he looked up towards Ferren.
"Do you know the direction of the nearest city? If I reach the city by morning...or whatever semblance of morning you all have here, I can rest and be up to inquire about my mother's tribe." he said, standing. It was odd, trying not to jar his arm, but he managed. Rykan headed over to his belongings and began to pack them back into his bag, his hands thumping his flute case.
"Ah..." he blinked, opening the case and feeling nothing. Where had his instrument gone?

Ferren figured that would be the case. That Rykan would have problems searching. A whole week sounded like too much. How could he put off his mothers health? He wished he could do something. He wished he could search for him. He was tempted to. He doubted he could. He would have to think a bit more into it. He didn't want to end up doing something foolish.
Perhaps he could mention the idea, or hint towards it. He had a feeling, it wouldn't be approved. To go looking for the Majikadai. A race that had no reason to speak with a Jshiko. To go searching by himself, it seemed a foolish thing indeed to consider.
For a moment, Ferren cast his gaze on the necklace he was given. He moved to take a moment to put it on, briefly resting the flute he had down. It only took but a minute or so, then he had the flute back in hand again, where he heard Rykan speak.
"The nearest city, I know where that is, I can show you." The nearest city was where he had come from. It was dangerous to live out in the woods. He use to, but his family thought better of it.
Ferren didn't miss Ryakn's actions. "Are you looking for your flute." He spoke this, going over to Rykan and holding it out. "Here." He reached out to take the others hands and rest the flute in them.
"I held onto it, with all the commotion." He referred to the attack by the vampire. He felt he couldn't just drop it, or let it be damaged. Clearly it meant something to Rykan, so he did his best to keep it safe.

Rykan smiled at the offer. "Thank you Ferren," he said, his heart full of care for the boy. He could feel himself falling in love with the Jshiko, yet it didn't scare him as much as it should have. It simply felt right.
The flute was placed in his hands and Rykan blinked, thanking the boy again. "You are very considerate of others. That's not normally a Jshiko trait." he observed, expertly cleaning and dismantling the flute, putting it away and strapping it onto his back along with his bag.
He found his scabbard, and began to walk about the clearing until his foot came across something metal. Picking up his sword, he sheathed it awkwardly and turned towards Ferren again.
"Would you care to show me the way?" He asked, before blushing. "Forgive me. That was rude. Are you in need of any food or water before we go?" Rykan asked, a little embarassed for his momentary rudeness.

"You really don't have to thank me." The Jshiko, really didn't think he needed to be thanked for something he wanted to do. Something he really felt he should do.
Ferren couldn't help but think on the mannerisms of his kind with what Rykan said. Weren't they? Well, they had reason to go off and keep away from others. They were far too easy prey. Something he recalled when he remembered he was missing a few relatives because of that.
For a moment, Ferren merely observed Rykan until he heard his question. It seemed he was ready for him to guide him. It was something he was moving to do, when he heard what he said next.
What was there to forgive? It was a question that came to the young Jshiko as he looked at Rykan. How much time had passed? Was he hungry? He supposed it had been awhile since he ate. But he wasn't going to slow them down to eat or get something to drink. Although a drink would be nice now. He could always get one when he got home.
"I'm fine," He spoke, a faint smile once again set upon his features. "Here, I'll lead the way for you now." With that said, Ferren came up quickly besides Rykan, taking his hand in his. "It's actually where I come from, so I would know the place well." He meant to say, he wouldn't go about getting lost. Something he wanted the other to know as he moved forward, recalling the way to get home quite clearly.

Rkan blinked in surprise as the boy took his hand. Sparks of electricity shot through him and his beast growled in happiness. This was right. He found that the boy radiated a calm warmness, and Rykan walked with him in content silence.
He knew when they reached the city, because the sounds and smells were overwhelming. Rykan furrowed his nose, but followed Ferren steadfastly, blocking out all the noise.
