“That’s good…” sighed the boy. “I won’t ever forget you, so I don’t want you to forget me… I like hearing you say you love me and I like spending time with you. I wish we had more time. We only have today and that’s it. Because…I have to go to school and you have work…so… Ne, I’m glad you think about me. It makes me feel happy to know that you think of me during your day. It’s almost as though we’re together if we think about each hard enough, ne? Like the other is really there… It’s…almost the same…right?”
It wasn’t really the same. To think about someone and to actually have them with you wasn’t the same, but he could pretend it was the same. Chiaki knew he couldn’t really spend his whole day with Devon. The other had a life and things to do. Besides that, his parents would ask where he’d been and wouldn’t take kindly to someone trying to take their son away. He could see it now… Yep, it wouldn’t be pretty at all. Chiaki opened his eyes slowly to stare at the other again. He was still tired and didn’t feel like getting up. It seemed like everyone was against them. There were many people that wouldn’t like them to be together. Even though it wasn’t right, Chiaki still wished those people would disappear. He knew it was wrong to want something as bad as that, but it’d be better that way. It wasn’t their fault that they couldn’t understand. It wasn’t their fault at all and he didn’t hold it against them. It was fine if they were just scared. People were always scared of things they couldn’t understand and maybe if everyone could understand his feelings, they’d let them be. Of course, he doubted that would happen any time soon. So right now, maybe it was just best to go somewhere they wouldn’t be hated by anyone. It’d be better if they went somewhere far away.
“Maybe…I should wish harder... If I wish harder, maybe someone will listen and stop tomorrow from coming…” the boy said, though he didn’t believe in his words. “Just don’t wake up. We won’t wake up for tomorrow… What if…this person can’t help us? I…don’t want to be all alone. I don’t like being all alone Devon… I’ll do my very best, ne? I’ll do my very best and try not to cry, so don’t worry about me. I can do it… If it’s for Devon, then I can definitely do it. I’ll be sad if you worry too much…so don’t. Just…don’t worry about anything… I’ll be alright. Just…fine…”
He wanted to be strong for this person. He didn’t want the other to think he was weak or worry that he couldn’t take care of himself. Chiaki wasn’t a child anymore and knew how to take care of himself. The other didn’t need to worry so much about him or think he was a little kid. He hated it when people called him a child because he wasn’t one. By now, he could do more things than other people his age. He had been through enough that he wasn’t a child anymore. The way he saw it, he hadn’t ever really been a child. This world he had been raised him had made him into an adult from an early age. That’s why he wouldn’t cry. Crying was for children and he didn’t want to cry anymore. He’d be an adult and stay strong. Even though he’d have to be apart from the other and all alone, he wouldn’t let it get to him. He wouldn’t let the pain in his heart get to him or make him become weak. It had always been hard for Chiaki to believe in himself or think he could do something right. Most of the time he was being scolded and such, so he had never had much confidence. That’s why it was such a big deal that he was doing this now. It was a big deal that he was being brave and trying his very best to become a strong person.

Devon didn't know what else to say to sooth his mate. He didn't want Chiaki to fear. There was nothing on this Earth that could tear them apart. It was more than love. If Chiaki was taken from him he'd fight-in any form-to get him back. "He can help us. He helped my mom when my father died, so I know he can....You'll never be alone Angel. Ever. You're mine and I won't let you be alone. I'll try not to worry, but i'll think of you. And the next time we get together we'll have tons of fun and i'll make you forget we were ever apart." He kissed him soundly, remembering that they were still naked and intertwined.
"Now, getting off sucha saddening topic, how about we get cleaned up and I take you for some ice cream of something...." The thought of sleep seemed to have faded right from his mind. He carressed gently at his lovers back, raising a brow in question. Their clothes were clean in the dryer by now and they could go any place Chiaki wanted. "Come on love, no matter how much I want to just lay here with you, I want to see you smile again." He touched the necklace that had fallen over his mates heart, leaning up on an elbow to smile at him. "I'm not sure if you'll be sore. If so, we can get a taxi or something or I can run down to the store and we can have our own little party here....a celebration of sorts since I can't give you a big wedding and stuff...." With the necklaces and the way they had mated, he felt married to the other. They were bonded beyond anything a preacher could give them and he didn't feel the need to stand up in front of a church to prove his love. He could prove it by keeping his mate smiling, keeping him happy and content.

He wondered what sort of person Devon’s uncle could be. If the other had done so much for Devon and his family already, was it alright to ask for more? He wondered whether it would be okay to ask for such a person’s help. The man seemed to be someone reliable, or at least Chiaki thought so by what Devon had told him. It sounded nice to have a relative that would help out like that when you needed it. Devon was lucky indeed to have such a good parent and nice relatives. He felt better knowing his mate was around such kind people. It would have made him sad to think he was leaving the other in the care of bad people. It was irrational for him to worry about a grown man, but he wanted to know his lover would be fine without him. It was a bit arrogant to assume the other wouldn’t be alright without him, but Chiaki couldn’t help but feel like Devon needed him to be there for him always. He hoped he hadn’t upset Devon by telling him what he thought of his home. He had probably made the other feel bad about leaving him in such a place, but he hadn’t meant to.
“I…like ice cream a lot,” admitted the boy. “Eh? Sore…? Is that why I can’t get up? It’s really odd Devon…and not my waist hurts a little too… Ne, I want to go with you, but I can’t get up… What should I do? This is unfair, don’t you think? Why is my waist hurting like this? It’s…kind of weird, isn’t it? I’ve never had something this weird happen before…”
It made him a bit sad he couldn’t get up. He had wanted to spend time with his mate, but it seemed he couldn’t because he couldn’t even get up correctly. The boy sat up a little and winced. He was sore in several places and his waist was giving him problems now. It was safe to assume he wasn’t getting up anytime soon. He didn’t like staying in bed while Devon went out, but maybe that was the only option they could take at this point. He didn’t want to be carried around by Devon all day and besides, it hurt to move. He gave the other a smile so that he wouldn’t notice the discomfort and tried to act natural. He didn’t want to upset his mate by making him worry about him even more. Devon was already worrying about him and such. The boy shifted in the bed and tried to find a position that wasn’t so uncomfortable to be in. It made him happy that the other fussed over him so much, but he didn’t want to make the other feel like he had to do things for him. He didn’t want Devon to think he was a wuss either.
Even though he was hurting a little, he didn’t want the other to think he couldn’t take it or that he was weak. It wasn’t like he was in a huge amount of pain. He just found that it was hard to walk and that he was sore in some places. It wasn’t anything too bad and he didn’t want his mate to think it was serious. Besides, worrying did nothing good. They always worried about each other and it never did anything. Worrying only upset people and he didn’t want to upset his lover. The necklace against his chest brought some comfort. It felt like he was connected to the other as long as he had this piece of jewelry. He’d never take it off and when he got lonely, it’d help him think of Devon. When he was sad and lonely, he’d only think of his mate and maybe he wouldn’t feel that way anymore. Perhaps he’d finally he able to stop being so scared if he had the other backing him up. Someday he’d stand up to his family. Someday…he really would… If Devon was with him, he could do it.

Devon chuckled and stroked hair out of his mates face. "You, my little Chiaki, are too innocent of an angel for your own good." He kissed him gently and sat up completely, stretching his satisfied muscles. "We're going to get a shower first, which i'll help you with, and then i'll get you settled and take five minutes to get ice cream." He could feel the pain through their bond that had sprung up and would've been smug about it if he wasn't worried. "Come on, love." He stood by the bed and carefully pulled Chiaki up, a shoulder going around him to steady him as the boys feet touched the floor.
He led the sore boy out of his room and into the bathroom, letting him leaning against the shower wall to detour to the wash room. He gathered their clothes and walked back, dropping them in a neat pile on the sink. "Alright...time to get a shower...." He paused, turning the water on a bit to check the temperature, let alone if they even had water anymore. It came out warm and he turned it up, sliding the door shut. He turned back to his mate and grabbed up a bar of soap. "I wash you and you wash me or do you just want to wash yourself?" He quirked a brow in question, amusement sparkling in his eyes. This is what they needed-disractions by their love so they didn't have to think of the bed things to come.

It was nice being carried by the other, even if he was pain. He’d never had someone treat him like he was the most important thing in the world. Being the youngest, he’d always been last place in everything, including his parent’s affections. He supposed that’s why the other’s affections meant so much to him. Devon was the first to treat him as though he weren’t invisible. It felt nice to be treated as though he were a person and not something to be used. Somehow, his parents made him feel like a tool, something to be used and thrown away. With his mate, he didn’t feel that way at all. When they were together, other people didn’t matter at all. It was like they were the only people that mattered at the moment. Chiaki let the other lead him into the bathroom. He had to admit he felt sticky and sore right now. A bath sounded quite nice. It was tiring to do those kinds of things with Devon, but they were fun anyway. He wondered if Devon had liked it too. It seemed that way, but he wanted to make sure he had done everything right. After all, it was only his second time and he hadn’t had much experience in the area. When did you get good at this sort of thing anyway? He hoped it was soon because he really wanted the other to like him a lot.
He tilted his head as the other asked him a question. They were bathing together? He’d never taken a bath with another person before and he knew it’d be fun if it was with Devon. It was fun to be around the other, but in the back of his mind, he was still worried about his parents. He knew they’d do something to make his miserable because it’s what they did. When he was with them, his heart was always hurting. Sometimes he cried, he cried until his eyes turned red and his head hurt. That’s why he liked being around the other. When he was with this person, there were no tears, just happiness. Sometimes he wished his parents would disappear and leave him alone. It was a bad thought to have, so he always tried to not feel that way. He knew he still loved his family, but sometimes they made him feel so low that he hated them a little. He didn’t want to think about things like that right now, so he concentrated on Devon.
“I’d like to take a bath with you,” he smiled. “Ne, help me get cleaned up, okay? It’s hard to reach certain spots when my waist hurts… Do you have a rubber ducky? I know it sounds silly…but they’re lots of fun! I have one, but my brother says they’re only for little kids. I like it still, though. Ne, do you sing or anything in the bath. I do sometimes. My brother does, but he thinks no one can hear him. He’s terrible.”
Chiaki hadn’t noted the other’s perverted glint or the amusement the other had. The boy had always been naïve and a little too trusting for his own good when he wanted to be. When he did trust someone, he followed them blindly, which made it a good thing the only person he’d ever trusted was Devon. The boy would believe anything the other said and do anything the other wanted. That was just how much he loved this person. Usually he was suspicious and cautious, but not around Devon. Around the other he couldn’t help but believe the man’s words and listen when he said something. Chiaki valued what the other had to say and considered him his only friend. Devon was the only person he could consider close to him and never wanted to see that person get hurt. That’s why he wanted to make sure the other was happy at all times. No matter what, he wanted the other to always be smiling.

Devon listened to his chattering, lathering up a washrag so he could wash his little lover. "Sorry love, i don't have one but i'll get one just for you so next time we take a bath together, you can have your ducky." He grinned and moved up, turning him to face the wall so he could start at his back. He brought the rag up gently, slowly so he didn't hurt his already sore lower back. He moved down over his thighs and stroked the rag back up his ribs to his shoulder blades and neck. "I don't sing either. my voice is crappy for it. Why don't you go ahead and sing? I'll be your willing audience."
The rag, worked beneath his hand, moved to his mates chest. He moved until they were pressed together, his head resting on the boys shoulder. Gently he washed him, every inch until the soap was running down Chiaki's body in white rivulets and he was glowing pink. "There love, all done. Now, do you want me to do your hair too?" He was already dumping shampoo into his palm and pushing his lover under the spray, silver hair darkening to grey. He lathered up his hair, spiking it and laughing in delight at how adorable he looked. Having a shower, let alone doing anything, with his angel was fun. He loved him so and he couldn't wait until it was just them, in their own house somewhere. He'd like that very much.

What they were doing now reminded Chiaki of what they had done in bed. For one thing, Devon was touching him all over like before. It was rather nice he supposed. It was much better than taking a bath all alone. Chiaki had never really liked being all alone, so he was happy to be able to spend time with Devon. It didn’t matter what they did as long as they were together. No one had ever been this gentle with him before and he rather enjoyed getting so much attention. He let Devon clean him even though he was more than capable of doing it himself. It was much more fun when Devon did it anyway. He felt like a child that needed someone to do things for him and even though he wasn’t really a child, he still enjoyed this treatment. He’d never asked for help before. Even when he had needed it, he had never asked for help. But when he was with Devon, he didn’t need to ask for things because the other just helped him. It made him feel happy that Devon did things for him because he wanted to, not because he had been asked to. It was something small and insignificant, but it meant a lot to Chiaki. He treasured all his moments with his mate. Whether they were good or bad, he’d treasure them all. He simply loved Devon that much.
“Eh? Really?! You’ll buy me a ducky!” Grinned the boy. “That’s really nice of you because I really like ducks. They’re really cute. I can’t sing either… I wish I could, but I can’t. I have a sucky voice too. Eh? You’ll wash my hair too? Alright. Ne, do you think it’d look better a different color? It’s kind of an odd color… I could dye it. Ne, we should take baths together all the time! It’s really fun and I like it when you’re here with me. I wish I could just stay here because it’s lots of fun here, don’t you think so too? That’s why I like your house so much! It’s lots of fun.”
He was so close to Devon right now that he was sure he could hear the other’s heartbeat. The feeling of the other’s fingers in his hair was soothing. The shampoo smelled nice, but it didn’t smell like Devon at all. Even if the other were to wear all kinds of scented things, he still had a unique scent about him that Chiaki could always recognize. He leaned into the other’s touch and closed his eyes. This was heaven. He didn’t need anything else but this person. If they could have moments like this every day, then Chiaki would be happy. Everyone thought that by getting whatever you wanted, you’d be happy. Living in a big house and have lots of money had never brought Chiaki happiness. People never seemed to understand that the house wasn’t a home, it was a prison. Even if you wanted to escape, they’d find you. Chiaki had always been forced to do things he didn’t like. Whether it was dressing up to go to boring parties or pretending he wanted the same things as his parents, it had always been one big lie. It had never stopped. More and more lies had been added until Chiaki had forgotten what was real and what wasn’t. For a second, Chiaki thought he was going to cry, so he was glad the other put him under the shower. His tears were washed away and the other’s hadn’t seen. It had only been a few tears anyway. Soon, they were gone and he was back to having fun with Devon.
“Ne, sorry again you had to miss work… But today was really fun!” Insisted the boy. “We have to go this again, okay? Very soon because I never have fun like this, only when I’m with Devon! I love a lot. So let’s have more fun today. That way I won’t forget today when I have to leave… If I have a good memory to remember, then I won’t be so sad anymore when I’m all alone…”

Devon gently maneuvered Chiaki under the spray again, hand making a visor over the others eyes so no shapmoo suds went into them and burned. The shampoo washed away leaving Chikai's beautiful hair to lay against his pale neck. "Yes, i'll buy you the ducky because you're special tome and deserve it. We should...take baths together more often, that is, adn your hair..." he reached out to touch it, pulling locks of it between his fingers. "It looks wonderful the way it is, love. Don't go changing it now because the color is uniquely you, alright?"He stepped back and picked up a rag, lathering it up with soap so he could wash before the water ran cold. His love was thinking again. He could see it in his face as he stared. His red eyes dulled whenever he thought and he hoped it was good things. He hated when he mate thought about bad things-not that he'd known Chiaki long but that didn't stop him.
"It's alright," he washed down his chest, " I would miss work any day for you. We'll go and get ice creamand have a party and make everythign special just for you. I love you to Chiaki, remember that, always. No matter what happens, or how long it takes us to be together, you remember that." He dropped the rag, completely covered in soap now and pressed his lover back against the wall so he could stand in the spray. He watched him, a smile on his face as the soap ran off. Leaning forward he kissed him gently, hair successfully plastered to his head before he reached for the shampoo. "Want to wash my hair?" He asked, raising a brow.

“It makes me happy that you like my hair,” smiled the boy. “I don’t like it, but I’m glad you do. If you like it, then I won’t change it. Ne, I like your hair too. It’s soft and it smells nice. I like it when you call me special. You’re…a really nice person Devon… Don’t change because I like you the way you are now, okay? Can we take a bath together every time I can over to your house? It’s lots of fun and I like sitting like this with you. I’m not lonely at all right now.”
He was glad he hadn’t gotten soap in his eyes because that stung. Right now he felt very clean, unlike before that he’d felt sticky. It hadn’t been a bad feeling to be sticky like before, but he liked water a lot and this had been lots of fun. It was easy for Chiaki to forget his troubles when he was with the other. He’d always felt so lonely, but not anymore. It was better to do things with Devon than to do them alone. He’d always thought it was easier to be alone, but he’d been wrong. He couldn’t be alone again. Now that he knew what it felt like to be loved by someone, it was hard to go back to the way things were. Chiaki wasn’t sure he could and he didn’t want to try. He didn’t want to know what it was like to not be loved. Such a thing…would really hurt inside. He didn’t like hurting. Pain wasn’t something Chiaki dealt well with. He was had always been weak he supposed. He’d also never had to do real manual labor or anything dangerous. Most of his life had been sheltered and he’d been kept protected for the most part from harmful things. Like his brothers, he was pampered and spoiled, which made it a miracle he hadn’t ended up bratty and capricious like his siblings.
“Ne, it’s not good to miss work, so I’ll try not to make you miss anymore, okay? I really like ice cream…so thank you very much Devon,” grinned the boy. “I know you love me and that’s what makes me really happy. Even if it takes forever, that’s okay because I’ll still love you more than anyone else! It’s fine… Because I have memories of us together, so it’s okay…that…we won’t be together. It makes me happy inside too that I have something to remember you by… I don’t like forgetting.”
Chiaki liked to remember things, even when they were painful. It was better to keep memories, even the bad ones. It wasn’t fair to forget things. Forgetting was more painful in the long run anyway because memories didn’t just vanish and when they suddenly came back, that really hurt inside. He was glad he had something to remember Devon by. Even if it was just memories, he wanted to treasure them. It was hard to know when they could be together. Everyone seemed to want them apart and it’d be difficult to hide this from his family. Not only that, but he had a fiancée too and she wouldn’t like it if he ditched her for someone else. He’d never met her before, but he knew people didn’t like to be dumped and generally got angry about it. He was sure there would be a lot of angry people if he didn’t go through with that marriage, but he didn’t want to think about it. It hurt to think about such things. Chiaki reached out to touch the other’s soft hair, running his fingers through it a little. It felt nice at the touch and he enjoyed doing this sort of thing. He wouldn’t mind washing the other’s hair like the man had to him just a few moments before.
“Devon’s hair is so soft…” commented the boy. “Ne, I like touching your hair a lot; it’s fun. Can I braid it or something after we finish taking a bath and drying off? I think it’ll be lots of fun!”

Devon loved the way Chiaki rambled. There would never be a dull moment in their lives, he knew, because his mate could fill it with sweet conversation and compliments. "I want to keep you happy so no matter what, no matter how much work I miss ir what not, i'll be there to make you happy." He picked up the boys hand and squeezed some shampoo into it, bringing the hand up to tangle in his hair. "Alright. You can do what you want with my hair," he smiled and tipped his head a little so Chiaki would have no problem washing his hair for him.
Trully he enjoyed when his mate touched him. It soothed the beast inside him and sometime, he knew, he'd have to show Chiaki that side of him. He couldn't change anything about himself especially the part that could turn into a giant cat. Earrings clicking, dripping with water he smiled down at his lover, hands settled on the boys waist to steady him. Dark crimson eyes ran over the others body but he had no intention of taking him again. Not yet anyways. He wanted to give the tiny boy time to get used to how his body felt, wanted to give him time to heal from the first two times. He was going to hate telling him goodbye, watching as Chiaki disappeared back into his old life with his abusive family. He didn't want to say goodbye. It was going to hurt when he had to go to work and pretend nothing had happened between them. Oh, he'd have the memories, and the necklace over his heart to remind him, but it wasn't the same as having his mates body next to his, of having the ability to rech out and feel warm skin and silver hair beneath his fingers.
Sighing, taking in the others scent he relaxed, the warm water beating down on them as Chiaki worked over his dark hair.

“Ne, can I have an earring like yours?” The boy asked randomly. “It looks really pretty. It makes Devon look really cute, so I want one too.”
He continued to run his fingers through the other’s hair, making sure to wash it thoroughly. It was nice being close to the other. Being apart was painful. Chiaki had never cared before if someone had left him. After all, maybe people had left him behind before. They were all the same in the end. Everything always turned out to be a lie somehow. That’s why when someone walked out on him, Chiaki had held his head up high and refused to let the person see him cry. But if this person did that, he was sure the tears would never stop. That’s why he never wanted the other to leave. He never wanted to cry again. It was hard to continue when he was crying a lot. He reached out to touch one of the earrings that dangled from his mate’s ear. Chiaki had always wanted one, but had never gone through with it. There were lots of things he’d never done because of fear. Fear was something that kept people in check he supposed. It made you think twice about what you were about to do and sometimes kept you from doing something you really wanted to do. That was just the kind of emotion fear was.
“Ne, it’s late now, isn’t it?” Asked the boy. “I haven’t been home in a while and I’m sure my brothers will get mad. I don’t want to leave yet, but I think it’s best or I’ll get you in lots of trouble. But don’t forget me while I’m away or I’ll get sad! I promise to call, alright? And you have a computer, right? There’s e-mail, or we can write letters. I’ve never had someone to write letters to, so that will be fun.”
He had almost forgotten about his home. He’d been so happy that he’d nearly forgotten about that place. Sometimes it felt like it’d be easier to forget that place and go somewhere else, but he couldn’t do that. They’d always find him and he had a duty to live up to. Even though he resented those people and didn’t want to follow the path they had set for him, he still had to go back. If anything he was doing it for Devon. The other would definitely be in trouble if someone found out they’d been together like this. His family wasn’t forgiving. They’d made it clear they wouldn’t tolerate foolishness or stupidity from any of them. Something like this would never be forgiven. That’s why he had to hide it from everyone. Of course, he wasn’t sure he could lie. If they asked him whether he loved Devon, he wouldn’t be able to lie and say no because his heart would bleed if he said something like that. His heart couldn’t lie like that and neither could his words. That’s why if he was asked something like that, he’d have to say the truth.
The boy rested his head on the other’s shoulder and wrapped his arms around the other’s neck. The other was wet like he was, but it made sense since they were in the shower. The water felt nice and he felt very clean at the moment. It was warm. When he was this close to the other, it was always warm. Maybe Devon was just naturally warm or it was something else, but Chiaki never felt cold or lonely with this person. It was rather nice to be with this person. People had always seemed so cold to the boy. Even when they’d been close, they’d always been so cold. Even their hearts had been cold. It was a certain look you could see in the eyes of others, they had cold hearts. Deep inside, everything was frozen and uncaring. But not Devon. This person had a warm heart and Chiaki could feel it beating inside the other’s chest. It was like a lullaby and Chiaki was sure that if he listened to it long enough, he’d fall fast asleep.

Devon grinned and let his hands rest on the wall of the shower, tilting his head back furthur and preening. "Sure Chi...if you really want one go ahead and get one. You'd look adorable and even sexier than you already do," he winked at the boy and let him touch his earrings. He'd never let another touch them. They had been his property, something he could have that no one was allowed to touch. But he didn't mind his tiny lover touching. In fact, it felt heavenly. The boys next words brought them back to the real world and he nodded solemly, stepping under the spray to rinse shampoo from his hair. "Yeah, i should get you home. We'll have ice cream on the way and i'll drop you off. If I get time, i'll call too and I have a computer. I'll give you my e-mail then." He kissed him softly when he leaned against him. Chiaki's body was wet against his and if the other hadn't been hurting from their last bout of making love, he would've suggested having him right on the shower floor.
Turning off the spray he opened the door and walked Chiaki out with him, grabbing his largest towel to wrap around both of them. "There...all warm now," grinning he rubbed them both down until Chiaki's skin glowed red before taking the towel off and tossing it in the hamper. He had no qualms about going naked in front of his mate, and enjoyed seeing Chiaki's lithe body. The other was thin with almost feminine curves and his skin matched his beautiful silver hair. He handed him his clothes and then, because the other couldn't very well bend over, helped slip the lacy panties on. "Atleast they didn't shrink," he kissed the boys hip from his position before standing and pulling on his pair of boxers. When they were both dressed and Chiaki was blushing prettily, he led him downstairs, locked up the house, gathered his money from the night before and stepped outside, facing the day with Chiaki by his side.
"Is there an ice cream parlour by your house somewhere? If not there's one right down the street here...." the boy was going to have a tough time walking. Snaking an arm around his waist he held him up, slowly matching his pace to Chiaki's so he wouldn't have to work to keep up.

Chiaki wondered when he’d stop smiling. It seemed like this whole day, all he’d done was smile. There was a warm feeling in his heart and he wanted to spend more time with his mate. Of course, he knew that his smile wouldn’t last much longer. Even though he wanted to keep smiling, he knew he couldn’t if Devon wasn’t there with him. His home wasn’t the place where people smiled. It was lonely there. Sometimes he thought that even his brothers hated that house. Even though they got everything they wanted, he was sure they were lonely too. Because it was only natural for people to become lonely. When you were all by yourself and had no one else to rely on, you eventually became sad. Chiaki had become sad a long time ago and he was sure somewhere along the line, his siblings had become sad too. Maybe his brothers did bad things because they were sad and lonely. It made sense when you thought of it that way. They were all sad in that house. No one came out and said it out loud, but everyone felt this way. It was like if they said those words out loud, everyone else would be forced to realize their own feelings too. It was probably best not to say those words to them yet because maybe they just weren’t ready. People never liked the truth. No matter what they said or if they claimed to be ready to hear what you said, the words never failed to break something inside that person. None of the people at Chiaki’s house were as strong as they thought they were, so he knew they wouldn’t like to hear what he said. It was unlike here. In Devon’s home, such emotions didn’t exist.
“Ne, I’m glad we can talk to each other all the time,” admitted the boy. “I don’t think I could go on if I didn’t have you. That house… Ne, I don’t think it’s the sort of place that should be called home. Ice cream sounds fun right now. We should do things together often, okay? It’s a lot more fun when you do things with someone else than when you’re alone.”
He let the other take him out of the tub and couldn’t help but enjoy the other dry him off. Chiaki knew his skin had probably turned slightly pink, but he didn’t mind. It felt nice just knowing the other was so close. He knew the other was staring, but all he could do was stare back. Even though Devon could be this casual, Chiaki could not. He wasn’t used to taking his clothes off in front of others, so it was a bit unusual for him to let someone stare at his body when he wasn’t wearing anything. Even so, he tried not to let the other know he was a little uncomfortable. After all, if anyone was to see him naked, he wanted it to be Devon. This person was his mate and had every right to see him in such a state. Someone else wouldn’t be allowed such a privilege. He blushed even more when the other slipped his underwear back on. Chiaki was glad he was at least wearing something now, though he wished he hadn’t worn such embarrassing underwear. Sure he had boxers and stuff somewhere, but for some reason, he really liked lacy things. Sure it wasn’t very manly and most boys didn’t think about wearing such things, but Chiaki liked them and that’s what mattered. He didn’t care if anyone else liked them, though he was very glad Devon didn’t tease him about them. It didn’t take long to get dressed and Chiaki soon found himself outside with Devon. He felt the other’s arm hold him and it felt nice.
“I don’t think there’s an ice place near my house…but we can go to the one you like! Ne, I don’t live that far from here. Do you know where Izumi Academy is? That’s my school and my house is in that area,” he told the other. “It’s okay if you don’t know where that is. I’m sure we’ll find it.”

The babbling of his mate was comfortable. Devon liked how Chiaki could flit from one topic to the next like a little butterfly. It added to his cuteness and Devon chuckled, tugging on a lock of hair without letting go of the boy or slowing their pace. "You're adorable and yes, i'm glad about all of those things too." He tilted hi shead thinking...Yes, he had heard of Izumi Academy. It was for very rich children whose parents had no desire to put them in public schools. He'd passed it once, when he'd had a job at delivering papers and books for his mothers store. The grounds were immaculate, the walls sterile and boring. He'd thanked God that he'd never had to go, especially at the sight of the wrought Iron fence that wended all the way around the school. The thought that his cheerful little mate had to go to school there had him frowning.
He stopped at the ice cream parlour with Chiaki and ordered them each a cone-getting whatever his little mate desired. Afterwards heslipped his arm around him again and began leading him away. "yeah, i know where it is....nice neighborhood." Nicer than his atleast. There, where Chiaki lived, a person didn't have to worry about getting shot or mugged. His tongue darted out to lap at his chocolate cone and he glanced at his mate.
"Like your ice cream?" The boy was licking enthusiastially and Devon knew he'd have to stop and kiss him silly before dropping him off.

It felt like he was on a date with Devon. Chiaki had never been on a date before, so it wasn’t like he knew what it felt like to be on one or anything, but he was assuming how he felt now was like how people felt when they were on dates. Either way, he was going to consider this his first date. From what he’d seen in movies and such, they had done all the things you did on a date. The other had gotten him ice cream and even held his hand. Right now, Devon was walking him home, which was what all guys did after a date was over. So…this was a date. The thought made Chiaki happier, though he didn’t like that it was over. It seemed like their time together had gone by too fast. They had hardly enjoyed their time together before they had to part. But he’d enjoy the time they were spending together right now. That way he’d have lots of memories with Devon. The boy continued to lick his ice cream and was doing a rather messy job of eating. He wiped his mouth with the napkin he had been given at the ice cream shop and tried not to eat so quickly. It wasn’t like he could help it, though. He rather liked ice cream. It was sweet and cold, two things Chiaki liked about food.
“I guess…it’s nice where I live,” shrugged the boy at the other’s comment. “It’s always really quiet, especially outside. It only gets loud when there’s a party, but I don’t like parties. They’re boring and you have to dress up in ugly clothes. I don’t like that all. But you know, sometimes it’s a little scary how quiet it gets around here. Because no one laughs or cries. It’s like watching one of those silent films. Everyone moves around and even when they speak, they never actually say anything. It’s funny how some people can talk a lot and yet say nothing at the same time. There are lots of people like that where I live. I think they just like the sound of their own voice or something like that, don’t you think? I think that’s the only time I wish for the silence to come back. When they don’t stop talking, I wish for it to be quiet. But when it gets too quiet, I want the noise to come back. It’s really weird where I live I guess, ne?”
They were getting closer to his home. Chiaki knew this and he wanted to turn back. If he asked it of the other, Devon wouldn’t take him home. He knew the other was the type of person that wouldn’t make him do something he didn’t want. Devon was kind and wanted him to be happy, but even so, Chiaki didn’t want to ask. It would have been selfish of him to ask something like that of Devon. The other had done enough for him already. Asking for more would have been wrong. Chiaki had never been good at asking for things. He had never really wanted more than what he was given, so he hadn’t thought to ask for more. He had left things the way they were and that’s why he didn’t know how to ask things from Devon, not that he wanted to. Chiaki wanted to be a good person. He wanted to be someone that deserved to be with Devon. That’s why he was doing his best to not be selfish. The other would get in trouble if they stayed together. Chiaki wasn’t stupid. He knew what kind of bad things would happen to his mate if his parents decided to make the man’s life a living hell. So he’d be brave and go back to that cold house. He’d be strong and wouldn’t even cry. Though he was known to cry a lot, Chiaki didn’t want to cry anymore. He’d show everyone that he could be strong if he needed to be.
“I really like this ice cream,” he said in hopes of lightening the mood. “Thanks for taking me out like this Devon. I really like it when we do things together, so this was lots of fun for me. We should do it again.”
