"I told you violence never solves anything." Kinome muttered. "It only ends up hurting everyone even more... " Kinome glanced up giving Adish a small smile. "I really respect the fact that you protect the one you love... even if you are too hot headed and resort to violence too quickly." Kinome hung his head. "It's more than I could ever do." He roughly brushed away his tears lest Adish see them. "I couldn’t even protect the one person I loved most." The tears, though brushed away from his face where audible in his voice.

Adish sighed. "You have to do what you do best," he admonished, "I'm not good for much of anything except fighting bastards off my brother then running away like coward. I'm not proud of it. It's just what I do," he said softly. He pulled Kinome into another hug. "And not go weeping again. I told you before, she was protecting you, remember? It's kind of pointless to try and protect the person that's protecting you! That's crazy! She wanted you to be safe, so she did what she had to." He tightened his grip on Kinome and kissed the Human's forehead.

Kinome shrugged. "That's not what my father said the first time he spoke to me after I left the hospital." He stated quietly. "He told me I was a failure. It was my fault she was dead. I should have protected her and that I was crazy. He was right on all accounts." Kinome brushed Adish off and returned to his work, falling back into silence.

Adish frowned. He hated how Kinome kept blaming his mother's death on himself. But how could it be otherwise when that's all people ever told him? The dragonis sighed heavily and followed after Kinome. "Even if you blame yourself, I don't. I think that if your father wanted her alive, he should have been there to protect her while she was protecting you. He's a sick old bastard if he thinks he can blame something like that on his own son," he spat. He knew it wasn't something the silver-haired boy wanted to hear, but Adish felt he needed to say it... Actually, he didn't really think about it; he rarely thought things through before he said them.

"Don't you dare talk about my father that way." Kinome hissed back in return. "Yes, he is sick. He's lost his mind and it's all because of me. All because he came home from work to find his wife's butchered body lying on the ground, pools of blood covering everything. All because he found his son, huddled in a cupboard but when he reached out to touch the boy, the boy screamed and screamed and screamed. He had to have his son committed. I was committed, did you know that?"
Kinome's eyes were cold steel. "When I finally got out... a year later, I found him convinced that he had lost both his wife and son. There is nothing anyone can do and it is my responsibility to help him seeing as if I had not lost it he might have had something to hold onto. Thereafter he swings between not knowing who I am and threatening me when he finds me in the house, thinking it is before my mother died and accusing me for failing to protect my mother."
Kinome threw the broom to the ground, the wooden handle making an uncomfortable clatter. "So don't you dare throw accusations around when you have no idea what the ‘f’ you are talking about." Silver hair swirled around him as he turned and stormed off, leaving his work and Adish behind, angry tears pouring down his face.

Adish stood still, staring wide-eyes at where Kinome had been standing. He felt horrible for letting himself yell at the Human like that, he hadn't meant to and he certainly hadn't meant to set the boy off like that.
The dragonis looked up to where Kinome had disappeared to and thought about going after him. He figured the boy wanted to be alone, or at least away from him, but he didn't think that was a very good idea to let Kinome brood.

Grabbing the rickety ladder and a bag of stock that needed to be placed on the higher shelves, Kinome used the heat of his anger to continue storming off. Reaching his destination he dropped the ladder, the wood making a loud noise against the ground and jumped up on it before he thought twice and forgetting to balance himself. Soon after he landed upon the ground hissing in pain. His wave of anger increased and he slammed his fist on the ground, with holding tears of frustation and pain. 'Damn it all. This was not his day at all.'

After searching for Kinome for a few minutes, Adish found the Human sprawled out on the ground, the ladder on the ground beside him. The dragonis rushed to Kinome and sat down next to him. "Kinome? Are you alright?" he asked urgently, gently pulling the boy onto his lap and wrapping his arms around him. He lightly kissed the silver-haired boy's temple and hugged him. "I'm sorry I said those things and got you mad," he mumbled into Kinome's hair, nuzzling the soft strands, "I say stupid things when I get angry. I was just mad that you were made to think that when... Nevermind, let's not talk about it. I only want you to be happy. I feel like you keep pushing me away, though.... like you don't want to be happy." The red-head kissed Kinome again, on the cheek this time. "You, of all the people I know, deserve to be happy the most. I'm sorry I made you mad... Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?" he asked gently.

Kinome hissed softly when Adish moved him, wincing at the sharp pain in his ankle. “I don’t deserve to be happy.” Kinome snapped, ignoring his throbbing ankle. A little physical pain was nothing. He shifted, wriggling out of Adish’s arms, biting his lip to keep himself from crying out.

Adish frowned. Why did the boy think so lowly of himself. "You aren't listening to me, Kinome," he stated firmly. If, before, he was angry, now he was livid. "You are the nicest person I know; the first person I've met in my life that didn't treat me like I was just some kinda scum bag. You're the only one that didn't act like I wasn't worth anything and that I was a shame to my family." The dragonis sighed loudly. "You... You're the first person to really see me, Kinome. You're so... If that doesn't.... Kinome, please, forget what those jerks told you, and listen to me: You deserve to be happy more than anyone, especially me." He lightly reached out and touched the Human's cheek. "Are you in pain? Do you need some help?" he asked softly.

Kinome shrugged, staring at the floor and sliding away from Adish, still sitting on the ground. "I'll be fine. No need to worry about me." he mumbled. "I don;t act like you are a shame to your family because compared to what I have done you would have to try really hard to outdo me. Now if you don't mind I need to get back to work." Kinome clenched his hands closed, knowing he was pushing Adish away but that was all he knew how to do. He didn't want Adish to see him the way he was now and knew he had no chance of ever getting better so it was best if he pushed him away now. He bit his lip, shifting his good foot under him and reaching for the shelves in order to stand up.

Adish frowned. Kinome thought that his mother dieing was anywhere near comparison to the things that he had done? Adish could almost laugh; there was no way. He stood up, offering a hand to Kinome, or rather, knowing he wouldn't have taken and grabbing the boy's hand anyway to help him up. He pulled the Human close to him and look him in the eye seriously. "You have no idea the things that I've done, so you can't even say that," he spat venemously. He let go of Kinome and stepped away, seeing if the boy could really stand on his own; he doubted it, so he kept his arms ready to stabalize the boy if need be. "I like you and all, but don't you dare say things like that without even bothering to try to know."

Kinome winced at the clear rougness and anger he could hear in Adish's voice. He literally seemed to shrink in on himself, leaning back to lean against the shelves that were behing him. he hung his head in shame. "I'm sorry." He whispered in a small voice. "I won;t do it again. I'm sorry." Kinome shrunk back further almiost as if he were afraid Adish were going to hit him. truth be tolf. he would not be surpsised. His apology was an instinctual reaction and what he always did in a situation like this.

Adish stared at Kinome's shrunken frame for a moment before sighing. "I'm not going to hit you, Kinome." He reached out to Kinome and pulled the boy into a light hug. "I would never do anything to hurt you," he mumbled. He sighed softly and nuzzled the boy's hair. He hated to fight with him, which seemed to be the only thing they did. "Are you sure you aren't hurt?" he asked softly, "You look like something's hurt."

"I'll be fine." Kinome insisted. he wasn;t about to admit he was hurt. Adish already thought he was a clutz and a baby... No need to add to the bed weak impressions he'd been giving the other thus far. If he could have, he would have been shifting awkwardly. He didn't know how to resond to Adish's overtly affectionate behaviour.
