Lakin glanced into the bridge when he heard the door to the computer mainframe open. A man was talking to Manni and gave him a disk. He tried to get a better look at his mate, but the man was in the way and then the door closed. Sighing, he went back to sending calming feelings, hoping it helped.

Manni was stunned. The culprit was the Second in Command, a Vampyre named Vlyte. After half an hour of adjusting the schedule and fixing the auto-pilot flight plan, Manni left the small room with a yawn, stretching out his cramped muscles. He ordered someone to bring Vlyte to him so he could chew him up and spit him out, so to speak. The man knew better than to do anything in that room without supervision, he had no idea what he was doing! 'He must have had alterior motives,' the Mentsequarian thought, but only for a fleeting moment before walking out into the hallway and collapsing against his mate.

Lakin hugged Manni tightly when he came out of the bridge. He looked exhausted. "Hey sweetie," he said softly, kissing his cheek. "How are you doing?" he asked. No one had told him anything, so he was worried. He thought if something bad happend to Mesk Manni would be more upset but... you never know. The boy could be too mentally drained something. His arms tightend around his mate.

Manni sighed against Lakin's neck. "I'm worn out. Vlyte completely screwed up the flight plan, we won't get to Pareninai until late tomorrow, or even the day after that! I've been working so hard, I just want to take a nap. Is that okay," he asked as he dozed off in his mate's arms.

Lakin smiled down at his sleeping mate. 'Poor Manni,' he thought. 'Stupid 'Vlyte'... putting my Manni through this....' He gently slid an arm under the boy's knees and the other around his back to pick him up. "Now I just need to find your room...," he trailed off quietly.
"Hey," someone said from behind him. He looked back and saw Barit. "Oh, he's sleepin'."
Lakin nodded. "Yeah, he's exhausted. You must've heard about what happend. Can you show me to his room? I forgot where it is," he whispered, blushing. The Zercan nodded and led him to Manni's room.
"Take good care o' him," Barit said and patted the brunette's head gently. "I will," he promised. The pilot left a moment later after opening the door. Lakin walked inside, shutting the door with his foot. He walked over to the bed and layed the boy on it carefully so he wouldn't wake up. After pulling the sheets over his mate he crawled in next to him and held him.

Manni woke with a yawn to find himself back in bed. He smiled as he curled up next to Lakin, throwing his arm over the other's waist and falling back to sleep.

"Mmm," Lakin groaned, snuggling closer to his mate. Manni was so warm.... "Huh?" he mumbled and opened his eyes. 'Must've fallen asleep,' he thought. He hadn't meant to, but oh well. He leaned up on one his arms and with the other hand brushed some hair from the boys face.
A smile lit up his face. 'Manni is so perfect...,' he thought contently. 'He's wonderful in what he does... perfect. I can't believe he envies me, I can't control my magic. I'm awful at it...." he sighed and kissed the brunette's nose.

Manni woked up much later to the sound of the dinner bell. He slowly got up, trying to be quiet and not wake Lakin, who was sleeping peacefully. Manni smiled at the picture the other made in his sleep. 'He's so cute... no, guys like him aren't cute! What's that word?' He ignored his thoughts, knowing that he wouldn't be able to come up with the exact word he was looking for until he completely stopped thinking about it. He carefully climbed off the bed, but was quickly pulled back down with a yelp.

Lakin laughed quietly when Manni yelped. He'd woken up when he heard a bell and felt the boy moving around, and he decided he didn't want him to leave. "Where are you going?" he asked seriously, placing his mate under him and resting his head on his stomach.

Manni made a weird giggle/sigh sound and started to softly run his fingers through the other's hair. Then, a thought struck him. "Lakin.... what are we going to do when we get to Sensaforia?"

Lakin smiled when Manni made a funny happy sound and ran his fingers through his hair. It felt good. "Lakin.... what are we going to do when we get to Sensaforia?" Manni asked.
"Oh," he mumbled. He hadn't really thought about it, actually. "I... I suppose you will have to meet my parents," he said, nuzzling his mate's stomach. "And then... I am not sure." He wondered if the other boy would want to stay on this ship. It seemed this was his life, working on this ship for Mesk and all. He didn't want to force him to leave. Sure, he didn't have any skills for a being a ship...person, but he wanted his mate to be happy. Besides, it wasn't like he did anything at home anyway.

Manni sighed again. "Well. I could train someone to work with Mesk. Then, I could stay with you. Or.... Do you know how to fly one of those little fighting things? Like Barit and them?" The thought made Manni laugh. He would probably stay with Lakin, especially if he lived on Pareninai, he really loved that planet.

"'Little fighting things'?" Lakin laughed. He was definately going to have to get used to his mate's unique vocabulary. The Wizard sobered up quickly though and placed his arms on either side of Manni so he could lean up. He gave him a serious look. "Would you really want to leave?" he asked. "Because we can stay here if you want. I would have to talk to Captain, but I'm sure I could work something out with him."

Manni shook his head violently. "No! You already have a home! All I have is this ship. And they only need me in case of emergency. I could easily teach someone else all about Mesk. You... I can't make you just give up your home!!"

"I can't make you give up yours either!" Lakin argued. He sighed and rolled off Manni to sit up. "I..." he trailed off, trying think of the right words. Shaking his head, he pulled the brunette into a sitting position and held his face in his hands gently. "I can leave my home, it does not matter to me. I want you to be happy. If you won't be happy away from here, tell me. Don't lie," he said softly.
