Lakin's eyes widened with every word that came out of his trembling mate's mouth. "Oh Manni," he mumbled, holding the brunette tightly and stroking his hair. He definately respected Captain a whole lot more, and was extremely grateful for the man. To think... Manni could have been eaten before they had even met.... A pain came to his heart, and anger at the Vampyre that had taken his mate as prey. It was awful. He held his mate tighter, thinking about all the things he would do to the man if he found him. He would ask Manni if he remembered the man's name, but didn't want to make his mate any sadder. "And you have me now. I'll protect you from those who want to hurt you. Be it Jauq or any other man. And don't be hesitant about telling me if some one has, or you think some one will," he whispered, giving him a chaste kiss.
"Manni, I love you so much," he said quietly, holding him even closer. The fear of losing him coming hard. He couldn't believe Manni had been so close to being murdered. "R-remember that. And if Jauq really means harm, I'll take care of him. Believe me, he won't get close to you."

Manni smiled softly at his mate. He knew Lakin would protect him, the humanoid could feel the wizard's determination and power. He kissed his mate and smiled. "Alright. I will, promise. But you have to promise not to make a mountain out of a mole-hill, so to speak, k?"

Lakin chuckled softly. "I'll try, but that's all I'm promising," he said. He jumped when there was a beeping sound, different than Ongi's noise though. Mostly because it filled the room from some kind of speaker, not from Manni's arm. "What is--" the wizard started but was inturrupted by Captain's voice.
"We have landed at the port on Parinenai! I repeat, we are on Parinenai!" he said before signing off.

Manni started laughing. "Ongi," he asked, turning on the computer, "Could you connect me to the bridge?"
Ongi grinned. "Sure." Manni nodded and waited until the green-haired AI was replaced by a picture of the Captain sitting in his chair. The man looked up at the engineer with a questioning look.
Manni smirked. "You remind me of shopping marts on Earth. 'Clean up on isle three. Clean up isle three'!" He giggled as the man raised an eyebrow and frowned goofily at him.
