It was close! Terry sprinted faster as he burst out of the forest and into the small town. Racing through the streets, green eyes darted left and right for any sign of his friend. Terry couldn't see Adam but he knew his friend had been here. Terry stopped at a familiar spot. It was the alley where he and Adam were tied down. His body shuddered violently at the memory. The boy looked around and noticed that the others weren't nearby, Terry figured he was running too fast he must have lost them in the crowd.
Just then, an abrupt movement caught the corner of his eye. There! It was transport! At the moment Terry couldn't see anyone in view, but he could hear Adam's familiar thoughts inside. Without a second thought, Terry raced inside. Green eyes were shocked. And the boy started for the blonde young man's unconscious body huddled against a far wall, however, the boy gasped as two rough hands wrapped around his waist from behind him. "Well..well...look who has come running back?" Terry's eyes widened even more, and without thinking he thrashed like he did before to try and get away, but again they were just too strong. Why? All Terry wanted to do was to protect Adam from them.

Demoiselle looked around frantically for Terry. How could I have been so stupid? Now I've lost him. Just then Demoiselle heard movement in a nearby alley and instantly began to race towards the noise and sure enough there was Terry. Demoiselle looked at the unpleasant looking man that held Terry. Keeping his calm only not to have to be violent infront of his innocent Terry he walked up to the man. "You have five seconds to let go of him or you'll be praying to had never existed in this world. So be a good rat and run away," hissed Demoiselle having the hardest time not riping this man to piece at just the sight of him, but he had Terry to look after.

Terry stopped his struggle to get away and both him and his captor looked up. The man still held the boy in his rough grasp, and he just laughed lowly, "Those are some pretty big words for one pathetic boy...you're in way over your head!"
Just then, Terry's eyes widened again as he saw who appeared behind. Koran, Gabriel and Demoiselle's friend, Feu, had raced and stood behind him. Terry could tell by looking at their faces, their thoughts said they were ready to back up Demoiselle's words at a moment's notice. Koran stepped forward, "You do not know who you're dealing with! Unhand the boy immediately!"
The man just chuckled. Then Gabriel looked over at the fallen blonde boy. His crystal blue eyes analyzing this situation, and it made him silently gasp. Knowingly, he spoke, accusation in his eyes, "You're Incubus?!" The man laughed, "At least one of you has intelligence."
Sensing the man was a little distracting by the new arrivals, Terry began to struggle to get free. "Don't worry about me everyone! Just get Adam and get out of here!" Terry screamed nodded to the blonde youth unconscious in the corner. Just then, Terry's shifted his weight and kicked the man right in his privates. However, Terry gasped as the man quickly recovered and growled at the boy, "I'll deal with your punishment for that later, brat!" He picked up Terry by the shoulders and threw the boy behind him. Terry's crashed into the far wall of the transport, and fell lifelessly to the floor.
Koran's eyes widened and nearly cried aloud as he saw this and he started toward the man, but was stopped by two more men. Now, he was occupied holding them off.

Demoiselle walked as the man threw Terry over his shoulder and roared in anger. "You think you can do what you please," growled Demoiselle throwing off the men that tried to get his way, "no one gets away with hurting Terry! I gave you your chance to run and you chose to ignore it. You will die here!!! Feu get Adam and leave." Demoiselle knew everyone was busy holding off everyone else, but Feu would hear him and do as he said when he had the chance. Demoiselle couldn't think about anyone right now though all he could think about was how this man had hurt Terry and how many painful ways he could make this man suffer. Demoiselle decided it'd be easier to fight in his dragonis form so quickly he switched forms and covered the room in a thick mist so he knew almost for certain that this man wouldn't be able to get away. Demoiselle then charge the man and quickly picked him up by his neck. "You die here for what you have done to my merman," announced Demoiselle getting ready to snap the man's neck.

(((Oh boy! Demoiselle's pissed off, and I think I caused it...*gulp* This is payback for all those times I made him worry about Terry isn't it? Also, you'll have to forgive me for cutting these action scenes short...I'm not that good at writing them...I'm more angst, romance....stuff)))
Koran had just threw another kick into a man's gut, and looked up in time to the Dragonis' youth change forms. His aqua gaze widened realizing his mind had said the same things when he found his beloved mate had been attacked. Calling over to his brother was blocking attacks, "Gabriel! Demoiselle and I can hold these guys off, you and the other Dragonis see to Terry and the other boy!"
Gabriel rushed over to the blonde boy, checking his vitals. His energy was dangerously low, but thankfully his wounds weren't life-threatening. "Feu, I need you to take him to a safe distance. I meet you as soon as I get Terry." Gabriel motioned for Feu to come to the blonde boy, as he himself stood and dodged another unconscious body thrown into a wall by Koran. He rushed over to Terry, and breathed a sigh of relief. Luckily, the boy's wounds had not reopened, he was only just unconsious.

Feu nodded to Gabriel's directions and quickly, carefully picked up the blonde-haired boy before beginnning to dodge bodies and run to safety. There at the entertance stood Laydum. "You could've helped," pointed out Feu not at all pleased that Demoiselle's father was being so difficult. "And I could have you arrested for helping my son escaped, but I'm not going to so we're even," reported Laydum his hard golden eyes watching his son. Maybe Demoiselle has found his mate. I've never seen him so anger nor fight so hard, but of all the species to mate with he had to pick a merman. The lowest thing on the food chain. -------- Demoiselle crushed his teeth against the man's neck enjoying the sound of snapping bones and cries of pain. "I wish I could make you suffer," growled Demoiselle feeling the blood running down his chin, "but you hurt Terry and I have to be there for him. You should thank him for amking your death more human." With all his angery words said Demoiselle wasted no time ripping out the man's jugular and smiling satisfied when he saw the man lay there lifelessly. All the fighting seemed to stop then. Maybe all the enemu had been taken care of or maybe they ran when they saw their boss being killed, Demoiselle didn't know and he didn't care all that was on his mind was Terry. Claim him, urged Demoiselle's inner voice,no one can them challenge you that he is not your's and you can then fully take care of Terry like he should be. Demoiselle shook his head refusing to do anything that Terry hadn't first agreed to, but he had to admit, he did like the idea of Terry being his...and only his.

Just as Koran had wrestled the last guys to the floor and watching the other weaker ones scampered off, he stood to brush himself off. Out of the corner of his eye, a few merman soldiers were running towards him. Koran supposed they had recognized him either that seen or heard the commotion the Dragonis had stirred up. "Everything's under control here. Return to your posts." Koran addressed them, "And send the message to others, reopen the Borders." The soldiers saluted professionally, when inside they were cheering excitedly. Then they dismissed.
Worried, Koran rushed over to and kneeled down next to Gabriel. At the moment, bright emerald eyes blinked. Terry pulled himself up on his hands and knees. He shook his green haired head, shaking away the dizziness he still felt. He looked up and focused on his Papa and Uncle. "I'm all right!" Terry smiled, seeing their worried eyes. With their help, Terry regained his balance and stood up. Looking around, green eyes widened and pulled away from his father and rushed over and wrapped his arms around Demoiselle. It was so strange. All Terry wanted to do was surround himself with Demoiselle's warmth that emitted from the Dragonis' body. Tears flowed from emerald eyes, "I'm sorry! I'm sorry I made you worry and have to go through all of this! I'm sorry you had to kill! Please don't do it again!"

Demoiselle's golden eyes widened it surprise as Terry hugged him. Why was he apologizing? He hadn't done anything? He was just happy that Terry was okay. And why was he so upset that he had killed someone?I wasn't like he hadn't killed anything for food. Never a person and certainly the thought had never crossed his mind to eat a merman, but he'd ate an occasional bird. Was something wrong with that?Dragonis' were predators after all. "It's okay," Demoiselle soothed rubbing Terry's back, "I won't kill anyone ever again." Though no promises about not severly maiming them, thought Demoiselle knowing he wouldn't think twice about hurting someone to protect Terry...which meant Demoiselle would never promise Terry something like that.I'll never break one promise I make to him...I wouldn't have the heart to. "Now,"urged Demoiselle looking at Terry and remembering Terry's friend, "let's go somewhere else. You haven't eaten nor do you have your strength back. You need food and lots of rest. I sure Gabriel wants to get a good look at Adam too so lets get going."
(((It's okay. Trust me, I understand and I hope you're having fun!!!!)))

Terry clung tightly to Demoiselle, afraid that he would be separated from him again if he let go. He turned his head slightly as he felt Gabriel put his hand on his shoulder. "Terry, why don't you and Demoiselle go and rest. I'm going to see that your friend is taken to the hospital nearby." Terry pulled away and looked up at his uncle wide eyes filled with confusion. "But I want you to heal him! You're the best Uncle Gabriel!" Gabriel flinched at the compliment, not seeing for the moment Terry's eyes but Maris' emerald gaze staring at him. He smiled. "I suppose that's true but I don't want to risk hurting the boy even more having to carry him all the way back to my place. The hospital is closer. Don't they'll take good care of him." He patted Terry on the head and walked off to join Feu, at the same time pulling out his mobile communicator.
"We both know Gabriel makes good on his promise..." Terry, surprised looked over at his Papa. Terry smiled and nodded. Koran held out a hand to his son, "What do you say we go for a swim then have some dinner back home?" Emerald eyes brightened at the thought of going home, but flinched at the last moment. "Can Demoiselle come with us?" Terry looked up at this Papa with a pleading gaze. Koran sighed. There was no denying it, and no changing what was meant to happen. He just hoped and prayed his son wouldn't share the same fate as his own mate. "If he wants to...he is welcome."

Demoiselle was greatful that Koran had been so easily accepting of their relationship if you could call it that, but it only reminded him that he had his own father to worry about. "I thank you for the invitation, but I have things to seattle with my father so please go on ahead and I'll catch up when we're done," replied Demoiselle knowing that when his father and he fought it was better that no one else was around. Demoiselle went over to his father trusting that Terry and Koran would leave. "You fought well son,"praised Laydum looking at his son with cold pride. "I'm not going back with you," announced Demoiselle knowing it was better just to get it over with. "No. You'll be coming back home with me,"insisted Laydum looking at his son,"you don't belong here. You're a predator and it'd be foolish for you to live with prey." Demoiselle went to walk away not wanting to argue with his father, but Laydum grabbed his arm and Demoiselle gave a pained hiss as he felt his father's claws dig into his skin. "I think Terry is my mate," stated Demoiselle looking at his father, "I went away from this planet and for someone who could be my mate. You should be hapy for me." "That merman is not your mate,"argued Laydum not liking that he was losing his son to amerman. "Really," questioned Demoiselle his voice rising, "then why do I feel like I'd die a thousand times to see him smile or that I'd kill anyone if they made him cry.I love Terry Father. I found someone for me don't take him away from me like mother was taken away from me. Don't you want me to be happy?" Laydum looked at his son in shock. He knew his son had feelings for the merman, but nothing so deep and by the look in Demoiselle's eyes Laydum knew he wasn't lying. "I see this merman trully is something special to you," observed Laydum softly, "then I shall try and understand. Just come and visit. You are after all the only piece of your mother I have left and I do love you. Come. I think Teery has invited you to dinner with him." Demoiselle was relieved that his father was at least willing to try and they walked out of the alley in search of Teery and Koran. "Father...if you'd like I'm sure Terry and Koran wouldn't mind if you can to dinner too,"voiced Demoiselle hoping that he would have time to talk to his father and he would have time to find out just why Demoiselle loved Terry so much. "That sounds good," assured Laydum and content for at least now they began looking for Terry and Koran.

Terry took hold of his father's hand as they walked away and toward the forest region. Terry looked up to see his father's smiling down at him, and winked. 'How about a race before dinner?' Terry's face lit up, 'First one to the Lake?'.
Without another word or thought, they were off running. Neck and neck they ran, but careful not to trip. At one point, Koran disappeared behind Terry and surprised the boy by picking him up and running with him on his shoulders. Together they reached the Lake. They could see the floating city that was their home in the middle of the water. Just then Terry jumped from Koran shoulders and dived into the water. Koran yelled out before diving in as well, "Remember Terry, no snacking before Dinner. After a few hours they dried themselves and changed in their chambers. Koran wore a soft lighly striped blue robe, and Terry wore a cute light red robe with cherry blossom patterns on it. Both look almost like Japanese kimonos.
Just before Koran left to finish some business. Terry called out from his bed where he sat. "Papa! Are you still angry with me?"
Koran kneeled in front of his son. "And why would you think that?" "Because I left home without telling anyone, and got hurt too..." Koran smiled and kissed Terry's forehead, "And did you learn from that experience?" Terry nodded his head vigorously, "I'll never do it again! but...do you think we could go to other planets sometime, maybe for vacation?" Koran laughed, "I don't see why not. Now you wait here until the servants call you for dinner." After Koran left, Terry laid down on his familiar bed and took a long awaited nap.

Demoiselle and Laydum quickly followed Terry's scent and they came to a city. The only problem was that in was in the middle of the water. How are we going to get across that, wondered Demoiselle,We can transform, but then the mermen might think they're under attack and that would be far from good. "I lost Feu's scent back on the trail," announced Laydum looking at the city with just as much hesistation as his son was. "They probably went to Gabriel's house,"stated Demoiselle deciding that seeing Terry was worth causing a little trouble and quickly shifted so he could fly over the water. Demoiselle and Laydum landed safely on the land and continued to follow Terry's scent until they were at the door of a very nice looking house.I didn't know Terry lived so well.I've always been well off, but this is impressive.Demoiselle hesistated, wondering if it really was a good idea to be having dinner in Terry's house.I just want to see him. I want to know he's okay, that he's safe, and that he's not scared, thought Demoiselle anxiously and knocked on the door.

Terry slept, peacefully dreaming with his arms wrapped around his pillow and his face buried into the soft fabric. Meanwhile, Koran sat in his study going over the last few pieces of business before he received the news of Terry. Everything was quiet. All those who worked in the Capital Tower were preparing dinner for each Mermen Representative and their families. Only on special occasion did the representatives all dine together. All had separate chambers within the Tower.
Just then a gentle rap on the door broke Koran from his thoughts, "Come in." A young boy about 21, with dark brown hair and looked like he had a dark tan, stepped into the room. "Sir, Your dinner is now prepared for you and your guests." Koran smiled and stood, walking over to the boy. He placed a hand on his shoulder. "Thank you David. Now if you would kindly do me one more small favour." David nodded, thick brown locks bounced with every movement. "Please take one of the motorboats to the main shore and pick up two Dragonis." The boy's eyes widened, a little fearful. "Why Dragonis, if I may ask?" Koran just smiled and draped his arm around David's shoulders nudging him toward the exit, "Because they are Terrence's guests."
The boy nodded, and just before he left turned for one last question, "Who should I wait for?" "Demoiselle." Koran answered, before shutting the door behind them. They went separate directions. Koran went to check on Terry to find him still sleeping.
David trying to hide his hands trembling slightly on the steering wheel, was skimming the water in a long, elegant white motorboat toward the mainland of Merman Territory.

Demoiselle looked around lost and wondered where he was suppose to go. "I think we're a little lost Father," voiced Demoiselle feeling anxious to see Terry. "Mermen country is one thing I've never felt the urge to explore," admitted Laydum looking just as lost as his son. Demoiselle's head jerked up when he heard the sound of a motorboat and watched as the boat came closer. "Who is that," wondered Demoiselle out loud and looked at the merboy suspiciously. Koran wouldn't sell them out and have them captured would he? No, he loved Terry to much for that. Demoiselle looked expectantly at the merboy and waited for an explaination. Demoiselle's gaze softened though when he saw the merman shaking. "Don't worry," assured Demoiselle with a soft chuckle, "I won't eat you. I'm Demoiselle and this is my father, Laydum, would you happen to know where I could find a merboy named Terry?"

David pulled the boat into shallow waters, as close to land as he could without getting stuck in the reef. He stood on the deck of the boat, while the ramp lowered to let the two on. "I was told to pick up two Dragonis. Koran said they were guests of his son Terrence for dinner." He quickly turned and started up the engine again and sped off toward the floating city.
Meanwhile, Koran decide go down and greet his son's guests, leaving Terry to continue to sleep. He walked out to the port and waited until he caught sight of the white motor boat skimming across the surface.
