Chase arose the next morning and bathed before standing in front of the mirror. The left half of his face was discolored and slightly disformed giving a monstrous appearance to the rugged handsomeness on the right side. He'd thought all night of the possible usage of a mask to face his mate. After all, he couldn't very well claim him in the dark. Well... not without scaring the hell out of him.
And after last night, the way he had lain in him bed, awake and aching, his body and very sould calling out for a man that was so close yet so far away he knew he could not hold out. He'd waited 32 long years for someone to call his own. All other men before were nothing to him, he felt nothing and used them in reparation on the mating he would soon have. Or hoped to have, anyway.
He knew the idea of a calm mating was just a fantasy and knew that if the little fae truly knew about him, what he had done and did still in addition to the face he currently had, then he would nothing more to do with him and would resent him for staying. And he wouuld make him stay, he was too selfish to let Dalian go. They were on Zerca, damn it, and here Mate Law ruled.
A brief rustling behind him told him his very best friend and War Office partner of ten years had arrived. "I need a mask."
"You dragged me out of bed and away from," the blonde man paused and cleared his throat. "Nevermind. Just next time give me some forewarning so I can get up properly ere you ring for me. Now what is this about a mask?"
"The little fae you hired. He's mine," he couldn't help the slight growl to his voice. "He is my mate and will bear my sons."
"Congratulations, my friend! He's a fine piece, indeed he is. But why do you need a mask? Aren't mates supposed to accept everything about one another? Your face can be healed and even if it could not, it is a mark of your heroism. You saved the Shodan's mate from Prasidion fire and as such have been given a cake job ordering the people in your old job around. Your mate should be proud of you."
"I have done nothing I am proud of. Just get me a mask to cover this blasted burnt flesh. I need to claim him soon ere the beat rules over me and the cat breaks free."
Van shook his head. "You are so morose. I will bring a mask maker here in an hour. Now go have your breakfast with your little mate," he said before teleporting away from the house once more.
Chase sighed and commanded the house's AI to darkness before making his way downstairs to the breakfast dining room.

Morning arrived sooner than he would have liked and the Fae's eyes fluttered open. "I really love this bed." He spoke with a faint whimsical sigh as he fluttered into the sheets. The moment he plopped himself onto the bed he had been in heaven. It was like sleeping on a cloud and he was out like a light in seconds.
"What time is it now?" He faintly recalled that breakfast was suppose to be at eight. Breakfast he was suppose to make. He looked about the room spotting the clock set up there. Huh, it seemed it wouldn't be too long before breakfast was supposed to be served. That was nice, he was looking forward to it himself. His mind seemed a drift in what was a bit of a sleepy haze but seconds passed and it hit him.
"Oh no!" He practically leapt out of bed or rather he got caught up in the sheets and hit the floor with a thud yelping the moment he felt it. He was lucky he was on his stomach or that would have hurt his wings. "Geez." He scrambled all flustered. He didn't bother to stop at the bathroom he ran out of his room barefoot and tumbled over something he didn't see in the dark.
He forgot about the lights!
"Ugh!" Momentarily put off he quickly lit himself up and continued to the kitchen. A few minutes later he was rushing through something on the menu list for breakfast. Something with meat and pancakes amongst other breakfast goods. He barely made it, he had but a few minutes before eight and he was hurrying towards the dinning room trying to set everything up.
In his hurry to get things done he hadn't realized his bad habits started to kick in. It went from his slightly fluttering wings and his weather changing ability kicking in. Even though he wasn't outside he managed to stir up a faint wind to encircle his person. This caused his hair and his clothes to blow about him just a bit but so caught up in his actions he paid it no heed.
By the time his employer showed up he was still there. He had everything set on the table but he hadn't made his leave yet and he wasn't suppose to be there. "I'm sorry sir," he quickly apologized. "I woke up late." He slept in on accident. "It won't happen again."
He was such a nervous wreck right now he didn't realize he was quite a sight to look at. Between his hair being blown back a bit to his iridescent wings being fully exposed and mixed with his natural even though dull light gave him a rather angelic effect. His wings gave off a colorful rainbow effect when the light he emitted hit them.
To top it off his clothes were inappropriate. Rushing out he hadn't changed he was in some silky attire that made up his pajamas. He wore a short tank top that showed his midriff and some really short shorts. If angels wore revealing clothes and had dragonfly wings he could pull it off.
"I'll just leave you to eat." He started to back without thinking to leave the room. He'd head into the kitchen and get a hold of himself.

Chase sat there stunned. Stars above the man was gorgeous and so innocently sex... Hell, yess. He was getting that mask done today and he could begin the process of claiming his mate.
"Dalian," he called the beautiful fae back. "You will share dinner with me."

The moment he heard his name he froze. He expected to be fired, a thought that had yet to leave since he was a new here, but instead he was...asked to share dinner? Did he hear right?
"Wha-" He stopped to turn and face the man everything about his suddenly calm. He was just so stunned everything about him settled down. The wind he subconsciously stopped and his wings stopped fluttering, he was just standing there staring.
"Give me a moment and I'll get my portion." He wasn't sure what else to do it just seemed natural to accept. It was only when he reached the kitchen did the fact that he must look quite unkempt. He needed to go back and clean up but by the time that was all over his employer would be done eating. The way he was now... It just hit him how he was dressed. No way! He saw him like this, dressed like this, was it alright? It didn't matter he was invited and it was rude to turn it down. He'd just apologize later.
A few minutes later Dalian was back out in the dinning room with his breakfast. He seated himself on the far end of the table dimming his light just a tad. "Thank you for inviting me but...I'm sorry I was a little late." Just a little, but he was late and he wasn't suppose to be!
"Also sorry about um...well, I didn't get to change before coming downstairs." How embarrassing was it to come to work in his pajamas? It didn't matter that he lived here.
"I promise I'll do better." Being so forgetful...he just got way too comfortable in this mans home. In a year he would probably never see him again, he needed to treat this like a business place of sorts.
"Let me know if you want anything?" He may be eating breakfast but he was still on his employers time. He didn't consider this a break more like something new his boss wanted him to do. Why else would he ask?

Chase was midly surprised when the fae sat down for breakfast. He had asked him for dinner after all but certainly didn't mind the view. "You can dress however you like, Dalian, this is your home now too. But I believe, after tonight, that you should begin looking for your replacement. Your position in this household is about to be lifted, promoted if you will," he said, trying to ease the boy's fears before they began.

Dalian's thoughts were so jumbled it took a moment for him to consider . He was such a goofball, he couldn't get anything right this morning. The man probably meant later for actual dinner. He was just so caught up in things. Now he really would be booted out. He was expecting it when the man spoke again, hearing he was going to need to look for a replacement. He didn't even have time to feel disappointment when he heard him say something about a promotion?
"I certainly don't think I deserve one." He couldn't help being honest. "I've messed up a few times...I'm surprised you still let me stay here." He'd been here for less than a day and look at what happened. "I should probably get back in the kitchen now." He would eat his food there where he was suppose to and clean up when it was time. He didn't know about looking for a replacement still, his employer would probably change his mind and get rid of him when he came to his senses.
"You want me to leave now, right?" If not out the door then to the kitchen. He intended to change after he finished cleaning.

"I want you to heed what I say, Dalian," he said simply. "We will discuss the matter further over dinner. For now you may do whatever you wish."
Finishing his meal, he headed upstairs and was not surprised to see Van up there waiting with a cute little mask maker that had been sworn to silence. Saying nothing, he sat before the man and allowed the man to get to work.
"Would you like a half mask or a full mask, sir?" he asked Frazzy here is throwing compliments your way."
"He's used to seeing burnt flesh. Dalian is not. Now on with it. I am eager to be with my mate this night."

More at dinner? Dalian raised a brow but gave an od. The man was mysterious alright.
Quickly Dalian finished his own food then went about cleaning as he thought to. The moment that was done he went about the rest of his day accordingly. From cleaning up himself to cleaning around the house and cooking when it came to lunch.
He was fine after all that happened this morning, he really just needed time to put himself together. Seeing Mr. Huntington didn't say anything about dinner being cancelled he assumed that was still on. Dinner he'd be attending. Should he think it odd? Sounded kind of like a date but he'd be making the food. Probably better if he didn't give it too much thought, then he'd be a nervous wreck again.

"There, it looks very dramatic," Van said, looking over the man. "Very Phantom of the Opera-ish."
Chase scowled. "It'll have to do. It's nearly time."
"Knock 'em dead, pal."
Rolling his eyes at his friend, he headed downstairs to the dining room for dinner.

Before Dalian knew it it was dinner time and he realized he was scheduled for a dinner...date? Was that it? Either way after practically rolling around in dust, though this place was pretty clean, he took a shower. Of course he had dinner started and served on the table but he was dressed nicely all the while.
Why, if he was going to be sitting with his boss that could potentially get rid of him he had to look good. It made sense to him at least. This time he wasn't wearing anything really revealing. He wore a white ruffled waist coat shirt with a grey vest and some grey pants to match. It looked lice but it was nothing special.
As usual he did everything in the dark with only his light to shine the way, he was waiting in the dinning room now, standing by the table while he waited for his employer. He was nervous but he wasn't the same wreck he was earlier. Mr. Huntington said he should look for a replacement, of course he hadn't. He wasn't going to give his job up so easily! But maybe he shouldn't try to stay around where he wasn't wanted.
Oh, he'd just wait and see what happened. For now he just hoped Mr. Huntington would like the dinner he made.

The lights came on in the dining room and Chase appeared, very aware that this was the first time in months he'd been in the light and also that this was the first time his mate was actually seeing him.
Settling in his chair, he stared at the fae, waiting for his reaction.

In the blink of an eye the lights came on and Dalian found himself looking about puzzled. Before he could jump to conclusions his gaze locked onto the large handsome man that came into the room...wearing a mask? "Mr. Huntington?" Dalian's jaw dropped a bit at the sight, he recognized the intimidating size but he had never once got a look at the man. This was what he looked like not counting the mask he wore.
"Wow." He mouthed the word. He thought the man was mysterious before but this was... What could he have to tell him that would require a mask? He didn't think he got it for his sake.
"You look nice...Mr. Huntington." He wasn't forcing a compliment he meant it. The man looked handsome but just from what he could see. "Oh..." He realized he was still standing and he had yet to turn off his own light. Quickly he turned off his light and gathered his wits about him. His employer really stunned him with his appearance.
"Would you like me to get you anything, sir?" He knew he was invited to dinner but wasn't he technically still working now? He also called mention of a promotion but he didn't really know his boss. Heck, it could be his way of saying he didn't want him around though it was a weird way to do it some people did have a sick sense of humor.

"Sit down, Dalian, I have something important to tell you," Chase said, his voice soft but deep. Moving over to kneel beside the man's chair, he abruptly took his hand and flashed his teeth. "You are my mate. The other half to my whole and it is you who will bear my sons."

Sit down? Yes, Dalian was sire he heard right. Quickly he sat himself down and found his gaze suddenly locked with his employers with his hand in his. What he heard made him gape? He would have thought this some bad joke but the sudden jolt he felt upon touching him somehow told him that this was no lie.
"Mr. Huntington..." He didn't know what to say, he didn't even know the mans first name. It was amazing he had set out on his journey hoping to find his mate and shortly after setting out on his own he was hired by him. He didn't know what to think. "I-I don't know about this?" What did he expect from him? Suddenly the whole weight of having a mate and what it entailed hit him hard.
He would be with this one man stuck in this one house and he'd be taking care of all these kids. The image stuck in his mind filling him with both happiness and fright. He didn't like the idea of being tied down he never did but... It wasn't even like he had been with anyone he just considered he wouldn't have the same freedom he had before and he didn't like it.
"Will I at least have a chance to get to know you?" If he was going to live here longer then of course but he felt he had to say something. "Will I still be working for?" He needed some distraction from his suddenly mixed emotions.

"You will have... some time," the man allowed, though from the frown on his face he was neither looking forward to giving it to the fae not was he planning this time be an extended period. "And why would you continue to work when you are now the Consort of this house?Surely you can find things other than cleaning and cooking to fill your day. Instead hire someone to do such menial things for you."
Still kneeling in the floor, the brought the man's hand up to his lips to kiss the inside of his palm. "I know you have fears, Dalian, but I will not let you go. I am too selfish and you need me as much as I need you.You will have our children and raise them here, with me. And my name," he stated, reading the fae's mind. "Is Chase."
