Talen spun in Killian's arms so the man couldn't see him blush. Talen was silent before he spoke in an unsure voice. "Why are you being so persistent? Why not find a bearer that won't push you away?"

Talen nodded reluctantly. It was getting late and he was to tired to continue fighting. "It will take a while to get there."
(Time skip)
Talen pushed past the final trees that lead into the small clearing, revealing the place he called home. It had been a safe haven for him as he grew up but from the way Killian held himself, Talen assumed this was nothing compared to what the man was used to.

Once at Talen's house, Killian sighs and lets his mate go ahead. "Well... We're home, I guess."

Talen looked up as the first drops of rain fell. Soon it was pouring down. Talen quickly grabbed Killian's hand, trying to ignore how it seemed to fit, and pulled him across the clearing into the hidden cave entrance. Once inside he let go and shrugged the wet cloak of his shoulders.
"How far is it to where you are staying?"

Killian shakes his hair free of rain and then laughs heartily at what his mate says, "I've told you. My home is where you are. I stay with you."

Talen blushed once more and tried to stop the smile that wanted to spread across his face. Any other giver that had taken an interest in Talen never made him feel anything and now this man he'd only been with for a few hours was slowly breaking down his defences. Talen frowned, No he wouldn't let him get any closer. Talen moved further into his home.
"Don't you have a family that will worry about you?"

Killian frowns, "Yes... But they know I can take care of myself." He walks forward, following Talen. "Don't run from this... You won't like the results." His own heart already hurting from the reject, but he isn't being forceful yet. If Tal doesn't come around by morning... He'll think of that later...

Talen spun around and glared at Killian. "Are...Are you threatening me?" Talen tried to suppress the small rising panic he felt, if Killian wanted to he could easily overpower the small bearer and Talen knew this.

"No," Killian shakes his head as he approaches the bearer, his hands coming to rest on their shoulders. "As mates we need each other... If we're apart too much it will hurt." And then he pulls Talen into his arms.
"And I don't want you to have to feel completely empty... You're worth more than that."
