Of Ukes and Smoothies (Zehl/Kau-MATURE)

Kau smiled up at his lover, smiling once he began nuzzling him, "I l-ove y-ou t-oo," he managed, snuggling closer to the younger male. He looked down on his children before blushing, he didn't know which one was which, he did just meet them for the first time. He looked up pleadingly still blushing, he might be a mother, but he didn't have the tuition all mothers were supposed to have.

The two little kittens were so adorable together, resting on their mother's scarred tummy, kicking randomly in their sleep. He loved his children already, more than anything, and he didn't even know what his lover decided to name them.

Abel was a little shocked to be held by Daren's mother but only sighed with a smile. "I knew you were Hun, I just thought you wanted me to lay back," he said walking back into the kitchen, with the two close behind. He took the pan off the stove top and pulled out two plates setting them down side by side. He put some eggs on both plates, but some of Kau's berries in two little bowls and handed them to the other two while prepared something else back at the stove top. "If you want something else, besides some random animal meat say so," he said over his shoulder.

Zehl smiles at Kau's words. And then points to the babes, "The one who has stripes like your scars is Zero. And the other is Gravity." He laces his fingers into his mate's hair and continues rubbing his head.

"I'm so happy for you. For the kits..." He purrs again. "And I'm glad they are ours, just as we are each others'." Now his other hand threads into one of Kau's and he just smiles wider.

"As soon as you are realest, you and the babes, we'll go straight home."

Sheba and Daren take their plates, the older with a sheepish smile and the son with one of gratitude. They begin eating at their respective paces and Daren stays close to Abel.

When done the mother smiles and tilts his head, "Twenty hours."

Daren's head jerks in the direction of his smirking barer and he sets down his half eaten food. He knows he may seem ready for what is to come, but to have his mother just be counting it down brought it all into focus.

He shivers and Sheba's smirk disappears, but both barers look to the soon to be father. Daren reaches out to Abel in a hold me way...

Kau just smiled and continued to rest his head on his lover's hand and stared at his two beautiful children. Kau couldn't beleive something so painful had created these two perfect kits. He blushed and nodded, he couldn't wait to go home, to his papa, and show him his kits, and by that time his Papa would have a kit of his own to show him. He yawned a little a blushed when he heard his tummy grumble a little. Little Zero woke up roared in displeasure, he was hungry too. He pulled the kit close, along with his brother and tried to get him to calm down, but it wasn't working.

He looked up at Zehl pleadingly, hoping he could go get a nurse so he could feed his child, and himself. Gravity was dead asleep and seemed to be unbothered by all the noise his brother was make and simply hid his face in his mother's chest.

Abel dropped what he was doing and turned back to Daren, worry plastered on his face. He smiled and pulled the zercan close and planted a soft kiss on the top of his head. "Everything will be fine, I promise," he said slowly rocking him back and forth. "Don't worry, I'll be there with you," he said again, not going to let him go untill he told him to, and that didn't seem like it was going to ever happen.

Zehl pecks his mate on the top of his head and nods, "I'll find a nurse." And he goes off in search of one, taking a few minutes to do so. When he finally has one in his sights he goes to her.

"Ma'am? Can we get some food for my mate and our babes?" He smiles softly. "They're hungry."

She smiles back, "Of course. Which room?" And Zehl tells her before heading back...

Daren whimpers in Abel's arms. He's not ready to be a mama. Snuggling as close as he can to the brown haired man he cries, for Kau, for Zehl, for his bearer and his giver, and lastly he cries for Abel. His mate and true love. His tears become slow breathing and his bearer had come over to whisper his baby's ear, "Daren. You are ready, kit... That's why you're our only kit who was born to have children. So you can have this kit and raise them to be everything you can..."

Kau blushed a little before turning his attention to his kits, Gravity still being a good boy and sleeping like a rock, while his brother cried his little heart out, there were multiple differences between the two besides eye color and patterns their pelts. He sighed and smiled, petting Zero on the head he looked up once his lover returned, the kit deciding to wait patiently for its first meal.

The nurse came in and helped Kau feed the babes, before putting them into two cribs, leaving them next to Kau, and bringing in Kau's meal. Kau ate it happily, regaining his energy. Once he was finished the nurse came back and took his dishes away. Kau looked down at his now sleeping children lovingly, reaching over he took Zehl's hand and squeezed it.

Abel, rubbed his lover's back, wanting to make him stop crying, wanting to reassure him that everything would be fine and that he was ready, but he never was good with people, so he let his mother-in-law handle it. He rested his head next to Daren's ear, "You're mother's right, I beleive in you, and like I said, I'll be there to catch you," and that's all he could say, he just held him in silence.

Zehl picks up the screaming Zero and carries him to the kitchen, it doesn't take much to be able to make a bottle and put it in a baby's mouth. Which is the only reason he would be up at midnight. Gravity is still sleeping peacefully and hasn't really cried yet. But his younger twin, oh he's loud. But Sheba had loved the babes and Kau. He hadn't been able to stop hugging the younger male or cooing over the babies, at least until he pretty much dropped dead on his feet and slept on the couch.

Zehl puts the luke warm bottle in his babe's mouth, "Now hush up." He says just as in the other room Daren eyes shoot open. The Liger rolls towards his mate and shakes him, just barely able to handle the pain.

"Abel, Abel!" He shakes harder and holds back a cry of pain. "Get up and wake up mom! H-He's coming!"

Abel hadn't gone to sleep, he didn't ever need sleep, and many times he'd ask if Zehl wanted him to stay up and take care of the children, but he was always turned down. Abel jumped looking back at his mate, it was time, he took his hand in his for a second before running out of the bedroom and into the sitting room where Mama, as he grown to call the male, was sleeping. Kneeling at his side Abel shook the male till he was awake, "Mama, Mama! It's the kit, it's coming!" he yelled not waiting for a reply, he scooped him up in his arms and ran him back to the bedroom. He went to Daren's side and took his hand again. "We have to get him to the hospital, now..." he said looking back to mama.

Kau stirred in his sleep, and sat up, not knowing what's going on, he looked over to the crib where Gravity had been woken up. Barely getting out of bed he stumbled over and picked the kit up, getting him to calm down. He still wasn't able to walk on his own without falling over, but he was getting better. He wanted to go see what was going on but it could end up badly.

Sheba is quick to recover from his slumber and takes Daren's hand, "Remember deep breathing." And he quickly leads his son to the Jetkar. He directs Daren to the back and the son listens. Soon enough Sheba has the craft started and moving. Daren bites back more cries and holds in his sorrow, he didn't get a chance to say good bye...

Zehl mean while went to Kau, his blue eyes nervous as he carries the feeding babe, "Daren's in labor." And he goes to his other half and smiles down at the calmed kit then back at his mate. "We're going to have to take care of Papa..." He is his father-in-law after all...

Kau bit his lip hearing what's going on, sighing he smiled once more and nodded, he wanted to be there for his papa, especially since he was always there for him. Placing the two cubs into the crib he slowly wheeled it out into the sitting room, using it to keep his balance, along with Zehl of coarse. He plopped himself on a chair and looked up to his father. Abel was pale, for once, and he was shaking, which only Kau noticed because he had seen his father like this only once before. "Pa…Pa…" Kau said, his voice sounding more than a little scratchy.

Since Zehl had arrived, Kau had been talking non-stop, even if it was only a few words at a time, and it was finally starting to take tole on his weak little vocal cords, what few he had left. Abel snapped his head in the direction of Kau with a worried and scared look on his face. He looked down at the floor before rushing into the kitchen, almost running all the way there. Kau smiled knowing Papa would be fine as long as he was kept busy. He pulled the cradle close and looked at his two little kits, Gravity getting a frustrated look on his face, he wasn't the only one that was hungry.

Kau looked up at Zehl saying with his eyes, witch had little black dots around them where they were sewn shut, that he had Papa under control, for the moment at least, and he should get some sleep, he's been up with the children the day they were born. Abel returned with a hot cup of tea for Kau, and a bottle for Gravity, noticing he was hungry. He got on his knees handing the cup to kau, he pet the boy's head, and just stared at him in silence, the two of them having a soundless conversation.

Zehl watched the father and son picked by love, he smiles softly and looks to Abel's face. He studies his father-in-law for a long moment before coming to rest on Kau's other side. He picks up Gravity again and begins to have a secret feline conversation with him. If any of his family would of been there they'd of scolded him and told him to say what he's thinking in grown-up speach... But this was his baby.

Gravity purrs and says words back to his daddy. Ones that Zehl can easily understand as: "Grandpa up. Grandpa please up." The elder tiger smiles and gets up and goes around to the grandfather.

He holds Gravity out to Abel, "He wants you."

The pain is un-imaginable and Daren knows he sleep too long through it. He is growling and hissing through the worst of it now. He'll never try to have fucking kits again! Never!

Sheba smoothly drives into the emergency area and pulls his son inside, "We need to--"

"We know, right this way."

So Daren is beamed up and given to the nurses and one doctor on duty there. He is placed in a birthing box, cursing Abel's name the whole way...

Abel turned from Kau and looked to the purring cub, Gravity. He didn't seem to look like he want to touch the cub, almost like he was scared. Kau just placed his small hand on his shoulder letting him know it would be alright. Abel looked to Kau one last time before gently taking the cub into his arms. He didn't smile, but he didn't frown, looking at the newborn exactly like he did Kau, hoping the thing could understand what was coming from that gaze.

Kau removed his hand and took a sip of his tea, "I-I f-for-gi-ve y-ou," he said, his voice interrupting the silence. "I-t w-on-t hap-pe-n a-ga-in," he finished, not explaining himself he took another sip of tea before taking Zero into his arms and began to sooth him. The poor thing had gotten scared after being separated from his brother.

*four hours later*

Daren is wide awake and worried. He hasn't seen his kit as of yet, he had heard its weak call before it was taken from him. Even Sheba is worried for the newborn, he had followed the white kit. And now as Daren lays in the hospital bed he wishes Daren was here with him.

Soon enough Sheba comes in with a small smile though, "You're kit is fine... Do you wish to call your mate?"

Daren looks at his mother confused before his AI is placed in his hand and he sees it's already transmitting...

Zehl had helped Abel and Kau go about the early wake and had taken the kits down to the floor so they can play when the dining of a message began. He looks around for the sorce of the noise...

Kau cooed happily from his position on the floor, resting his head on his father's lap, who was now sitting in a chair. Abel had finally seemed to calm down. He was still scared but he was better. He was startled, the soft ringing from his bedroom tearing through the nice calm sounds in the living room. Soon the ringing turned into some annoying screaming. "OI! FATASS! SOME ONE WANTS TO TALK TO YOU! HELLO! FATASS! GET IN HERE NOW!!!!" a male voice screamed.

Abel just sighed, not really in the mood. He gently shook Kau who groaned a little, "Please move Kau, I need to get up," the small boy just groaned a little before falling limply to the floor and rested his head on Zehl's shoulder, looking at his kits play with one barely awake eye. Little Zero just kept nipping at his brother's ear, apparently he liked to play rough.

Abel walked in tired for once and pissed, "What is it Vlad, It's not the time to be messing around," he said to the face on the screen.

"It's you mate Fatass, You should be happy I was making a big deal out of it," said the black haired boy with snake bite pericings, before Abel could say anything he was gone and was replaced with his beloved Daren. Abel's face lit up and he smiled, tears streaming down his face.

He swallowed, "Hey Poppit, how you doin'? You okay?" he asked trying to be comforting.

Zehl wraps an arm around Kau and purrs. With Gravity is trying to bite his brother back, softly.

Daren smiles, "Abel! Oh I miss you!" He bites his lip. "We should be heading home as soon as the kit, Nebula, gets back..."

[squabbel]

Kau smiled closing his eyes again, cooing happily. Zero yelped when Gravity bit him on the tail. He was contradictive, it was OK for him to bite Gravity but not for Gravity to bite him. He backed away and curled into a ball sniffling.

Abile looked up, tilting his head to the side, "You mean he's not there with you? Is there something wrong with him?" he asked. Zehl had been able to stay with the kits right after they came out of the womb wouldn't be the same here, he suddenly felt responsible because he hadn't fulfilled his duty as a vampire father. He was scared and worried once again.
