Of Ukes and Smoothies (Zehl/Kau-MATURE)

He looked to Daren, with a fake smile on his face, "Ha! Ha! Something wrong no! Nothing at all! Just go back to the dining room and eat your breakfast, I'll be back soon!" he said waving his free hand to try to shoo him away. After a long pause his face darkens and he hands the baby to his mother, placing a soft kiss on the babe's forehead, before his mate's. "Hunters probably saw the ship land and are coming to check it out," he said looking out the window nervously. He looked turned back to Daren, a worried look in his eyes. "I don't wan to be separated from you, so I must take all precautions possible, please go back to the dinning room with Triem and Henry, as much as I want you hear, you'd be safer there," he pleaded, holding the two close. "I'm so scared."

Kau looked up at his lover Zehl, tears in his eyes. He rubbed the clothe between his fingers as if pondering to show Zehl what it was or to shove it back into the drawer from whence it came. He laid it down and raised his arm pathetically wanting a hug.

Zero whined in his grandmother's arms when he was handed to him. He whined at his brother, who was asking a million questions a minute. He grabbed his brother's head and shoved it into his stomach, whining and begging him to just shut up, and told him he was just as worried as he was, and he was just making the situation worse, though his words were just as slurred as his brother's.

Triem licks Henry's cheek, "And I you." And then nuzzles him. "Now eat up silly."

Zehl reaches out and hold Kau, "Anui? What's wrong?" He grasp tight and he nuzzles his mate. "If you can't say it, show me."

Daren frowns, goes into the dinning room, hands Triem his kit, tells him to watch Nebula or die, and then returns to Abel's side. He growls, "I am your mate. Anything that threatens you or anyone in this household has to go through me first. Don't you dare do this with out me! I'm not weak. I can fight."

Sheba sighs and frowns, "Oh dear." And Triem give Nebby a poke in his side.

"You're a small one y'know that?" At which the kitten just hisses and turns tail onto his uncle. "And a brat just like your mommy."

Gravity pouts and then hold his brother crying. Their grandmother begins rocking them slowly, trying to soothe them, "Everything will be alright kittens."

Henry giggles at triem and is almost done eating the whole bowl of pudding.

Kau looked up at Zehl, shaking in his arms, and rested his head on his chest. He reached down and grabbed what looked to be a mass of wrapped up red leather strips and slipped it on his hand. All of a sudden three claws retracted out from the mass. The metal shone brightly the claws looking like it could tear through steel. He continued to shake as he studied the weapon. "H-h-hun-ters."

Abel looked back at Daren, knowing there was no point in arguing with him, his tongue circling around one of his canines. "Fine then, but you will never, ever be on the front lines, only intervene if it looks like I won't make out of it, alright?" he asked sternly he looked away his lip quivering slightly. "I'm sorry that I don't trust you as much as I should, ever since that day I've been so protective of everyone and everything in this house that I won't let anyone help me when I need it most," he said leaning against and old wood table, hanging his head.

Zero held his brother and licked him apologetically, and nuzzling his neck, trying to comfort him as much as possible.

Sheba's ears hear everything and he sighs, What mess has my family been dragged into now? And Triem smiles to Henry, "Love you sweet heart."

Gravity just hugs his brother and holds him close. His young heart pounding fastly in worry.

Zehl frowns, "Hunters... As in of..."

Daren doesn't respond, he knows he can't promise anything. Its just not in his genes to sit back and let something happen to anyone in his family. He just watches Abel with the same look his mother used to always give his father whenever Zar looked down due to the fact Sheba is ten years younger. Its a distant, but understanding look.

Finally he says, "Affirmative."

Henry snuggles against Triems arm and smiles contently, "I love you too my love."

Kau looked back up to Zehl tears in his eyes and his lip quivering. "Papa," he said, before resting his head on his lover's shoulders and closing his eyes, still shaking. His father meant just as everyone else, he had to help.

Abel looked back to Daren and smiled lightly before walking forward, wrapping his arms around his neck, and holding him close. "Thank you, I love you too much to lose you over problems I should have resolved years ago. I so sorry," he apologized having no intention of letting him go, almost like if he did he'd be blown away but a soft breeze.

Zero continued to hold his brother close trying to calm down his older brother, even though he knew it wouldn't work, he couldn't just leave him like that.

"Abel," Zehl whispers and he frowns. Hunters for his father- in- law. Somehow Zehl is beginning to understand why Daren and Mortemer were almost always left with the kids or sent out to get them. But he nuzzles Kau none the less. "Nothing will happen and you know something did, nothing can stop this family, I swear. Everything will be alright."

Nebula crawls from Triem's arms over onto Henry, mewling and then lapping the human's face clean. The uncle glares, and then sighs, "Whatever."

Sheba shifts the babes in his arms and whispers, "Sorry." Gravity shrugs it off and just hugs his brother closer.

Daren sighs, but doesn't hold Abel back, "We've in a need to be on our toes."

Henrys face lights up and he squeals with joy, "Awwww!! Your so cute!!" he cries, wrapping his arms around nebula in a hug. The babies must sence nebula, for they begin to kick.

"And who said I'm not on my toes?" he said still holding his lover close, saddened by how he wasn't holding him back in his time of need. Even though it seemed he was too distracted with Daren, but really he was far from it, he kept an eye and ear out for the hunters, who were closing in fast. He stood up straight and looked into Daren's eyes, with a almost emotionless face, but his eyes were scared, as if he had just been watching his own death, red droplets balancing on his bottom lid, about to fall and paint his cheeks the same sickening hue.

Out of nowhere the windows broke and in spung men in nothing but black, even their shining weapons, were made of black steel. The men shot there cross bows in mid air, but before they could hit their target a large Dark wood table was placed in their way, an arrow just missing Daren's and Abel's heads. Abel held onto the table with one hand keeping Daren close with the other.

Zero licks his brother's face repeatedly, trying to be rid of the remaining tears in his fur.

Kau smiled up at his lover and rested his head on his chest, startled by the whole feeling of the house changing, from a safe loving home of a family, to a place of danger, fear, pain, and sadness, a place where horrible things had been done, and will be done again, the home deciding to show it's true colors, Abel had been confronted.

Sheba is the first to react though Daren is in the middle of the fight. His own blood pumping and his form shaking, that's his kit out there! He hands Triem his grandkittens and snarls out in the feline, Zercan language. Son only responding with, "Be safe." And the head mother is out defending right along side his baby and his baby's mate. Knowing he's much more willing to give up his life than either of the two he's along side.

Triem moves into action, "We've got to keep you and the babies safe." The lion speaks quickly, not nervous at all. Military drills will do that to you. Holding the twins in one hand and helping Henry up with the other, his head swings to hear the sound of teeth and claws ripping.

Daren had shouted at his mother, whom fearless jumped into the fray. Moving in the way only an acrobat knew how to. Twisting in the air and flexing in ways Daren would rather not ponder, before striking. The younger Liger is being forced behind his mate knows he's gotta do something, fast.

Zehl's eyes widen. And his heart kicks up, "Our family... The kittens!" His body tensing up, torn between his babies, all the children even, and his mate once again...

Henry gets up quickly, nebula still cradled in his arms. He looks over at the table and see a few cutting knives laying there. He picks them up and shoves them in his front hoodie pocket, knowing very well that he could easily impale some one a mile away with them. He looks to Triem an asks, "What do you want me to do?"

Kau looked up, and kissed his lover on the lips, willing him to go and help his brother with the babes while he finished dressing.

Abel hissed angrily as Sheba decided to intervene. With nothing more than a puff of air Abel shoved the heavy wood table forward, trapping anyone in it's path on the way to the wall. Two men were pinned to the wall as Abel stomped his foot on the bottom of the table, a sickening crunch coming from the other side. The two men screamed as Abel applied pressure. Soon the men were spurting out blood, from nearly every orifice unable to scream anymore. The men fell limply to the ground the others to distracted with the Zercan mother. Abel's face showed no expression, grabbing a hunter on the neck from behind, yelping but unable to finish his scream before his neck was napped.

Zehl nods and goes to his twin quickly, Triem is about to take a breath to begin barking orders when Zehl slams into him. Each of the elder twins catching one of the younger set when the Lion stumbles harshly. Gravity only holds a paw out to his brother, silently asking if he's alright.

Sheba tears through clothes and flesh as Daren's eyes just widen. He's never seen either of the two like this before, distant and killers. He knew what he was getting himself into, but he knows he's not going to like the result. Then one of the Hunters is coming at Abel while the Vampyre is distracted.

He snaps. Then launches himself at the attacker, claws and teeth ripping much like his mother's. The two tumbling and Daren is trying his best to out weight the other and end up on top. Being below the other would be deadlier than above.

Nebula curls into Henry and mewls softly to his cousins, asking if their alright. And finally Triem kicks into gear, "This way." He says leading them away from the fray. "Henry keep close to Zehl. Both of you on your toes."

"got it!" Henry replies, holding nebula in his arm tightly as they ran. Henry sees in the corner of his eye that a hunter is following them. He pulls his free arm to his pocket and grabs one of the knives and hitting the hunter square in the middle of his forehead.
