"Can't you make something of yourself like your brother did." Alphonse's bearer practically shouted at him for the umpteenth time. Once again he had to listen to his bearer talk about what little he had done with himself -- over the phone this time, all because he didn't do enough, played around instead of getting serious. If only he knew, but he would never tell, that was the whole point. If he had stated plans, done some things to show he was going somewhere, this could all be avoided, he deliberately chose not to.
"And I recall exactly what you said last time, mother." He gave a polite smile as he spoke, wanting to hang up. "So, I really have to go, bye, talk to you later, Kay." He didn't really wait for a response, he hung up the phone right then and there, letting out a faint sigh afterwards. "I'm getting awfully tired of this," his voice came out a bit mumbled, while he found himself sighing in his apartment. He hadn't been lying when he said he had to go, he had a few errands to run and he really did have to go.
There was that, and the fact he had work, but he wasn't sure if he was working today. This meant he had another stop to add on the list, but didn't think to let it bother him now. The sooner he was out the better, and he just did one look over of the items in his possession before he exited his home. It was more then a relief to be done with that, hurrying off to go otherwise, especially when he was able to walk outside into the fresh air.
"Now, to get those errands done so I can get some free time." He was secretly all about business right now, but it just seemed like he wanted to have fun and have fun he would in his own way. The moment he left his apartment, he left with a messenger slung over his shoulder and hurried off in a jog. Downstairs where all the people gathered and went about their daily lives, he would be no different there.
The first step was moving away from his apartment, which was easy enough to do, especially when he moved at a jogging pace. Maybe he could visit his workplace for, a little cafe that was doing pretty well for itself, once he checked there he would have his mind clear on when he had to be there. Schedule changes were such a bother, why couldn't people just keep things the way they were?

Graise Erickerson leaned his large frame back into the slightly too small chair and sighed, it felt good to just relax and have a great cup of coffee without any interruptions. He had been too busy these last few weeks between family gatherings that he just couldn’t bring himself to avoid in addition to his already hectic career in AI engineering (AIE), he had had very little time just to sit still and do absolutely nothing. Which felt rather good in comparison do how busy he stayed all the time.
Downing the remainder of the best coffee thus far found in Scrijjx City – and he liked to think his opinion was valid. After all, he’d lived in the city for the better part of his twenty-five years – he was loath to get up to get a refill. But unfortunately, tableside service was apparently not part of this café’s gig. Sighing to himself and hoping no random person stole his table by the time he finished waiting in line, he got up and walked over to begin his waiting.

Alphonse wasn't sure how long it took to get to his work place, but when he got there he saw the usual. The place was fairly crowded, but not too much. The place was popular to an extent, with certain crowds. Surprisingly, there were slow days, so this was a pleasant surprise. Just something he noted after entering, but he moved straight to the back.
While doing so he caught a glimpse at the line of customers though, he recognized some regulars, but there were a few he hadn't seen before. To those he did know he cast a smile and a wave to. "Morning Serile." He spoke to the young man at the cash register who briefly paused to smile and say hello before dealing with a customer. He happened to be a friend, but more like just at work, but good enough to cover for him if he needed him to.
"Hey boss man," Al only spoke again when he disappeared into the back, a door past the front counter. "I'm a bit clueless on the schedule, am I working today?" He was speaking to an older Zercan who ran the cafe, decent looking, actually quite handsome, but if he wasn't mistaken he was taken. Not that Al was looking to settle down, he wasn't going for that at all.
"Actually, I need an extra hand for a bit." Al's boss spoke to him, looking up from some notepad he was writing on, while a few other worked were busy in the background. "Just grab an apron and get to work."
Well, that answered Al's question, seemed he would be here longer then he thought. "Alright, I'll be out in five." He was actually hoping he could go in and come out, but he wasn't one to complain. Within the next five minutes he had placed his bag off to the side and dressed himself in an apron. Why the apron? Well one would be surprised at the things that could spill. He just took a moment to wash his hands as well, then he was off to the front.
"Working right?" It was Serile who noticed Al coming from the back. "Another cashier would help wonders." He motioned to the empty one beside him.
"Sure." It came out a bit muttered when Al spoke, but he really had no problem. "I'll take the next customer." He only spoke when he came up to the empty cash register, motioning for anyone to come into the line he started.

Graise had been eyeing his table since he returned to the line, daring anyone whom went for it to sit. That’s right, he was table greedy and he could live with that. Hearing a voice call for the next customer, Graise quickly made way over to the newest cashier. Placing his cup on the counter, his eyes caught…
Stars, the kid was sexy. So lithe with such smooth skin, he made Graise’s heart clench even as he felt a stirring in his lower regions. He knew for sure he had never met this kid, but he just seemed to familiar. It was almost like he should know the fellow.
“Do I know you?” he asked, knowing it came out like a corny pick-up line but didn’t care in the least. This kid was mesmerizing and Graise just had to know where this familiar tug was coming from.

Alphonse was in for quite the surprise, his next customer was a really hottie. Maybe today was his lucky day? That's what he would have liked to think, but when his schedule was thrown off he wasn't exactly in a good mood, not so much to be curt with the customers though. Fortunately for this guy, he wasn't going to act ride.
Wow, what was with that classic line? It was...well, he would normally laugh at someone who said that, quite audibly and out in the open, instead he actually found he had a deja vu sort of feeling himself. Okay, that was creepy. "I can assure you, you don't," his voice came out in a normal tone, his expression actually holding a faint classic 'made for the customer' smile.
"Now, you wanted something, right?" He motioned towards the cup, it wasn't like he read minds. "I'll get it for you, if you tell me." There really wasn't any way to go about this.

Graise frunted at the man's assurance. He knew he shouldn't continue when the kid actually assured him, but there was just something about him. Some thing that made him feel primal and vicious. Sexual all over. "When you you go one break?" he asked instead of giving up the name of the coffee.

Al couldn't help but raise a brow, that wasn't a caffeinated drink, ti was a question. "I'm sorry, but we don't serve that." It wasn't very nice of him to say, but if someone was going to try and pick him up, he should be allowed to say he was up for it and not. "Perhaps, if you ask for something else we'll have that," he did realize he was playing stupid, and he had no problem with it. Maybe his co-workers would jump on a guy like this, but he wasn't them.

Graise grunted but couldn't hide the small grin that found his face at the Bearer's smart mouth. It always had been something that turned him on madly. "Scri Mok, light cream," he answered, giving in. "Now when will I have the pleasure of accompanying you on this break?"

The guy was persistent, Al had to give him that one. He briefly debated on actually telling the man as he took his cup and refilled it. Within a few seconds the cup was filled and he was bringing it back to the counter. "Here you go sir," He cast another polite smiling, seeming to ignore that last question for awhile. The refills at this place were actually free, a bit of a gimmick to get customers; something that might change with the many coffee lovers in the city.
"About that last question..." he clearly trailed off purposely -- seeming to look elsewhere, but not because he was shy more so due to his feigning lack of interest. "Talk to me again in about an hour." His way of saying that's when his break was. "I can't guarantee I'll be working though." If that wasn't obvious, then he didn't think he should waste his time with him.

Graise flashed a sexy smiled and nodded his head. "In that case, I suppose I'll have some lunch while I'm waiting. Fix me up something, would you beautiful?"

Al actually felt is heart flutter at that sexy smile. How strange was that, it seemed he really found this guy attractive. Compliments didn't usually get to him like that, nor did the smile of a typically hot guy. "Coming right up," That's all he said before turning to fix some lunch up for...whoever the guy he was serving was called. He eventually went with a small sub, and they did have those at the cafe, whether that seemed odd or not his boss was an eccentric one. "Here we go," he spoke as he set the sub down on the counter. The sub was wrapped, as if the other guy would go but he had no idea what he would do so it certainly never hurt. "That will be five dollars and fifty cents." If he wanted something different he was free to tell him.

Graise handed the kid his credits and took his sandwich. "I'll be here, gorgeous, when you're finished," giving the male a quick wink he went and reclaimed his table, waiting ever so patiently to get some time alone with the boy.

Surprisingly an hour went by just like that, and Al found his gaze wandering towards the table the hot older male seated himself at. Should he really bother with him? The question came to mind when he announced his break to his co-worker.
"Going over to see that guy from earlier." Serile had a brief break from customers, meaning no one was in line right now.
"He's still here, I'm sure you'll see for yourself." That said, Al removed his Apron and took a quick trip to the back. There was a place he put his things, so he rested it with his messenger back. Since he wasn't leaving he left it there. It was time for his lunch break, and lucky for him he got it free at work. Now what was he going to get. He briefly debated on it before he exited the kitchen, stopping on the other side of the counter. "Hey Serile, get me a number 4." It was marked on the menu, a pastrami on Rye sandwich.
"Sure, and I suppose you want the usual drink." Serile didn't wait for a response, within a few minutes he brought back the sandwich and a cup that was filled with juice, he noted Al didn't seem like a coffee person -- even if he did work at a cafe that mostly served coffee.
"You know me too well, thanks Ser." Smiling at his co-worked, Al shooed himself off to the table the man he met earlier sat at.
"I assume you're still waiting for me," He invited himself to a spare seat at the table the man sat at. "It is my lunch break now, you know." As if to explain the food he had, he wasn't about to miss it for some handsome guy he met on an unexpected day of work.

"'Course I am, gorgeous," Graise gave a cheeky grin, a dimple appearing in his cheek. "Eat your fill and then we'll talk. How long do you have for me?"

Al couldn't help but notice a rather cute dimple the handsome man had. "I get about an hour of lunch, maybe a little less then that." He hoped he could get a good sixty minutes though, he just had to hurry and eat, but not like a pig for sure. How embarrassed would he be if he just stuffed food in his mouth like that. Without saying anything else, Al started on his sandwich, sipping the juice he got, and he did add a straw.
