There was nothing. Nothing but silence to be heard, as the Zercan known as Darius sat back in the captains chair on deck. Not that there were lots of other chairs, there were just a few. At the moment though, he was the only one on board, so it wouldn't have made a difference. However, it wasn't like he was on vacation. He was traveling about for a reason, one that didn't require a partner. All he needed at the moment was his ship. It was a way to travel about from planet to planet, and could also hold up a good conversation. There had been silence so far but moments before Talim, the A.I. of his ship, was holding the most interesting and yet random conversations, as it was stated they were coming up to their destination.
Now mind you Darius wasn't much of a talker. Due to that fact, he had to wonder sometimes, if Talim spoke as much as he did due to his lack of talking. Maybe that was it. Or maybe in general, it had a persona that like to go on, and on, and on. He never thought about it, he didn't really care, it filled the silence. Something he had no problem with, but didn't really care about either, to him the talking was just perfect. Occasionally, he had to talk, only in a few short responses. That was something he also didn't mind, he did after all find he quite enjoyed the ship he had.
At the moment Darius had his dark amber orbs, rimmed with black, staring listlessly ahead at nothing in particular. With his mind on nothing in particular. Just the brief thought that they would soon be arriving on the planet they were closest to now. The planet they were approaching was called Earth, it was a planet that his kind were allowed to go to, in order to search for the life mates, and that was exactly why he had come. To see if he could find that one special person for him, but the planet was so big. He had his doubts about finding the one he was searching for, but he had to stay positive.
It wasn't like Darius had anything to lose, just something he considered as his ship prepared to land. How long would it take, he wasn't sure, he just knew he was anxious. How much time had passed? Darius asked himself this as he heard Talim had come to start the landing process, entering the planets atmosphere, he was never sure on the details. He just knew his ships A.I. was perfectly capable of handling all the technical stuff on his own.
That's probably why the only thing referring to their landing that he heard, was when Talim was taking about it. All he heard was something like a “We'll be landing soon, isn’t it exciting!” It was all spoken in an excited tone the Zercan was use to hearing. Talim always seemed to be quite positive if not plain cheerful the majority of the time. The majority of the time meaning, he had seen when Talim hadn’t been so cheerful. It just happened that he got along quite well with him, so it wasn’t very often that happened. Then when it did happen, it wasn’t always directed at him.
Well, not directly something he was at fault for, but that wasn't something to think on now either, all that mattered was that, he was on peaceful terms with the A.I. Fortunately, his thoughts wandered back to where he was going, Earth, something he needed to focus on. He could recall the conversation he had with Talim, the day he decided to go there.
The Zercan had just decided to go to Earth, and told Talim that exact information shortly after. The A.I certainly hadn’t expected to be heading to the Back water planet.
“Are you sure, you want to go there?” Talim had spoken to him, with a clear note of surprise in the voice of the A.I.
“That’s right, I’ve decided to go there next.” That was all he planned to say, but then he heard the A.I. go on.
“But there are so many other pleasant planets to go on, you don’t know a thing about Earth.” It seemed Talim had something on his mind to have spoken that. Perhaps something stored in his memory.
“I don’t know much about the other planets either.“ That is besides his home planet.. “Besides, I feel I have to go there so no more talk on it, plan a course there as soon as possible.“ There was a moment of silence after that, as Darius looked at a screen that had sudden come to settle a little ways in his line of sight. There the face of slightly pale, blue-eyed, raven black haired male, with hair that came strait down, and framed his face. It was just a screen that displayed the face of a young man, there was nothing more there to see.
The male on the screen seemed to hold a scrutinizing look on his features, as he stared at the Zercan seated on the deck. It was perhaps a few minutes or maybe even a few seconds, that passed before the young male spoke. “Alright, I’ll plan a course now. I’m assuming we are leaving now.” There was a brief moment of silence again before the Zercan spoke.
“Of course Talim, I’m not thinking to waste anymore time here.” Darius spoke. in what sounded like a monotone voice, before the A.I. went on to speak again, saying something about being in a hurry before the face was gone from the screen. That's when the ship set into motion, not that the Zercan recalled having sensed any movement, his ship ran so smoothly there just wasn’t any notice of it. From there he just relaxed, deciding to go into his room for a bit, speaking that curtly before he went to rest.
"Here we are!" Talim announced loudly, the moment the ship landed, invisible to all the outside inhabitants, in some forested area clearing.
"Really," It seemed Darius had zoned out for a bit, "Well, I'm going off then," He said that, getting up from his seat. To save time, he had brought his things with him, a pack with a bit of this and that, so he wouldn't have to come back to the ship.
"You be careful out there," The A.I. spoke, its face coming up on the screen again, this time the image was of everything up to its waist, like he was talking to someone far away. "Let me know whats going on," The communicator Darius had, in the form of a watch, would help him do that.
"Of course," Moving to place the pack over his shoulders, he walked out into the hall, heading straight to the exit. The doors were open, so all Darius had to do was walk out of the ship, he did so taking a moment to pause once he was out. All he saw around him were the woods, but he had heard a town, or city was nearby, so he would try for that place. It shouldn't be too far, already he started to move forward, looking to find the city.
