Ferren went back to playing, relieved his brother was simply going to watch and not speak. He was just hoping he would keep everything here in mind. He didn't care to forget anything he just learned.
Calim kept his gaze intently set upon the two in the room that was Rykan's. He didn't exactly push aside his assumptions. But he didn't think to keep mentioning them. Until there was proof, he wouldn't come to insist on anything. He was now just curious, as to how this music playing thing was going. He wondered if his father, Shou, had come home yet.
Downstairs, Calim's question would have been answered if he caught sight of the person who Frey just let in. Shou, had arrived unaware of the guest they had. Frey wasn't jumping to tell what had occurred, but better sooner then later.

Rykan nodded, listening to the notes. The boy was getting better, his notes were stil, a tad airy. On Ferren's third scale, Rykan reached forwards, angling the flute upwards towards his mouth, and raising the boy's delicate arms to hold it upright and nearly level.
"Continue." he said, and as Ferren did, his notes became clearer.
"Remember to tongue your notes," Rykan reminded, even as he heard the front door open downstairs.

Ferren noted the correction made to the way he was playing. He had paused but continued when he heard to. Even if he was just playing the flute, he was still enjoying himself. Not just having the new company either, he also enjoyed the fact he could learn something new.
Frey had to figure out a way to explain it without his mate, jumping to any conclusions. He would surly understand the situation. He just had to talk to him. Something he did as he entered the kitchen. Also coming to check on the food. Just a few more minutes, and he would call everyone down to eat. Although, he had to consider something. If Rykan would like the food. Surely, he was one of those that are meat. Their meal didn't contain any. He'd just ask about that later.
"Shou." Frey spoke to his mate. Having to look up at him, he was taller then he was, and Frey himself was as tall as Ferren was. "I just wanted to let you know, we have a guest." He received a questioning look from his mate. It seemed he had to explain things in detail.
"And, now you see, I can't not let him stay." He wasn't sure how long he spoke with his mate, but he saw he seemed understanding. If not just a bit upset. No doubt, at the same thing he had been. Ferren putting himself in danger.
"Well, I would like to know the details, but I will not push the subject." Shou spoke, seeming to understand.
Frey was just relieved that Shou wouldn't go questioning their son now. "Now Dear, I'm nearly done cooking, why don't you go get yourself ready to eat." That was said, with a brief kiss given upon the cheek. He didn't give his mate a chance to speak, he shooed him off to go do whatever he had to.
It wasn't long before he was coming to take out all the food that was done. His mate hadn't taken too long to come back. He was helping him seat the table. Talking about his day, avoiding anything referring to his concern on the guest. Even if he had good reason to.
"Calim, it's time to eat!" Frey called out from the kitchen. Only doing so once the food was all set up on the table. Nothing belonging to meat. There were vegetables, several kinds of greens. There was fruit, and wheat based products. Frey intended to talk to Rykan, when he saw him. Hopefully he would sit and eat with them. He could tell Shou was looking forward to meeting Rykan as well, so now seemed a good time to.
Calim didn't find what he was seeing all that interesting. He still stuck around, thinking that the notes sounded nice. He was pretty much just minding that until he heard his mothers voice. He knew what that meant. He had to tell the others it was time to go downstairs.
"Hey you two, my mother is done cooking, I know he would love it if you'd join Rykan, so I do expect to see you down." He was merely giving a very large hint as to what he hoped he would do. With that said he moved to go off downstairs himself.
Ferren heard clearly what Calim had said. This meant he would be going downstairs now. Anything he had been playing, he had paused on. He saw Calim leave, and thought he should follow along as well. "I would hope you joined us." He referred to eating, hoping it was obvious. "Of course, no one is going to make you." Really, he didn't see anyone doing so.
"But I should mention, being Jshiko we, at least my family, doesn't eat meat." It suddenly occurred to Ferren to say such. As he recalled the image of that large white tiger, that had been Rykan. He was sure he ate meat. He wondered if he could do without. "We can go out later and get you something to eat, if you'd like." He wanted the other to have options, he didn't want it to seem like he didn't care about him eating what he may have liked.

Rykan laughed, going to his bag and pulling out the various roots and vegetables from Zerca. "I'm just fine without it, as you can see. Besides, I don't eat meat on a foreign planet, especially a planet with shifters. It just doesn't seem right. Also, dinner sounds lovely, although I won't eat much. This root I consumed earlier acts as a filler, allowing me to last longer without feeling hunger." he explained. He stood, unknowingly towering over the other boy.
He made a makeshift sling for his arm, and followed Ferren downstairs. He could feel another presence in the room and bowed to the obviously older male.
"Thank you for allowing me to stay in your home," he smiled. Turning his head towards Frey's scent he offered a small smile,"Would it be alright if I joined you?" he asked politely.

Ferren was relieved to hear that Ryakn seemed to be alright with the lack of meat. It was actually quite nice to hear what he had to say. He couldn't imagine eating any meat himself. More so, because of what he was. And how he knew his kind were so easily mistaken for the animals they shifted into. He only managed a slight nod towards what he heard Rykan say, towards the food he brought out of his back. So, he couldn't expect him to eat much. Well, that was fine.
Heading downstairs, Ferren just noted his father had come home. He found himself, once again, becoming rather nervous. But it seemed his father wasn't going to do anything. At least, he saw he merely gave him a faint smile and nodded towards the blind half Zercan. He wondered if he had been told about that, surely he knew his mother would talk.
"Of course," It was Frey who spoke, after seeing that Rykan had come down. "I was hoping you would." Really, it was what he had hoped for. "Come now, have a seat and I'll come to serve you something to eat as well.
Calim was already seated at the table. Shou had come to seat himself as well. Ferren however, stood up a bit longer, wanting to offer his mother any assistance he may need.

Rykan sat next to Calim, chewing his lip slightly. He never imagined himself to be sitting with a family of Jshikos.
"If I may, Frey," he said hesitantly. "Once my arm heals, I would be happy to prepare you all a meal. I am one of the most highly sought after professional housekeepers on Zerca." he said. "It's the least I can do to repay your kindness, before I leave the city." He said.

Frey wasn't expecting the offer Rykan gave. He wondered how he managed to be a housekeeper. Well, he felt he must be the type to be independent. It only made sense. He to took that as a sign of the other male having been without sight for quite a long time.
"Thank you for the offer Rykan, I would love to try your cooking, as would everyone else here." He heard the agreement of Ferren, Calim, as well as a slight nod in agreement from his mate.
"Now, we'll be right back." he took Ferren's hand and lead him off to the kitchen. He didn't waste a moment, taking up a bowl filled withe some of the veggies he had prepared. "Go on, and come back to assist me with the rest of the things." Frey added that, hurrying Ferren off.
Ferren found himself heading back into the dinning room. Where he started to serve the food on everyone plate, setting the remainder in the middle of the table .So anyone could take some out. There was something to dip it out with. "I'll be right back." He spoke this, after he was done, going off back to the kitchen.
This was what went on for a few trips, until Ferren was back at the table with Frey, with all of the food served. A smile was set on Frey's lips as he looked over his whole family, then to the unexpected guest they had today. "Alright, you can all start eating, I especially hope you enjoy the food Rykan." He didn't recall ever having to cook for a non-Jshiko. Perhaps a few times, but right no it had been awhile.
Ferren had took the time to look over everyone, after taking a seat, something his mother did as well. He heard he could eat, but he didn't think to be the first to do so. He had his attention set on Rykan. Merely wanting to see his reaction, towards the food his mother made. Calim however, didn't bother to wait. He already started eating, not mind the others about, though he did still notice what was going on around him.

Rykan thanked Frey and Ferren, and began to eat slowly. Frey was a marvelous cook, and he told him so.
Ferren seemed to be genuinely relieved and Rykan shrugged off the urge to shake his head. It wasn't like he was suddenly going to turn tiger and eat them. They were kind enough to have him as a guest and he would respect them. Simple as that.
He continued to eat slowly, listening to everyone aroung him. Calim was about to choke on his food.
"Calim, slow down a bit." Rykan warned. "You're about to--"
Calim began coughing and Rykan sighed. "Choke." he finished, before patting the boy on the back.

Frey didn't get a chance to be complimented by anyone other then his family. Not to say he looked, or fished for compliments. His family had told him they liked his food. But they were family. It just seemed entirely different when dealing with someone else like this. He of course thanked the other for the complement. Mentioning how he really wouldn't mind cooking for him again, which would more then likely be the case. He did expect the other to be staying here for quite some time.
Ferren hadn't missed what was last said. Besides what Rykan had said, referring to cooking for them all, he noted the other bit he had said. Not just what Rykan had said about himself. Something had been quite a surprise. Rykan didn't strike him as someone who would be a housekeeper. Something bothered him. Not anything necessarily bad. It was just, he supposed it was the fact he considered before. That Rykan would have to go. But that was something he had in mind earlier. Something that made no sense still. But once again, he didn't think very much into it. Simply letting himself eat.
While he was eating, Ferren found himself surprised to hear that it seemed Rykan seemed to know his brother would choke. At least, that was what it sounded like. "Are you alright Calim?" Ferren managed to speak up first, sure that his mother would have if he hadn't beat him to it.
"I'm fine." Calim's reply came, with another cough. He did seem alright for the most part. He made a mental note to slow down then ext time he was eating. "Hey," Calim directed his gaze towards Rykan for a moment. "How did you do that?" The guy couldn't see, and yet he knew that he had been eating too fast. Did he have some sort of special powers? He had to wonder. Its why he asked.

Rykan shook his head, turning his head to Calim. "I heard it. I could hear your breathing slow down, and the air sounded forced, so you were about to choke." Rykan explained simply, taking a bite of fruit. "I have been blind for my entire twenty years in existence, my other senses are simply stronger and sharper." he explained, turning his head to Calim and smiling, albiet a bit sadly.

Calim really was amazed to hear how sharp Rykan's senses were. But he couldn't help but frown a bit towards what was mentioned about his blindness. That answered that unasked question. "Wow," It was the only word he could think to describe how he thought it was cool, but a little sad at the same time.
Ferren, made a mental note of what he had just heard. So, Rykan was born like that. That was...unfortunate. That meant he had never seen anything before. He couldn't imagine how that must have been, He was glad he managed. If he hadn't, he doubted he would have a chance to be here with him.
The next person to speak at the table was Frey. Finding a sudden downtrodden overcast set, even he found what he heard sad. "So, Rykan, you say you are from Zerca, right." He believed that was what he heard.
"Is there anything you'd care to share about yourself, anything you think worth mentioning." This was not just for the sake of moving on to something else, but Frey was sure it would save Shou from inquiring about the young man later.

"Well," Rykan began, sitting up a bit. "I am from Zerca, indeed. I am only half Zercan though, so my form isn't as large as other Zercan's. My beast is a white tiger. My mother is very ill, and I'm here on Jeskara to search for a cure for him before the end of the month." he said, basically wrapping most of the important facts in a nutshell.
"Ah...I have a younger brother named Xero who was recently mated to a half-vampire named Jonas," he said, thinking about his family. "My father is a highly decorated fighter Captain and my mother is the only Majikadai in our city. Other than that I've told you most everything." Rykan said, cocking his head a bit. His communicator was going off upstairs.

Ferren was intent on hearing what Rykan had to say. As everyone else was, or he was at least sure that was the case. He didn't think he would have heard all this so soon, if his mother hadn't asked. He had heard about his mother but he hadn't been aware of the rest of his family. He imagined Rykan would be going back to his family as soon as he finished what he had come here to do. Something he did hope he was able to accomplish soon.
Frey gave a faint frown towards Rykan's words on his sick mother. "I would hope that you find that cure, soon." It was horrible to hear someone in his family was sick. He wished he could do something to assist in some way, but he doubted he could. Still, it couldn't hurt to offer. "If there's anything at all that I can do, don't hesitate to ask." Much like Ferren's offer to help. Frey felt that it would have been a crime not to offer. He couldn't turn away from someone in need.
Calim, couldn't help but be curious about what this brother was like that Rykan had. Well, he was considering that and what had been first said. Why Rykan was here. Was he suppose to say something about that. It wasn't a good thing to hear. That anyone was sick. He might have offered to say something, but he heard his mother speak first. Well, if there was anything his mother would do, then he would help. Otherwise, he wasn't quite sure what to say from here.
Shou had been eating, and observing the male he heard was called Rykan. He wanted to see and talk to the other by himself, but he supposed there might not be any point in doing that. Especially when he heard what he would have asked about himself. There was that, and that the young man here seemed to be honest. He had nothing more in mind to ask. His thoughts were merely considering that a young man, having no where to go, had a place to stay.
He wasn't bothering to consider the part where Ferren came in. He would just let that drop. He merely hoped that the young man would recover quickly, in order to accomplish what he came here for. Then he considered something. "I have yet to introduce myself, I am Shou, Ferren's father." It seemed appropriate to get that out of the way sooner then later. "I wish you luck with accomplishing what you came here for." Shou was a man of few words. Not that he couldn't talk when he wanted to, he could start conversations. He just didn't so much with strangers he just met.

Rykan looked (theorhetically) at the family around him. They were all so helpful and kind, yet his mission was a dangerous one. He would have a hard enough time locating the Majikadai, not to mention convincing them that he was a descendent of their lineage.
"Thank you for your kindness, but you have already done more than enough for me. I couldn't possibly place you all in the dangers I am about to face. I'd feel terrible for it," he said, thinking of his arm. When Ferren's father introduced himself, he blinked, not actually expecting the man to say anything at all.
"It's a pleasure to meet you sir. Rykan Hakurion of Zerca, thank you for your hospitality and you sentiment." he said politely, bowing his head.

Shou gave slight nod of acknowledgement towards the said name. This young man, Rykan, really did seem trustworthy. The fact he didn't care to put his family in danger, with the help he knew they would offer, his mate for sure and his eldest son, then no doubt even his youngest would want to do something. He couldn't allow his family to do anything that would endanger their lives. Surely, Frey would understand that. No matter how much he wanted to help, there was no way they could put their children in any dangerous situation.
Frey couldn't help another frown. He could understand the dangers here. Ones simply referring to searching in the woods. He didn't dare think to go out there. Though he did want to help. "I don't mind, if there's anything at all, please I'd hate to think you go out there and put yourself in danger, when I could have offered some assistance." He just wanted to do something to help. Surely, he could gauge the danger himself.
It had been quite a long time since Frey had been in the woods here. If only due to the dangers. He hadn't been born in the city, he was from there. Surely, he would know the place well enough to assist, as would his mate. He thought there must be something they could. This was something he was going to be insistent on.
Ferren briefly looked over everyone sitting at the table. His gaze eventually landing on Rykan. He did so want to do something to help Rykan. Even though he did recall clearly what happened today. Even with the danger involved he at least wanted to be by Rykan's side. Which seemed a bit silly, he had just met the male today. He figured it was because he simply worried a bit too much. He wouldn't know how Rykan was doing if he went off, and he was here, at home, unaware of what was going on. Thinking about it, he bit his bottom lip a bit. Surely, there was something he could do himself.
Calim wondered what kind of dangers Rykan was referring to. It seemed everyone else knew but him. He did know the other races on this planet. He figured what they referred to. He just never had a run in with anything in the woods before. He had only been there, perhaps a handful of times. His parents had already moved out of the woods by the time he came along. Maybe, he could take a look himself. Maybe.
