Tsing stomped out his cigarette with the tip of his boot.
“You know, you should quit.” came the voice of his band mate Du Fei.
He stuck his tongue out. “Look who’s talking. You smoke three packs a day.”
“So? I play guitar, I don’t do the singing thing.” he retorted, taking a drag on his own cancer stick.
“Whatever.” he muttered, looking at the clouds that cluttered the night sky.
“So…how’d the date go last night? Like her?”
He shrugged. “She’s aggressive alright…maybe a little too much. Damn woman tied me up and left me hanging.”
Du Fei chuckled, flicking off the ash gathering at the end of his cigarette. “Harsh.”
“I ended up calling Xiao Mei.”
“Again? She’s too sweet for you.”
“That’s funny. She’s the biggest whore in Beijing.”
“I thought that was your mother.”
“Hey!” He turned and slapped the back of his head. “Don’t talk about my mother that way!”
“Okay okay! Geez, let up, willya?!”
He huffed and shoved off him. “I won’t forgive you next time.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. “Ah, I’ve gotta get going. See you.”
“Bye, don’t get lost this time!”
“Screw you!” he hollered over his shoulder as he ran across the street and down the ally, towards the train station.
He rushed into the car just as the doors shut and took the first seat he saw. Sighing, he leaned back and played with the tie to his school uniform. It was so quiet on his way home, every night. As per usual, the car was empty, and the only sound was the constant ‘clack, clack-clack’ of the train as it rolled over the tracks towards the next station.
It got boring pretty damned fast. Just like his stupid everyday life. He woke up early, went to school and sat on his ass all day, the second the bell rang he rushed to the studio to practice. After several greuling hours of that, he got on the train to go home, only to spend hours working on his homework, in which just figuring out what he was suppossed to do in the first place was a feat of it's very own. Damn...he deserved a prize at how long it took him to do his homework.
Sure, he was busy....he hardly ever slept anymore...not that he usually did anyway...but everything he did do was repetitive and boring. He was sick of it.

The ship was too hot, the engine broken, sparks flying from the control panel...and did he mention it was hot? Hanyo pushed back raven hair that was falling into his eyes, gritting his teeth as he pushed keys to pull up a map. He didn't know where Sefora was, his computer seemed to have deserted him for the time being. All the more, he had no idea where they were, how they had ended up passing Jeskara all together and right into a asteroid belt. Not the smartest move in the universe. Sweat tracked down his forehead as he fought to bring the ship under control, throwing himself into his chair as turbulence shook the tiny cargo ship.
They were entering an atmosphere, some planet that had managed to snag him into it's orbit. The large sphere filled his screen, greens and blues swirling with white, overcropped with brown. Suddenly, Sefora's face popped up on a nearly opaque projecting screen. The boy looked disgruntled, his blue hair skewed. "Hanyo, I would advise landing this hunk of junk. Your father wouldn't be too happy if he lost a whole ship of cargo. The engines burning up."
"Where are we exactly," Hanyo demanded," how far away from a ship with parts?" The Zercans eyes flashed a deep gold before settling to black and he settled the ship as the screen filled with green. Trees he supposed they were, some sort of forest vegetation.
"I believe...if the coordinates are working correctly, that this would be Earth, your mothers planet." Hanyo sighed in relief as the ship died down around him. lights blinking out, a door opening somewhere to let out the unbearable heat. Hanyo looked out of the screen, standing to pull his jacket on, the stitching on the outside proclaiming Z-Shipping Co. He had always wanted to come to his mothers home planet, to investigate the stories he knew2 by heart. By whatever fate had thrown him off course he wasn't going to waste this chance.

Ignoring the faint 'boom' he heard as he got off the train, Tsing stuffed one hand into his pocket, and adjusted the single earpiece in his ear. He turned up the music and started out of the station. The place was deserted, save for a few workers cleaning up after another day of constant hustle and bustle.
He hopped down the steps, and began his slow descent home. Ugh...he hated the streets at night. He'd never admit it, but walking passed all the gangs of teens, and clubs filled to the brim with people scared him a bit. Sure, he acted like a hot shot, but in truth...well...to put it nicely...he still slept with his teddy bear.
He turned the corner, and passed a group of men who glared at him. 'Damn school uniform...' he thought to himself. He brushed his bangs out of his face. A few more blocks and he'd be home. Good, because he was dead tired.

Hanyo stumbled down the short flight of stairs that had unfolded from the side of the ship, stopping to stare up through the trees. The sky was black, filled with tiny pin pricks of white light. Just like his mother had told him. And the trees.....not a forest obviously. A tiny outcropping of trees barely big enough to hide his ship, surrounded by flat, empty land with benches. "A park, I believe," Sefora's voice crackled over the communicator he kept on his wrist. "There should be some sort of life forms nearby...humans. Have fun Hanyo," the boys' voice was almost a giggle, and Hanyo scoffed before clicking the communicator off. It didn't seem so bad, Earth. At least, not as bad as some of the Zercan's tried to make it out to be. In fact he rather liked it.
Buildings where everywhere around the small park, lights glaring from everywhere in the dark, illuminating a street. Hanyo ran a hand through his hair before stepping out of the trees, striding across the park, and stopping on the sidewalk. The cold cement ran both ways and he looked back and forth. Some people were out, milling around. The Zercan stayed back against the wall of a building, wary, trying to decide which human to approach. They all looked rather busy, or were scowling. He half wondered if he would have better luck getting a place to stay if he was in cat form. Sighing, he crossed his arms, footsteps piercing the darkness to his right.
Turning dark eyes to the figure he watched the boy coming, the fatigue clear on his face. Hanyo was intrigued and he let his eyes wander, taking in the rather strange uniform the other wore. "Excuse me," he tried in his most kind voice, his silky accent snapping forth through the quiet.

His head snapped up and he stopped, looking at the one who had spoken. 'Great...' he thought. Sure, he sounded nice, but didn't they all? He had no intention of staying out later than he had first intended, and his annoyance showed on his face.
He studied the man quietly, eyes trailing from his face to his feet, and back again. He looked away and gave an irritated noise from the back of his throat. "Sorry to disapoint you." he sneered. "But I'm not a whore, so go crawl back into whatever ditch you just slithered out from."

Hanyo was confused, and he searched his mind for the meaning of the word. He was sure his mother hadn't left anything out when he explained about his home planet. So why was this boy being so rude? Pushing himself off the wall he stood to his full height, stuffing his hands into his pants pockets. "I'm sorry for any misunderstanding," he looked out into the night," and I did not.....crawl from a ditch. I'm new here," he lied, wrinkling his nose, "I was only wondering if you could tell me where exactly i'm at. No more, no less. If it's not too much of a problem that is." He flicked his eyes back towards the boy, staring at his face. The moonlight wasn't much, but he could make out quite a handsome face. He was sure it would be even nicer to see him in the light, and he had a sudden urge to completely see him. Taking a deep breath he calmed his temper and the strange feeling in his stomach, hoping he hadn't put any unneccessary sting into his words. It wouldn't do to scare off the first human he encountered.

He raised an eyebrow. "Where you are...? You're shitting me, right?" he asked, as if the man were stupid.
Just his luck..he ran into some weird psycho, and no one was around to help him. Save for the group of fellows across the street...yeah...like they'd be any help anyway. Maybe getting someone to walk home with his would be a good idea...like that one woman at the studio. What was her name again...? ANyway...she scared most of the men...she was butt ugly and everything. Maybe he could con her into walking with him, to keep creeps like this guy away from him. Hopefully he wouldn't ever have to touch the woman...He shuddered at the thought.

Hanyo made a growling low in his throat. If all humans were as disagreeable as this one, he wasn't sure how long he could bear to be on Earth. Maybe the Zercan stories weren't so far off after all.
"Fine, if you aren't going to tell me, i'm sure I can find somebody else who doesn't have a stick up their ass," he huffed angrily, enjoying the fact that he could finally use the phrase his mother had thaught him, pushing a hand through his hair. His nails, which had grown with his bought of anger, snagged the raven strands and he worked on calming himself, pushing back the cat inside of him. He looked away as his eyes flashed dark golden, cat slits clearly visible. If he let himself get out of control here not only would he be deemed crazy, the human would probably be stunned beyond repair. How he wished his brother were here. Jeka would know exactly what to do, how to handle the boy.

"What!?" he asked, voice rising. He glared daggers at the taller. "I do not have a stick up my ass!!!" His fists clenched at his sides. He was completely insulted. "Look at me when I'm talking to you, hey!" he shouted, drawing the attention of the men across the street. He shoved the other quickly. "Say it again! I dare you!!"

Hanyo felt the human push him and almost laughed as he fell back against the wall. No one but his brother had ever dared to stand up against him, none but this little lifeform who knew nothing about him. He didn't know that Hanyo had the power of a panther behind his visage, didn't know that he could snap that pretty little neck in one fell swoop. He liked it and grinned, staring up through his bangs as he let a little chuckle loose.
"Calm yourself," he noticed the stares of men across the street, of people trying to get a look at the scene. "I meant no insult...well, maybe I did. And I don't really mean one now but, you hit like a girl." Hanyo was intrigued. How aggressive would the boy get?

He gritted his teeth. "Are you looking to get your ass kicked?!?!" he demanded. He hated how this man looked at him as if he could chew him up. As if this were some big game. And that really pissed him off.
He ripped the earpiece from his ear and stuffed it in his pocket and cracked his knuckles. "Say it again." he taunted.

Hanyo struck his tongue in the side of cheek, biting off laughter, standing once again, flexing his fingers. "Alright, i'll say it again," he pulled his hair back, securing it in a short ponytail with a band, "you-hit-like-a-girl," he spat out, emphasizing every word, taunting in his own little way.

He clenched his teeth. There was no way he'd let him get away with it! Never! He hated it when people danced on him like this guy was. "So...you are looking for a fight. Fine then!"
He darted forward and swung, aiming for the guy's face.

Hanyo's eyes flashed, he couldn't stop it, didn't even try as he ducked, darting forward, an arm going around Tsings waist. He swept one foot under the boys legs, feeling him fall a bit before he turned, grabbing his arm and slamming him, a little harder than he should, into the brick wall of the building. "I wasn't looking for a fight," he breathed, holding the inert hand to the wall, his other placed near Tsing's head. "I only asked a sinple question. Seems to me you have so much on your mind you lash out at the first person to say a word to you."

The wind was knocked out of him as he was slamed against the wall. 'Holy crap...' he thought. The guy had moved far too fast for him. He shook his head to clear it and coughed a bit.
He gritted his teeth and sneered. "Shut up! Get the fuck off me!" he swore, kicking at him with his feet.
