Whispered Dreams (Open Thread)

[Adish]

Adish shook his head, still not meeting Kinome's eyes. He fingered the scar on his chest again, a habit, it seemed, that appeared whenever he thought of his brother or his acts. He had been proud before... but since he'd met Kinome... it hardly seemed so glamorous, even if he was defending his brother.

"No... I... I understand. You witnessed your mothers death, so you see this from the victims eyes. That's understandable. If you... if you want me to stay away now... I would understand that, too," he said softly. He pouted a bit, biting the inside of his lip to keep from sniffling or crying in front of Kinome. He had hoped that Kinome wouldn't be afraid of him, but he could see the fear in the other's eyes... the Human, his mate, was actually afraid of him. That was something he could never forgive himself for.

"No!" Kinome burst out reaching out to grab Adish before even thinking about it. "Please don't leave me." Kinome pleaded, eyes wide with desperation. "Please don't leave me alone. I... I... please?" Kinome's hand trembled. It was true he feared the fact that Adish had killed but he feared being abandoned even more. He didn't want to be abandoned again. He had lost everything and seemed to have found something in Adish. He didn't want someone he loved abandoning him again. He dropped his gaze, and his hand, releasing Adish and hiding his tear streaked face. "I love you." He whispered on a breath, not sure of he wanted Adish to hear or not.

Adish's eyes widened. Had he just heard... what he thought he heard? He swallowed nervously, not sure whether to jump for joy or hug his mate to death. He chose a happy medium of the two, pulling Kinome into his arms. "And I love you, Kinome," he said softly, smiling like an idiot. "I'm glad... I'm so happy that you... you don't hate me- that you aren't afraid of me... That's the last thing I want. I never want you to be frightened by me," he mumbled softly, nuzzling the Human's soft, silver hair and kissing his cheek. "I'm sorry if I'm coming on too strongly? I may scare you away with my own happiness by smothering you," he joked, laughing lightly. He had been so scared that Kinome would run away from him... He didn't want to be scared any more. He would hold his promise; he would make Kinome happy.

Kinome groaned, dropping his face into his hands. Adish 'had' heard and Kinome was uncertain if he was as yet ready for that. He was not certain if he was ready for the additional responsibility his declaration had gotten both him and Adish. "I shouldn't have said that." He whispered. "You cannot stay. If my father has a bad day and finds you... if your brother gets seriously hurt without you there to protect him..." Kinome simply shook his head at a loss of what else he could posssibly say to convince Adish... especially now after the mistake he had made in admitting love. He hadn't mean to say that aloud.

[Adish]

Adish stiffened, not really sure of what to do now. What does a person do when their mate excepts them, then spats their love back in their face? "Kinome...," he mumbled, shrinking into himself and pulling away from the Human. He stood from the bed, wrapping his arms around his body as he stepped backwards towards the far wall.

Hadn't he had enough? How many times was the boy going to cry out for help before ripping his heart out each time? Adish was physically starting to hurt; as if his heart really was being torn from him... How many times was Kinome going to proclaim his love- ask him to stay, before changing his mind and pushing him away again?

"Kinome...," he started again, when he felt the wall to his back. He collapsed to the ground, glaring up at the boy as much as his pained body could muster... which wasn't much. "Why don't you just rip my fucking heart out and get it over with already?" he hissed, gripping his chest as he spoke, "Do you like seeing me hurt like this? Do you like seeing me cry from your rejections? Are you happy now? How many times are you going to let me fall for your stupid trick... how many times are you planning on fooling me into thinking you love me before throw me away again?" he asked, his voice shaking. "I've had enough of this, Kinome! I'm not a fucking yo-yo!" he screamed. He didn't think he could take anymore... he was going to break down... but in the end, he knew he'd always just go crawling back...

Kinome's eyes widened, hurt coursing through him at Adish's words. Could Adish not see that this was tearing him apart... that it was the best he could do. Could Adish not understand that Kinome only wanted Adish to be happy. It hurt him to have to give up a chance at happiness like this but he was doing it because he cared and not because he wanted to hurt Adish.

Kinome choked on his own sobs, blindly reaching out towards Adish. He shook his head in denial, Adish's words cutting into him like daggers. "No..." He whispered hoarsly. "It's not like that. I... I... What I want doesn't matter. My father will hurt you... he could even kill you if I let you stay. I cannot... won't let that happen... no matter what I want. That would be selfish. I don't want you hurt... That's why I want you to go... Go protect your brother. I'm as good as dead anyway." Kinome sobbed, hating it that Adish thought he was trying to trick him... that Adish thought he would be heartless enough to play games with people's emotions like that.

[Adish]

Adish took in the boy's words, trying to see if he could be lieing- trying to hurt him again. That was how Kinome really felt? The boy was selfish, even if he was trying not to be. He was only thinking of what he wanted for Adish, not what was best for them. If Adish left, they'd both be in more pain than they were right now... that was almost unimaginable.

Adish swallowed slowly, standing on wabbly legs and slowly making his way over the Kinome. He sat down next to the bed, resting his head tentively on the boy's lap. "I'm not going anywhere without you. I can't. I would die if I weren't near you," he said softly.

Kinome continued to sob into his hands his shoulders shaking. "You can't stay and I can't leave." He hiccupped. "What on earth do you propose? Suicide?" Kinome laughed bitterly, sniffing in misery. "That would just be stupid."

[Adish]

Adish's heart ached at the thought of death. He didn't plan on either of them dieing any time soon. "No. Nothing like that at all," he mumbled, climbing up onto the bed to lightly hug Kinome. "We'll figure something out... Just... please... just once... tell me you love... mean it, and don't take it back," he whispered softly. He wanted to hear it just once. Even if the boy never said it again to him... Once would be enough for him, as long as he meant it. Adish needed to hear it.

"I... I... can't." Kinome sobbed in misery. "I don't want you hurt and if I say that you will insist on staying here and if you stay here you will be hurt maybe even killed. I don;t think I can watch another person bleed again. I don't think I can watch another die and still remain sane... or regain sanity as it may be. Don;t make me go through that again... please..." Kinome whimpered.

[Adish]

Adish frowned, closing his eyes tightly. It was useless to try and get the boy to do anything other than what he wanted; it seemed Kinome always had a way of making it sound like it was for the best... even if it wasn't. "My love... the bond that holds us together... that makes us mates... If we aren't together... the pain of being seperated will kill us both. I'm not just saying that to be romantic... It's true," he said softly, opening his eyes to look at the Human with a stern look. "Now that we've found eachother... It would be stupid to just... walk away like nothing happened. You can't just toss me to the side like old trash and say that you know what's best for me; I'm strong enough to take care of the both of us, you know. I'm strong enough to keep myself from getting killed by some... deranged man," he said softly. He pulled Kinome into his arms and kissed his cheek, wiping away the tears the boy had cried. "Please don't cry anymore," he whispered.

Kinome shook his head. "Then I guess we are damned." he whispered in resignation. You say if we are seperated it will kill us but if you stay and my father hurts you it will kill us as well. He won't mean it... it's not his fault he's deranged. It's mine. How could it kill us already." Kinome enquired. "We have not bonded yet have we?" We barely just met. Maybe it will be okay." Kinome spoke desperatly but something in his hear some instinct he had known nothing about told him that no matter what he chose to do, it would kill him. if not physically then inside.

[Adish]

Adish shook his head solemnly. "Our souls are mates, not just our bodies," he said softly, "Just by meeting, they have bonded and will not be seperated." He knew that Kinome wouldn't leave of his own accord, so he would have to make him come by other means. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right? Adish sighed softly, cuddling against Kinome with a whimper as he tried to form a plan... plans weren't his forte.

Kinome shook his head, not wanting to believe that. He wanted Adish to leave. He wanted Adish safe even if it tore Kinome apart. “I’m late for work.” Kinome mumbled tired, reluctantly drawing away from Adish and slipping off the bed. He hopped around in search of his crutches which he had left in the kitchen.

[Adish]

"No!" Adish stated firmly, scooping Kinome up and placing him back on the bed. "You stay here and recuperate!... I'll go do your work for you," he offered, though he left no room for argument. "The store, right? Just tell me what to do and I'll go do it, okay? You shouldn't be walking around with a sore foot!"
