Adish pouted at being rejected again. Who does this kid think he is?! If he wasn't so pretty, I'd-- ... He frowned at himself. What the heck am I talking about? I'm acting like he's my mate or something!
When the door slowly swung back open, Adish watched with concern as the boy trudged down the dark hallway. How could anyone stand to have a home that's so... impersonal?
The dragonis carefully stepped into the house. He knew he wasn't supposed to... that the boy obviously didn't want him around... but he couldn't ignore the feeling that he needed to be here- no matter how hard he tried. He walked as quietly as he could with his boots on and stopped at the door the boy had gone through.
He just had to make sure the boy was okay...

Kinome stumbled into his room, just barely making it to the bed where he curled up shivering slightly. His room was just as bare as the corridor, housing only a single bed and closet. The colours were dark, gloomy and cold. The room itself was quite chilly too as Kinome refused to turn on the heater there... he couldn't afford the luxury. He was struggling enough as it was paying for food and the heat in his fathers room... not to mention other costs.
He was going to get into trouble if he was found in his clothes and shoes and not his PJ's on the bed... depending on what kind of day his father was having that is. But he really did not have the energy to change. He groaned softly buring his face in his pillow. He hated it when his mind and body were at odds. His body wanted sleep... His mind was busy reprimanding him for being so negligent. What on earth was he going to do?

Adish watched quietly as the boy collapsed onto the bed. The sight made him want to just grab the boy up and hug him... but Adish didn't hug people. He took a step into the room, making it louder than before so the boy would be aware of his presence.
"I'm sorry. I know you want me to go away, but I can't. Not in good conscience. Let me help, please! And then I'll be gone I-" think "-promise."

Kinome jerked sitting up and turning to face the intruder, instantly regretting the action. He glared at the unwelcome intrusion unable to do anything else. If his father found the stranger in the house there was going to be hell to pay... With good reason. Experience was a hell of a teacher. "There is nothing to help with." He gasped out. "What are you going to do? Watch me sleep? Please... just go...I don't want to get into anymore trouble. You have no reason to care one way or another anyway."

Adish pouted angrily. "There's plenty I could do! You need to eat! I make really good food... most 'the time.... And anyway, you should have someone here just in case! What if you get really sick or don't close the front door all the way." Hmm, do you think that was obvious enough?
Adish stepped into the room and looked around. It was cold, in more ways than one. "Please! I'm not one for begging, but I do what I have to. I always get what I want, and I want to help you!"

Kinome gazed at the stranger, wondering why the stranger was so damned persistent. A rush of remembered fear ran though him, causing him to back away. The stranger had said he always got what he wanted. Those words were chillingly familiar. "I don't have anything to give... I promise... Please don't hurt me... Don't kill me."
A dull thud resounded through the home. Kinome had fallen off the bed. He was cursing himself for not haviung closed the door properly. It seemed like he was going to pay... Pay in the same way that... Kinome froze up, clenching his eyes shut and hoping this was all a dream. His breath was becoming laboured... heavy. In fact... he could feel a panic attack coming on making it almost impossible to breath.
Kinome's hands went to his throat. He curled in on himself. Why now? Why was this happening now? It had been so long since it had last happened. Why was it happening now when he needed to be strong to defend himself?

Adish blinked. Was it something he'd said? He carefully approached the boy, moving slowly in an attempt to not frighten him any further.
"I'm not quite sure what you mean... I don't want to kill you... I don't want anything from you... I just want to help you, honest!" He sank down next to the boy. "It's alright. There's nothing to be afraid of. I swear on my life I won't hurt you," he promised. He couldn't think of anything else to say. He gently touched the boys shoulder. "I won't let anything bad happen to you. Just like I promised Eade! I always keep my promises!"

Kinome began to count in his head. He remembered the doctor’s instructions from long ago. Block everything out, count slowly and breathe. He followed the instructions to a T, the panic receding when he found he could start breathing again. The air flowing into his lungs was such a relief. Once he had his breathing under control he began to take stock of his surroundings once more, panting heavily.
The stranger was still there. The stranger had not hurt him. The strangers touch was gentle, rather comforting actually. These were his first realizations. He blinked up at the Draconis, wondering what the stranger was going to do next, still concentrating on taking slow careful breaths.

Adish smiled softly in an attempt to... he wasn't really quite sure what, but he thought it would help. "Oh! My name's Adish! I forgot to say that before, sorry. I make really good soup; would you like some soup?" he offered.

"Soup?" Kinome gasped out. Where had that come from? Why was the stranger... Adish as he called himself going on about soup. Why was the stranger following him and bothering? As nice as soup sounded Kinome could not accept. He couldnt affort to have anyone in the house when his father came home. It was never a good thing no matter what kind of day his father was having. There were simply put, too many bad mamories attached to such for it to be any good.
"No." Kinome shook his head. "Please... just go... There will be trouble if father comes home and finds you here. Please..." Kinome didn;t know what else to say. If he had been feeling better he probably would have bad mouthed the stranger, shoved him out... Scratch that... he would have not been in this situation to begin with.

Adish pouted. He wanted to get angry, and yet, at the same time, he couldn't. He slouched back, plopping down to sit on the cold floor, crossing his legs in front of him. He heaved a sigh and looked up at the boy... He still didn't know his name...
"So... You really won't let me help? Not at all?" He pursed his lips in thought. "There has to be something I can do? Please? Anything." The boy needed someone's help, because something was obviously wrong; the silver-haired beauty wasn't being treated like he should. "I don't care if your father sees me. I promised you I wouldn't hurt you, and I won't let you hurt yourself, either. I protect the things I care for, and I'm not quite sure why, but I kinda like you. So you see? I have to help," he said quietly, "I don't know anything else to do. When I'm home, I can take care of Eade. But I'm not home now, and so.... so...." He looked up at the boy sadly. Nobody had shunned him like this, not even his mother! It hurt, but it seemed to hurt him more than it normally would have. I don't understand what's going on. Why won't he let me help? *sigh* Eade would know what to do...

“I only have the flu or something.” Kinome muttered, staring at Adish. “I will be fine. There really is no need to concern yourself.” Kinome frowned. Why was Adish so insistent on ‘helping’ him? It wasn’t like Adish knew him or anything. Certainly the stranger didn’t think that having witnessed his collapse upon the street required him to help? It wasn’t Adish’s fault. “I’m not hurting myself. I have never been nor do I intend to be suicidal. You really don’t have to do anymore.”
Kinome hung his head in sudden shame. Was he really that weak? That helpless? He was even a bother to strangers. No wonder his father had given up on life the moment his wife had died. There wasn’t any reason to live for a useless son like Kinome. “I’m sorry to have been a bother but doubtful as it may be I can take care of myself. I have been doing fine for the last three years you know.” Kinome glanced up suddenly, grey eyes searching violet. “What difference does it make to you anyway? You don’t even know me.”

Adish blinked in surprise. "I told you. I have to take care of someone. I feel stupid and..." He frowned and looked away. "Momma always says I'm just a waste of space and air...," he muttered quietly, staring intently at the ground, "He says that he wishes he hadn't ever had me and that... if I'm not gonna help the world.... then... I should leave it..." He pouted. He hated thinking about the things his mom said when the man was angry. Adish knew that the dragonis didn't really mean it- he was just mad... right? "So, if I help someone... then I'm worth something, right? And... I'd like to help you."

Hurt laced through Kinome at the hurt he could hear in Adish’s voice. He could hear that Adish was hurting and for some reason didn’t want him to hurt like that. No one should feel like they were a waste of space and air. Even Kinome himself didn’t feel that. After all… he was being useful to his father, even if his father never noticed.
He swallowed, trying to rid himself of both his dry throat and the pain of sympathy. “You did help.” He whispered. “Really, you did, and I… I’m grateful. I really will be alright you know… Honest. It’s not the first time I have been ill and I doubt it will be the last. If you really want you can stay a little while… it will be boring ‘cause I want to go to sleep but for just a little while you can stay, since you seem so worried. Only you really have to leave before father comes home.”
Kinome had no idea why he let the stranger say. Since his mothers death he had been terrified of people. Terrified to let anyone near him, let alone touch him. Come to think of it… why hadn’t he screamed when Adish had touched him? Maybe he really was more ill than he knew. Kinome sighed lying back down. He didn’t really care that he was still on the ground. He honestly didn’t think he had the energy to get up anyway. Kinome yawned. “Night, mom.” He murmured, already half asleep and not realizing what he had just said, mind drifting off to happier days.

Adish smiled softly. Finally! A break through! He tilted his head in confusion when the boy laid down on the ground. He was about to say something when he heard a the boy speaks quietly, mostly asleep.
"Night Mom." The red-head blinked. He realized then, that the boy hadn't said anything about his mother! He wondered what was going on, though only slightly- it was the boy's business and not his.
He stood quietly and moved to pick the boy up, placing him carefully onto the bed and covering him with blankets. Adish sighed softly and looked down at the boy. He light brushed the bangs away from the boy's face.
"Wow! You've got a fever real bad!" he exclaimed, trying to keep quiet, "But don't worry. I'll make you some soup, and you'll get better." On impulse, he leaned forward and kissed the sleeping boy on the forehead before leaving to go make his soup.
