Step and Slide

Akia sighed as his heart pounded against his chest. His fingers tingled and went numb as Amoris held the injured hand, gently caressing it with his soft touch. Akia's heart soared once more as Amoris kissed it.

He took his now bandaged hand, cradling it in his other, before gazing back up into deep violet eyes. Akia smiled, tears of happiness sparkled in his blue eyes. He went to slide his arms once again around Amoris' neck, kissing him. Akia couldn't get enough of the man's lips on his own.

Akia breathed softly, only centimeters away from Amoris' mouth, "Thank you."

Amoris smiled and winked. "No prob," he said. Slowly he stood up and brought Akia with him. He dusted them both off to what he deemed satisfactory before nodding to himself.

"Okay then...Are we all good now?" he asked as he slipped a hand around his mate. He loved the word...Such a sweet thing, having a mate...Especially such q nice one like Akia.

He grinned as he lightly nuzzled the side of Akia's head. "The other two went ahead of us, so we're going to have to either walk or get some vehicle to pick us up...Oh! You can ride me!"

At Akia's very startled and flushed expression, he blushed a bit as well. "I meant I could turn...into some animal...and carry you."

'RIDE on Amoris!?!' He knew what Amoris had intended to say, but still...

Akia blushed beet red at the double meaning of the statement.

Being with Amoris' arm around him made his skin feel even more sensitive to touch. Akia loved it though.

He leaned up against the taller man seeking, wanting more of the warmth the other radiated.

Akia then got an idea, "Amoris if I'm too heavy, I could try and transform again into something lighter, but anyways let's go. This place is started to creep me out."

It was the first time Akia actually looked around and fully took in his surroundings; dark and creepy, like from a horror movie.

Amoris chuckled as he led Akia out of the alleyway and onto the street. "There now. That's better," he said, surveying the beautiful night sky that forever loomed over Jeskara.

The brunette tapped his foot, thinking as he watched the sky above. Now what could be big enough to turn into? Either something that can move fast or can fly would be ideal...Ah!

He closed his eyes and felt his body go through the shift. When he opened them again, the picture he could see was clearer and extremely sharp. He chirped as softly as he could, but that was still pretty loud and people turned to look. It was Jeskara though, so nobody thought it was odd that a man had just become an animal.

The Jshiko turned his back, so that Akia could climb on. He knew he could carry him in this form. After all, he was a larger form of an eagle.

Akia stepped away a little as he felt Amoris' soft skin change into soft feathers.

Cerulean eyes gazed up in amazement at the majestic bird. Amoris always made such beautiful transformations. The white-haired youth couldn't help but raise his 'good' hand, wanted to pet the animal; he was all ready lost in the bird's mesmerizing gaze.

It was then Amoris lowered his body and beckoned for Akia to climb on. The boy did so, and he found a comfortable spot and held on as tight as he could, but gently enough that he wouldn't hurt Amoris.

Akia smiled and leaned down to where he supposed Amoris' ear would be and whispered.

"You're beautiful Amoris."

Amoris cawed in a light chuckle. He'd have to thank his mate for the compliment later, if he remembered. He didn't think he was the good-looking one, but Akia was.

Making sure that his mate was secure, he leapt into the sky. The weather was glorious and it was the perfect for a flight. He glanced back at his mate and would have grinned at the expression on the other's face if he could have.

He flew in different pattern, but made sure never to go upside-down. He didn't want Akia falling off, after all. Finally, after ten minutes or so, he thought he saw the school ahead and began to slow down. He shrieked to let the silver haired young man know they were almost there.

Akia closed his eyes as Amoris soared in and out through the white clouds. The wind blew swiftly through his white hair, scattering it about in disarray. Akia made a quick mental note to brush it as soon as they landed.

Suddenly, his eyes were startled opened again at the loud caw Amoris made underneath him. Akia looked down, but returned his eyes forward. He never realized they were flying so high. A small gulp of fear escaped his mouth, however, it only lasted a second when he remembered Amoris would never let him fall.

Akia trusted Amoris with his life, but it wasn't like he was going to test it.

Perin walked toward the doors of his and Kale's home as soon they were on he school's ground. His arm wrapped protectively around Kale's waist.

"Kale, today has been such a busy day, why don't you go to our room and rest awhile and I'll be there in a second." He smiled mischievously.

Just then, a faint but familiar scent caught his attention. He looked upward, and waved his arms enthusiastically. Perin shouted out.

"Amoris, that's you isn't it?!?! Your sense of direction seems to have gotten better, but how are your landings?!!"

Amoris soared over the school, admiring it from this 'bird's-eye-view'. The school was much like the ones that Earthlings had in the ancient times. It had several buildings inside it surrounded by a bunch of little ones, and a giant was encircled the whole area.

He could see a figure emerge from one of the small houses and call up to him. Was that a taunt he heard...? He gave the bird equivalent to 'hold on!' before turning into a small dive.

It wasn't a big one though...He didn't want to kill his mate of fright or something...but it was enough to get him to his destination. He landed just short of being directly in front of Perin.

He squawked smugly in his friend's face as he primly folded his wings into his body.

Blue eyes widened as pale hands clung onto the feathers. Akia gave off a soft gasp. He had not been prepared for Amoris' sudden dive.

Akia clenched shut his eyes, and before he knew when he opened them, Amoris landed gracefully on the ground. His wings folded on either side of his body.

Akia sighed, it was fun to fun to fly but he did like to have his feet on the ground once in while. Realizing he was still on Amoris, he slid down Amoris' smooth feathers.

He looked ahead to see Perin running toward them. Akia brushed back a few tears, it still hurt to know Kale didn't love him anymore, even though Akia has and loves Amoris now, he knew that kind of pain would never be erased.

Perin ran toward Amoris just as he touched down. The green-haired man slowed giving a little pout, crossing his arms.

"You show-off."

But his smiled returned when he saw Akia standing next to the giant bird of prey.

"Hiya, cutie! Good to see you're feeling better. Hope this big brute, didn't give you any trouble?"

Akia smiled a little as he rested his hand upon Amoris' silken feathers, stroking them lightly.

"It's good to see you too, Perin. Don't worry Amoris took very good care of me. He is...my mate after all."

Akia flushed deeply at the end of his sentence. And white cat ears started to peek through his hair.

Amoris shifted back, so that Akia's hand was resting resting on his shoulder. He laughed and nodded at Perin. "See? I'm not that bad!" he said, wrapping one arm around his mate's waist.

The brunette glanced around the grounds, listening to all the activity going on. He loved this place! It was home to him; and soon, it would be his mate's home as well.

He blinked at that before looking over at the silver haired young man with a frown. He hadn't meant to assume they would live there...They needed to talk about it, but perhaps that talk should wait until a week had passed. That way Akia could see which he liked the school or not. If he didn't favor it and didn't want to return to Earth or something, they could maybe go Parinenai where Akia's Wizard blood came from.

The Jshiko shrugged before glancing back at the school. They would have time. Right now though, he was curious. He asked Perin, "So, what's been happening around here lately? I mean, besides you arriving back from your trip...We were really worried you know. You just disappear for a month..."

Perin looked to Amoris, and with a shrug of his shoulders, spoke nonchalantly.

"To tell you the truth, it's been pretty dull around here, well for me anyway. That's why I went to Earth. I wanted to some excitement, and from what Master Shibbs told us about it; I couldn't wait to see the place for myself!! Who would have ever thought I would find my mate there?! Speaking of mates, I've got mine waiting for me."

Perin started to walk toward his rooms when stopped again.

"Why don't you two lovebirds, go and get some rest too. You did have a long trip." He whispered the next part, "Though sleeping together I don't think you two will be sleeping much." Perin giggled as he disappeared inside.

Akia's ears twitched nervously, he did hear the green-haired man's words, but before he could say anything he gave off a small yawn.

Amoris looked over at Akia when he heard the young yawn. He chuckled as he brought a hand up to play with the fuzzy cat ears that just barely stuck out from underneath his mate's silver hair. "Tired?" he asked.

At the other's small nod, he nodded and started to lead them to his house after waving a farewell towards Perin and Kale's house. "Okay," he said. "We'll go back to my rooms...Unlike the others here, I have living quarters inside the halls..."

They walked into one of the larger buildings and began walking down the corridor. People along the way greeted them quickly before hurrying on their way. They had to travel down a bit until they arrived at a branched off area with a small sign marking them as 'private chambers'.

The brunette pointed to a blue door and walked over to it. He opened it and pushed it opened it to reveal a rather nice looking room. It was spacious with a dresser, a couch, and a rather large canopy bed centered in it. There was another door off to the side that lead to a bathroom.

"Do you like it?" he asked softly as he directed Akia into it.

Akia felt like he was going to purr when when Amoris touched his cat ears.

Akia crossed the spacious room and settled down on the edge of the bed. Gazing around blue eyes took in his surrounding. "I love it, Amoris. Your family must love you very much to allow to stay here with luxory and good company."

Then Akia lowered his head again, he wanted to think of Amoris all the time, but Kale's image kepting repeating in his mind's eye. Just then, cerulean eyes spotted their luggage next to the door, which they entered.

He started to stand and turned to Amoris, "Uh, Amoris, do you think it'll be all right if I go see Perin, you don't think he'll be busy, do you?"

Akia, seeing the expression of Amoris' face, reached up his hand to touch Amoris' cheek , "I wouldn't be too long. I just want to give him something."

Amoris forcibly smiled at Akia's comment about his family and nodded. "Yes...Well, I suppose you could, but...don't get lost and...knock first." At his mate's confused look, he laughed. "They did just get back from a long trip and stuff."

His smile was genuine as he gestured to the door. "Do you want me to stay here then? I'll put the clothes away then, I guess..." he said.

Akia didn't want to be apart from Amoris longer then a second, but he had to do this on his own. That was a decided fact.

"I promise, I'll come right back."

With that Akia went over, lifting his shoulder bag over his shoulder. After giving Amoris reassuring smile, and kiss, the white haired boy sent off down the hall, where he supposed Perin's room was.

After only a few minutes, Akia found the door through which Perin disappeared through. He was about to knock, when he heard strange noises beyond the door. The rustling of sheets as well as loud and soft moans came to Akia's ears as he pressed up against the door, curious what was going on.

Akia blushed at the thoughts coming to him, "They must not be that tired, if they're going at it like that. It would be rude to disturb them though."

Laying down his bag, Akia took out the picture of Kale, and small pad of paper. Akia sat in the hallway a few minutes writing a quick letter to Kale and Perin, wishing for their happiness together.

Folding the paper, he tucked safely into the frame of the picture and as quietly as he could opened the door just enough to slide the item through the crack.

Akia closed the door and picked up his bag. He smiled as he walked back to Amoris' room. He finally felt free. He no longer felt tied down by the past. He couldn't wait for what the future was to bring; a future with Amoris.
