Audley watched the small dark haired Incubus walk into the room. There was something about him that he just didn't like, and he felt incredibly guilty for it. He shouldn't make judgments about people before they even properly met. This guy was part of Cameron's family, so he should be polite. The Majikadai still couldn’t help thinking the newcomer held a sense of arrogance, though.
And then Emyln spoke and Audley found his first impressions were true. This relative of his mate's was a rude, stuck-up, arrogant... weak little thing.
The insult made the lavender haired boy blush lightly, though. He was sure the Incubus was talking about him the whole time; but when he added that little part at the end he couldn't help feeling angry. The man had no right insulting the brunette's looks. Audley found his mate much more attractive than either of the Incubus in front of him(which wasn't surprising), but it also had a lot to do with Emyln distorting his own face with disgust and stuck-up-ness.
If Cammy hadn't spoken first, and gripped his hand so tightly, he was sure he would have flung himself at the irritating little male right away.
Even if Cameron didn't mind being insulted, only if some one insulted his mate, what he forgot was that he had a mate that could angry just as well. And even though he was quiet around strangers and felt awkward hugging and kissing in public, he had nothing against defending his mate in any way possible. That was perfectly acceptable in Sanjiv- as it was anywhere in the Universe.
His light brown eyes narrowed and a glare was aimed at the little Incubus. Just because he was the life-bearer, and Cameron the life-giver, didn't mean he could not fight. Cammy even admitted he was a better fighter than him. But they were in a really nice house, and Aud didn't want the Incubus side of the family to find more reason to hate the half-breed side.
"Really, Cameron, it's alright," he said quietly, giving Emlyn a look that would send him flying across the room if Audley was only a Wizard. He smiled a fake smile. "Just because this little man suffers from feeling insignificant gives us no right to threaten him. But really," he continued in his soft, dangerous tone, "we should feel pity for one that reeks of conceitedness and has a face that scrunches up in an oh-so-ugly way and with that voice- oh that voice. I feel so sorry for you, Ren, to have to be stuck with some one with a voice that sounds like a wild pig being strangled to death. It must be so horrible to be with some one with such unattractive qualities.... Yes, Cameron," he said, refusing to call him Cammy in front of such an annoying and rude person, "we really should feel pity, not anger," he said, lowering his voice in pretend whispering.
Once he was done with his little "speech" Audley was surprised with himself. Where did that come from?? The only thing he feared now was Ren getting angry. It was kind of a shame that the redhead had to be with the raven haired man. Ren wasn't completely horrible, and at least saved his bad comments-if he were to have any-for when Cameron and Audley weren't around. He glanced at said Incubus' briefly before going back to giving Emlyn a challenging glare.

Cameron was absolutely amazed that his mate had gotten such an outright attitude with his cousin. He knew the younger boy wouldn't have been pleased in the least with the black-haired incubus, but he hadn't expected Aud to return the insults. By the looks on the faces of the two other incubi in the room, they hadn't expected it of him, either. But while Ren's face had held a bit of silent amusement at the outburst, Emlyn's look quickly faded into blind rage.
"How dare you?!" He hissed, instantly turning to his mate, "Ren, do something!"
"You brought it on yourself," The calmer incubus sighed, a smile still threatening to appear on his lips. A smile definitely wouldn't have went over well with his furious little mate, though it was not like refusing to aid him in his cause was making him the happiest little ball of sunshine, either.
"He's insulting me! Doesn't that make you mad?!" He pouted, the semi-whiney tone returning to his voice gradually. He could already tell this was a battle he would lose, though pride compelled him to continue fighting anyway, "You love me, don't you?"
"I love you more than life itself," The taller boy confirmed, "But I'm not going to pick on your cousin and his mate because you want me to. If you ask me, you got what you deserved on that one."
The long-haired incubus froze, not sure what to say at first to save some face. Furious visibly bubbled right under the surface and finally exploded as he wheeled around, taking a few angry steps towards the other couple with a loud huff.
"Well, if you're not going to do something, I will," He proclaimed, making it about two steps before Ren quickly reached out, grabbed his mate's wrist, and held him still.
"You've done enough," This time, Ren's voice held a noticeable edge as he pulled the younger boy back to him, wrapping his arms around his waist to keep him from doing anything stupid, "Time to stop."
"Aww, look at that! He's so cute when he's being treated like the three year old brat he is at heart!" Cameron snickered sarcastically to Audley, giving Emlyn a mocking look. The half-Zercan's cousin looked over his shoulder at the two with an absolutely venomous glare.

Audley watched the little Incubus in mild amusement. Emlyn was actually like a little kid, in his opinion. The way he was trying to make Ren guilty by asking if he loved him was low, though. It made people assume he didn't trust his mate, and that he was willing to go to all costs to get his way. Doing something like that didn't make the Majikadai like him any more at all.
When the man stormed up to him he didn't even flinch. He saw little animals that were more dangerous than this Incubus. Of course, if Ren hadn't stopped him the lavender haired boy would not have hurt Emlyn. He would just hold the slightly older male so he couldn't move. The raven haired one obviously didn't realize how strong his cousin's mate was.
Audley laughed softly when Cameron commented on how 'cute' his cousin was. He shook his head, giving Emlyn a look. "You should listen to your mate," he said quietly. "You wouldn't last two seconds against me," he added, though not arrogantly. He was just stating a fact. A true fact. Aud highly doubted the Incubus had ever been in the wilderness of Jeskara one day in his life.

"Two seconds?" Emlyn snorted indignantly, "Just try it and we'll see how long I would 'last'!"
"Quiet. You're going to end up making a fool out of yourself," Ren mumbled to the other, suddenly bending a bit to scoops up the younger incubus in his arms bridal style despite the protests that followed the action. He strolled across the kitchen casually and finally stopped at the back entrance, setting Emlyn down on his own two feet again, "Go help your grandparents finish cleaning up. I'll be up in a second."
For just a second, it looked as if the shorter boy would snap and chew his mate out for treating him like a child. But, instead, he just glared at Ren for a moment before wheeling around and storming away. Once Emlyn was out of sight, the other incubus turned back to the couple with a small smile.
"He really hates you now," He laughed. Cameron rolled his eyes.
"I thought he hated me already?" The half-Zercan asked flatly, still a bit irritated, "Are you going to try and tell me that the nineteen years of terror since he was born have been his way of showing affection? If so, I feel terribly sorry for you."
"Oh, no, he hated you plenty before, but now he's really pissed off. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't try and jump you next time we have one of these family get-togethers. I'll try to get him to behave himself, though," Ren joked, a small, quiet laugh escaping him as he turned to exit the room, "I better get back upstairs before he goes off on someone up there. Congratulations and all that. See you around."
Cameron gave the other a slight nod before Ren disappeared as well. He felt indefinitely sorry for anyone that happened to be upstairs and within Emlyn's reach. But, it was better to have him up there than down in the kitchen annoying them. He looked back to his mate, an amused smirk on his face.
"Not all of Dad's family is like Emlyn, thankfully. In fact, most of them are about a thousand times more tolerable. Still, I think you'd like Mom's side of the family better. They're a lot nicer and definitely more fun," He nodded, "So, ready to leave now?"

Audley nodded. Oh yeah, he was ready. He didn't really want to run into Emlyn again. Even if there was a small part of him that wanted to prove the Incubus wrong, the other teen was sort of annoying. "Yes, I am," he answered. "I sort of like, Ren, though," he added in response to Cameron's first comment. "It must be hard putting up with a mate like Emlyn, and he seems to do a good job."
"And I am excited to meet your mother's side of the family. It'll be nice to meet people that will probably be happy to meet me," he said softly. The Majikadai leaned against his mate slightly, resting against him. "Do... you think you're up for a trek through the forest?" he asked hesitantly. "I honestly don't see any other way you could meet my family, and as much as I don't look forward to having you take that walk to my village, I really want you to meet them," he said softly.

"M'hm. They go well together. Emlyn needed someone to keep him in line. But whatever twist of fate that decided to give him such an annoying mate must have a really cruel sense of humor. He deserves better than Emlyn," Cameron shook his head. Anyone deserved better than Emlyn as far as he was concerned...
"I really, honestly don't mind walking through the forest," The half-Zercan nodded when his mate brought the subject up, "I was doing just fine before, except for the whole panther situation. But, that was just a fluke. I can make it."
As true as it was that Cameron wasn't fond of camping trips and he was more apt to city life than anything else, that didn't necessarily mean that he couldn't make it through the forest. Being half Zercan had it's own advantages and animal instinct just happened to be one of them. Forests and the like were included in there somewhere, so he couldn't see how he'd ever have a big problem with it. Besides, it was just a forest. How hard could it be to keep up with his mate in such a place, anyway?
((Gah, my connection keeps flickering on and off again. ><))

Audley glanced at his mate uncertainly before nodding. He didn't think Cameron realized how hard the walk was going to be, but he did bring up a good point. Being half Zercan had its advantages. If any danger came up, he could simply transform into his panther form. Or if he couldn't climb a needed tree his panther form would be able to so... that calmed the Majikadai slightly.
"Okay," he said softly. He smiled slightly. "We should get going then. Cheyenne and Turin should be heading to the spot soon, and I don't want them having to wait too long. Besides, I can't wait for you to meet everyone! And it's at least an hour walk... maybe longer," he said, trailing off. He didn't know how long the half breed would need to get there, he might tire after awhile if he wasn't used to this kind of walking.
((I hate when that happens -.- ))

Cameron nodded, briefly slipping his hand out of Audley's so he could quickly replace the platter he'd removed from the fridge back into it's rightful place. Once everything was back to the way it had been, he turned back to Aud and slipped his arm around the Majikadai's waist, finding that he rather liked the closeness. Eager to leave the house and not have to deal with it's occupants for a long while, he walked straight to the front door and stepped outside, not bothering to call a 'good bye' to anyone on the way out. Once he had cleared the front gate, he let out a brief sigh of relief.
"Next year, when they have another one of these reunions, how about we bypass coming to see Dad's family and just go visit yours?" He jokingly suggested. Though, there was a bit of a sincere offer in there. He hadn't yet met any of Aud's relatives, but they had to be somewhat better than Emlyn and company, "Unless you want to visit Emlyn, our most favorite person in the whole universe, again?"
He could already imagine that the next meeting between the three of them wouldn't be a nice one. Thankfully enough, they had a year to worry about that, and possibly even longer. It was doubtful that Emlyn would forget being insulted by the two of them, so it was best to just avoid him all together. Even though he wasn't a threat by himself and even though Ren hadn't decided to cater to his mate's will moments earlier, there was only so much insults to his mate that he could take before even the red-haired incubus became furious as well. Ren, when he was angry, was not someone that Cameron wanted to be in the same room with, much less the cause of the anger.

Audley laughed, slipping a hesitant arm around Cammy's waist as well. "Hey, he still wants me to prove that he wouldn't last two seconds against me," the teen pointed out. "I mean, I wouldn't hurt him or anything, but he should learn not to start things he can't handle. It's a good thing he has Ren. I think he would be a very sad Incubus if he didn't have some one so level-headed."
Cameron was warm, and that made his mate happy so said lavender haired teen snuggled against him as they walked. "And we really should visit both families," he added. "Even if it's just a quick hello... it's only polite."
It wasn't as far to the meeting spot as Audley had expected. Then again, if the half breed had wandered away from the reunion that wasn't surprising. Neither of the two older Majikadai were there yet so the newly found mates opted to sit in a grassy area on the ground until they did show up.
"I wonder how long they're going to be," he muttered, picking a blade of grass idly.

"I hope they don't take too long. If this is going to be an hour long walk, then we should probably need to get started soon," Cameron mumbled, picking at the grass as well. In particular, he was scanning some sort of little flower-like thing sprouting up from the ground. He gave it a good look over before carefully plucking it out of the ground to survey it. Once he was satisfied with it, he halfway turned to his mate and leaned over, tucking it carefully behind the other's ear. Once it was in place, he leaned back and admired his handwork with a grin.
"Beautiful," He grinned, leaning forward for a quick kiss placed against the other's lips.
He pulled back away from the quick kiss again, giving his mate a smile. To Cameron, there was no better feeling than being with Aud. His mate was adorable and it made him happy just to be around him. Every time he stole a kiss from the other, he was ecstatic. It was a really corny feeling, he knew, but it was true.

Audley blushed, hovering his hand over the little flower. He was smiling though. Just a small smile, but a happy one. Cameron thought he was beautiful? Or... that the little flower sprout was? Oh well, it didn't matter. The teen was filled with happy little butterflies all the same because of his mate's gesture. The quick kiss helped, too.
Only a few minutes after their little "moment" Cheyenne and Turin walked up to them. The older Majikadai gave the younger an odd look. "What are you blushing about?" he asked, before being elbowed by Turin.
"We should go now. It's already getting late, and I know we all want to get home before too long," the quieter of the two said, urging the new mates up off the ground.
They walked along silently for awhile. Aud wasn't sure exactly how long it was, but he did know they were able to keep to the ground. He was glad his companions understood that Cameron wouldn't be able to skip through the trees easily, if at all. It was actually a pretty easy trek so far. Turin was skilled in finding the easy routes.
After another while Audley sighed softly. The ground was getting more rugged as they walked farther and farther away from the city. Since many of the occupants had to venture into the wilderness for food, there was an area around Jokadi that was clearer than the rest of the forest. Not many people wandered this far out for food, though.
"We're going to have to go for trees soon...," Cheyeene announced, glancing behind him at the younger too as he spoke.
The lavender haired boy nodded. He fingered his pocket, making sure the little flower was still there. If he left it behind his ear the little thing would fall to groung, and he didn't want to lose it. It was still there.
"Maybe you should transform soon?" Audley suggest to his mate. "It'll be easier to climb and jump as a panther...."

The walk hadn't been all that hard, really. In fact, Cameron hadn't even started to get tired yet. The ground had been even and it had been fairly easy to just step through any underbrush. But then, of course, things just had to get a bit harder. The ground gradually became rougher and for the one inexperienced at trekking through the forest, it was getting a bit tougher. Finally, when they announced that they would have to take to the trees, he realized just how tricky this actually be.
"I suppose there's not much of another choice," Cameron mumbled, "I don't exactly feel like falling out of a tree and breaking my neck, at any rate. Just be sure to get my clothes once I transform, or I'm going to make you explain to your family why I have to introduce myself in the nude."
The half-Zercan honestly wasn't that fond of this transforming deal. It wasn't pleasant, for sure. It wasn't exactly painful, but it just felt odd, having every single structure in your body change in a matter of about fifteen seconds. It didn't exactly sound so attractive either, what with bones popping every few seconds as they were rearranged. Definitely not an attractive thing to do, at least by Cameron's own standards. But, there wasn't any other choice if he wanted to make it all the way to Sanjiv.
Initiating the transformation was more or less a matter of just 'flipping' the figurative switch in his mind, his body already kicking into motion as the change in form started and stopped a few seconds later, resulting in one tan-colored animal wriggling free from the t-shirt and jacket around it. Once the cat was free of the clothing, he sauntered casually to his mate, rubbing against his legs with a deep, feline purr. Well, if he was stuck in this form for a while, he may as well enjoy it, right?

Audley smiled down at the animal rubbing against him. It wasn't an animal at all, actually, "it" was his mate and he was looking very... cute. The teen smiled, leaning down to stroke Cammy's head affectionately. Was the half-Zercan purring? That was so sweet! The Majikadai knealt down next to his mate and scratched his ears lightly.
Cheyenne cleared his throat, causing the two mates to look over at him. "We should hurry...," he trailed off anxiously. Aud realized he must be anxious about getting back home, too. The teen nodded, and after gathering his mate's clothes stood up. The problem was where to put them.... The only logical place was inside his own shirt. So he rolled them up and slipped them in his shirt to rest there until they got to Sanjiv.
"Ready, Cameron?" he asked. "We'll have to jump through the trees for awhile... just follow us, okay? I-I'll be right near you the whole time though," he added.

If cats could laugh, Cameron would have been. Even if he was currently in the form of an animal, it was strange to have someone pet him. But, it was enjoyable.. very, very enjoyable. Whenever his mate’s hand touched him, he naturally leaned up against the touch, the feline purring only stopping as Cheyenne announced that it was time to leave.
The inability to talk while in this form was mildly annoying. So, when his mate told him that they would be jumping through the trees, he could only give a small ‘nod’. Really, he didn’t know how good mountain lion were at scaling trees and leaping between them… but it was still better than trying to feat in his human form by a long shot. Crippling injuries weren’t all that appealing.
(( Sorry, not that much to write while he's in kitten form. XD; ))

When the mountian lion!Cameron nodded Audley smiled and nodded back. Once the four of them had gotten high enough in the trees the Majikadai's senses hightened. It wasn't just instinct. Most of it had to do with his mate being there with them. Since the older boy was not experianced in this kind of thing... Aud wanted to hear and see everything that went on around them.
They started out slowly, and when Cameron didn't seem to be having much trouble the small group quickened. Audley never stayed far from his half-Zercan mate. The other never left his sight. Cheyenne only allowed them two short breaks, but it was okay. They didn't run into trouble along the way and their new member was getting along alright.
Awhile after their second break Cheyenne led them to the ground. It wasn't completely clear, but there was enough room for them to stand.
Audley walked over to Cammy, knealing down next to him. "Sanjiv is up ahead about fifteen minutes or so. We walk the rest of the way because the tree limbs are too weak around here. The houses are built on the strong ones. Would you like to change back behind a bush or something?" he continued quietly, pulling the other's clothes out of his shirt.
(( No problem ^_~ ))
