He shook his head emphatically. What part of 'same' did this Koi not get?
He pointed to himself again, then pointed to Koi, waved his finger back and forth between them. Pointed to his tail, then to Koi's; pointed to Koi's gills, then to his.
He made a chomping motion again, while pointing to Koi, then pretended to bite his own hand.
That would be like eating myself. We are the same.
Of course, it probably didn't come across that clearly.

He sighed, then waved it off. That... was pretty much a terrible idea to begin with.
He wished he knew this person's story, but he couldn't exactly ask. He wanted to help this person, but he couldn't exactly offer. Without a voice, without telepathy, he was officially sunk as far as friendship went, especially since he couldn't write out what he felt or thought. He frowned.
He made a motion as if writing, then looked questioningly at Koi - maybe he had something he could use to write?

He sighed. The shallows...
Then he raised an eyebrow at Koi. Held their breaths? He took a deep breath, then sighed. THis... strange person was confusing.
Then he frowned. THe shallows might work after all... at least for Koi. As long as he stayed in the water... that might work.
He smiled, suddenly, then motioned with his hand for Koi to follow, before kicking forward towards where he knew the shore was.

Shore loomed ahead, and Tri smiled playfully, pushing Koi towards the sand, though he himself stayed in the water.He made a swimming motion with one hand, beached it in the sand, then turned it into a pair of 'legs' and 'walked' them up the sand - then he gave a look at Koi, tilting his head.

He could feel a feeling of choking up - but whether it was sadness or the curse, he couldn't say. He pushed back into the water, then pulled himself back up. Wiped the sand clean.
It could be hard. But you can.

Tri nodded encouragingly, trying not to let his heart break. If he could help this 'Koi' find some kind of happiness, or at least, some peace of mind, then that was good enough for him.
