[Alan/Nikolai]
The boat sways beneath his feet, the sun beats down on him, and Alan smiles as he watches the waves crash around them. The captain told him he could go out for an hour before heading back in, the weather says a storm is coming in. But for the moment the blond male is contented and at peace with the world. He even convinces the sailor to stay out longer than originally agreed, pointing out that the skies are completely clear... well for now at least...

Nikolai had been swimming peacefully in the ocean when he noticed the ship. He could feel the storm coming in and wondered when it would go back to shore. He kept close to it vowing to try to keep these humans safe as long as he could.

Leaning against the rail and turning his back to the see, Alan leans his head back, sighing. Everything in his is relaxed, if only the captain didn't take this as a sign that the storm won't be on them. Unfortunately the waters aren't all to kind to those whom don't heed its careful warnings.
The day quickly turns to a rolling storm, both humans jumping when thunder claps, "We'll be leaving now!" Alan nods as he moves away from the railing and watches as the sky turns from a beautiful blue to a raging black. Its the first time he's ever seen it and he's mesmerized by it a moment, in this time the ship begins rocking, his feet sliding closer to the edge.

Niki looks up to the sky as he watches it change then back to the ship fearing the worst. He prayed silently for them to make it safely home, but he stayed close in case they didn't.

Soon the waves begin to rock the ship, Alan is starting to regret doing any sort of convincing. He slides to the rail when a particulary large wave crashes the boat's side. He clings to the rail as the boat is continued to be assaulted, hoping desperately he won't lose his balance. But with all the slippery water flooding the deck he may not have a say and he doesn't. His feet slide from under him as the ship lerches, throwing him over the side.
The captain shouts after him as his fingers loose their grip. He lands in the cold, churning water with a barely audible splash. He tries to kick to the surface, for he went under the moment he landed, but its useless. The current is too strong and he can't fight as the ship glides over him. His oxygen is running our fast as he continues to fight none the less.

Niki watches him go over and rushes under the waves to get to him. He wrapped an arm around his waist before moving towards an island. He had spent his life swimming in these waters so he knew how to get through the waters easily. He soon laid him on the shore and watched him to see if he could breath.

His air gets tugged out of him as he feels himself being dragged away. Suddenly he's braking the surface, he feels sand around him. After a moment he can force himself to cough and gasp for air, a little water coming out when he does. He rolls onto his side and continues to force air into his lungs, mind not yet registering that he's been rescued.

Niki pulled back still half in the water, and glad he was breathing. He did not speak though, not wanting to scare the human.

Once he catches his breath, Alan pulls himself into a a sitting position, the storm still rages around him. He frowns as he squints and tries to see into the distance, trying to find the ship... But... its... gone.
He frowns before looking down and promptly looking back up with a shout of, "Whoa!" He can see Niki watching him despite his distance. "Hey! You need to get out of the water... What if the tide pulls you in!?" He jumps to his feet to help them onto shore.

Niki tried to protest as he was pulled to shore, knowing now that the other would be able to see his tail and ears. "I can fight the currents," he told him softly.

"I highly doubt... that?" He catches sigh of Niki's ears and then his tail, eyes widening in disbelief.

Niki did not want to frighten him by changing to a human. "Are you alright? You were in the water for a while."

"You're... You... I've gotta be dreaming," He backs away from the water. "You... don't... really have a tail do you?"
