Jiri shoved his hair back from his face as he finished preparing the twins lunch before making his way over to their play table to serve them only to blanch when he saw little Van had found his older brothers artist chalks and drawn gibberish on the walls again.
"Van," he scolded, sitting the plated down and making quick work of taking the chalk and washing the kids hand. "What did mama say about-"
"Shhhhhh," Van said with a snort, having never lost the attitude he had had as a baby. "You shush, mama," the four year old said before shoving his healthy lunch of a turkey wrap and carrot sticks and peach slices off the table and on to the floor. "I'm not eating that cwap! I want burgers!"
Jiri's mouth fell open. This was the second time in two days the kid had basically told him to shut up. He wished Gamma was here to take care of the situation. Jiri had never been good with punishing and felt like he wasn't that great of a mother because he was unsure how to react being as his emotions had only really come in tact just before his older son, Halen, was born. Halen had been a good, if hyper kid. His other twin, Misha, was very soft spoken and intensely thoughtful never giving either of his parents an ounce of trouble.
Van though, Jiri couldn't help but feel like the kid didn't like him which made him feel like a shitty parent.
Clearing his throat, he calmly cleaned up the mess and made the boy the exact same lunch before delivering it to him only this time Van through it in his mama's face.

"It's fine, Halen," Jiri said, wiping the peach juice from his face and cleaning up one more. Afterwards he cleared his throat and went back to Van. "I think you need to go to your room, son."
"I DON"T HAVE TO LISTEN TO YOU!" Van shouted and reached out and snatched Misha's half eaten wrap out of his hand before throwing that too at his mama.

Halen snatched up the kid. "Yes you do! Mom is our mom! You need to respect him. Throw anything else at all and I'm telling dad to punish you. Go to your room!" he said, setting Van down and telling him to march.

Van jerked away from his older 9-year-old brother. "Daddy wont believe you. Daddy loves me and only me." That said he poked his tongue out and marched out only to run to the door when he heard the door open and jump into his dad's arms. "I missed you so much, daddy!" he immediately said, hugging Gamma close.

"Hey, my boy," Gamma greeted. " Have you behaved today?"
"No! He threw food in mom's face!" Halen said, irritated. "And he told him to shut up!"
Gamma frowned. "Van, is that true?"

Van looked at Halen with big, teary eyes before turning to his dad. "Of course not, daddy. Halen's just mad because I ate all my food like a big boy and he didn't."

Gamma blinked. "Is that true Van?"
Halen frowned. "No! Come look at the kitchen!"
Gamma sighed and followed his son to the kitchen. Misha was picking the last bit of lettuce out of his mom's hair.
"Hi Daddy," he greeted quietly.

Van immediately burst in tears. "I didn't mean to! It slipped. Please believe me, daddy! I didn't mean to!" he wailed.
Jiri just sighed and shook his head before turning back to Misha. "Mommy doesn't have anymore turkey but I'll make you something else if you want."

"So your sandwich slipped and your juice too?" Gamma asked, setting the boy on the floor as he took in his mate's wet shirt and hair. "No, don't make anything else, Jiri."

"Misha is still hungry, Gamma," Jiri said with a sigh as he led his youngest over to the fridge. "He didn't get to finish his meal."
"Because he's not a big boy like me," Van said, scowling at his mama when his dad turned away only smile brightly when Gamma's eyes touched on him again. "I've been waiting for you all day, daddy! I made sumfin in my room. Imma be a police just like you!"

Gamma looked down at his son, "That's great, but first you need to apologize to your mother. Misha, why didn't you get to finish your food?"
Misha looked at his father with big eyes. "Van threw mine."

"Stop lying Misha!" Van growled, taking a menacing step towards his twin. "I didn't do anything to mama! You're all lying on me because you want to be with daddy but daddy loves me!"
Jiri could only shake his head in disbelief. Where in the bloody prasidion hell had his son picked up this stuff?

"Van," Gamma said with authority in his voice. "Come here; I think you and I need to have a discussion."

Van immediately smiled and pranced over to his father. "Yes, daddy?" he smiled innocently up at the man, wide eyes batting. He looked like an angel.
