I drop onto my old bed with a groan and roll onto my stomach. Cooking for the yearly family dinner with Ma is a nightmare! Try being yelled at for six hours and then slaving over a stove for just as long. Then having to taste test the crap, ugh. We should of just made my giver and giver brother make it!
But no, being the bearer I have to learn this sooner or later so I can take care of the family. I'm sorry to those who will be food poisoned today because me and mom can't cook fancy foods. Anyways, the good parts to today.
My cousins are coming over for sure. And maybe my Aunt-in-law? I don't know about her, she was invited. We even would pay for her to come, but I left the room before I knew if she was coming. Xui couldn't make it though, awe too bad for Sora. Mom dragged him here by his ear so he'll actually spend time with his first family.
Back to Xanto, erm, my cousins. They're going to be here any minute and Ma told me to clean up for my mate. Yeah my second cousin is my mate, get over it. So I had showered and now lay naked and spread eagle on bed, ass to the air. If I really wanted to dress I would, but whats the point? I'll just get worked again.
Seiya, my mother is a slave driver when it comes to parties. Any kind. I even had to work on my eighteenth birthday party, just barely getting away due to my job. My work place, the happiest place for me, well if Xanto was there it'd be better. But like I was saying I work as a secretary for a well know company by day and a stripper by night.
I flick my red, morphed tail over to my stereo and crank up my favorite song: Get it up. And sigh into my blankets. If Xanto catches me that's fine. Stars, if he caught me he could help me with what I'm about to do.
The other reason my mother sent me to cool off was because of... I bring my hand down to my well, you get the picture...

I sat at the table, we were waiting for Riona... Again. Where the hell is the boy I have to call my mate?! I offered to go get him, but Seiya said no, that he'd be here soon. After another five minutes, I was sick of waiting. I hopped up and went into his room. What I saw shocked me. Riona sat on his bed, doing, you know what.
"THIS is what you're keeping us waiting for?!" I screamed at the boy. I was beyond furious. This boy was worse than Momma Alex, and that's saying something. Suddenly, I heard screaming from the other room, followed shortly by gunshots.
I pushed Riona behind me and told him to stay silent. I turned the lights out and shut the door, then, we slipped into the closet.

I whimper behind Xanto. What's going on out there? Is the family being...? I can't hold myself in the closet any longer and jump out, morphing as I go. I'm not letting my family go with out a fight! My Zercan blood egging me on as I race out to defend who may still be alive.

Damn it, Riona. I race out after him, and am shocked at what I see. There room is destoyed, but, there is nobody there but Riona, in his human form. He's leaning over a body. I walk over to him, and gasp at what I see. It's my mom, Alex. But he's bloodied and he's really pale. I check his pulse, and it's there. Faint, but definetly there. I grab mom's AI out of his pocket and call the hospital.
"Yes, this is James Allen Memorial Hospital."
"I need an abulence here, now! My mom has been shot and is barely alive!" I scream at the man.
"Yes sir."

Soon the transport is there. They take my cousin-in-law Alex out. Xanto and I follow quickly and we are let on as well. And in no more than five minutes we are at the emergency wing of the hospital. They take Alex away to keep him alive and fix him up.
I take Xan's hand, "He'll be fine." And I wrap my arms around my mate, trying to comfort him.

"T-thanks. I'm just worried about Dad. What happened?" I ask Riona, squeezing his hand. But, before he can come out, the operating light went off and the doctor came out.
"Are you here for Alex Summers?" The doctor asked.
"Yes, I'm his son and this is my mate."
"I've got good news. He'll be fine, the bullet just missed his heart. But, I have to know. What happened?"
"I-I don't know. The rest of my family is missing. We were out of the room when it happened. By the time we got in, everyone was gone and Alex was lying on the ground."

I bite my lip while listening to the news. My mate had made it so I couldn't get to my family... The rest of who I am.
Looking the doctor in the eye I ask, "When will Alex be able to have visitors?" My arms hold Xanto tighter.

"You can go see him, but I warn you, he might not be coherent." The doctor explains, but I wasn't listening. I was already running down the hall to his room. I throw open the door, and step inside.
"MOM!" I scream and run up to hug him.
"Xan! You're safe!" Alex exclaims, looking me over.
"Mom! What happened?"
"These men broke into the house, and ordered us into this transport outside. I was shot when I refused to go with them." Mom explained as Riona finally entered the room.

"They kidnapped our family?" I growl when I enter. "What did they look like? Can you think of any reasons why they might of wanted to do this? I need answers." My fists clench as I stay in the doorway, not approaching the only member of my family with guts.Why my family? And why now of all times?

Moving forward I walk over to my cousin Alex, "Sorry... Are you okay?" I stand next to Xanto with worried eyes. "Are you in any pain?" Taking my mate's hand for the first time today I frown.
"Alex... Xanto..."

A doctor came in carrying a communicator. On it was Grandma Lyxie, who had a grim look on her face.
"Mom!" Alex exclaims.
"Alex! Xanto! Riona! You're all safe! Thank the Stars." She exclaimed.
"Grandma, what's wrong?" I ask, how did she know what happened.
"I just got an anoymous ransom message. It asked me for 300 million credits. They said that if I ever wanted to see my family again, to pay up by the end of the month."
"Where are you supposed to get 300 million credits?!" I exclaim, shocked that anyone would be so low as to extort money from a poor old woman. Grandma remained silent for a while, then she said something that shocked us all.
"I have it. My brother recently died, and he was the founder of the First Galactic Bank and Trust. He left me his entire fortune, which is about 300 million credits."

I look to the ground, thinking deeply. The motive reveiled... "Did you know him well? Your late brother?" Leaning closer I shake my head. "Better yet we shouldn't be asking... We've got the scent now all that's left is to follow the trail."
I look back to my mate, "Xanto... We've got to crack this and get our family back!"
