"I haven't been aloud to connect with you!" I growl back. "Only recently have I been given a waking moment to think about you!!! And I was a kid as well!!!"
I can feel my humanoid form ripple, threatening to burst but I shake my head, the roar out, "AND IF YOU MUST KNOW MY MOTHER WOULDN'T LET ME HELP YOU!!!" And with that I go out the door with a slam and snarl, body changing as soon as there is a door between us.

What did I just do? Somebody finally wants to help me, and what do I do? I push them away. I don't deserve somebody like him. I should have died when I jumped from that cliff. I didn't deserve to survive.

"Um... what are you going to do with it?" The nervous female AI manages to stutter and I growl. Oh like hell he is going to do anything with it. I change back and come back in.
Then retake Alex in my arms, where he belongs, "Don't even think feelings like those." My tone much more mellowed out than before. "I'm not losing you... Not now nor ever."
