Artemis had honestly forgotten all about the dinner, just too tired and all out of sorts. However, it served Gent right. Let the male go a little hungry. It's not like he was incapable of getting food anyways.
The next day, it wasn't Reggie who showed up because of the call, it was Jack. The other manager. Jack was known for his foul mood and horrible temper. Gent was a kitten compared to this guy and Artemis was already fearful of the big male. At the moment, Jack had cornered Artemis in the kitchen before breakfast and was shouting angrily at the teen.
"Get it right you little shit." Jack screamed, smacking Artemis. "His meals are to be delivered on time without any of your lip. Got it?" The male threatened. The teen just glared but said nothing, knowing Jack would probably beat the crap out of him in a fight.

Gent leaned against the outer wall listening to the other manager screen at the Fae. He had never dealt with this idiot before and he could see why now, the man was an ass. and for some reason the yelling at Artemis was pissing Gent off. And the fear that he knew the boy felt was so real... Stars, it was almost like Gent himself could feel it, which was preposterous!
He knew he had no right to be angry. he yelled at the boy all the time, but that knowledge didn't stop him from leaning in the room, his good side shone as he held his face sideways so as not to frighten Artemis anymore. "I said instruct the boy, not threaten him," he said softly, menacingly. "Do you understand the difference, man?"

Artemis didn't even look at Gent, simply staring at the floor as he clutched his cheek. "Whatever." Jack shrugged. "This one needs a little hands on learning. He won't give you anymore problems. Right?' This was snapped at Artemis who nodded rigidly. Seeming satisfied, Jack gave a mocking bow in Gent's general direction before striding from the room.
Once the odious male was gone, Artemis went back to preparing breakfast in stony silence, furious and upset at Gent. He hadn't know the man was snitch.

Gent's eyes narrowed in on the Fae's cheek and a fire roared within him. Before he knew it - or before he could stop himself anyway - he was following the Jack fellow and with a hefty shove, slammed him against the door. His roar reverberated from wall to wall as he gripped the man's throat.
"You seem to misunderstand the employer, employee relationship," he finally got out. "But let us go by your standards a moment. I am your employer." he backhanded the man harshly across the face. "You're my employee," again he slapped him. "Do you see anything wrong here?"

Artemis jumped in shock, dropping the plate in his hands at Gent's sudden roar. "What the hell you fucker?" Jack damned twisting in Gent's gripped. "You don't want to fight me." The male snarled as he was being choked. He wasn't even listening to Gent as he swung out a fist and nailed the male in the eye in the hopes of being let go.

Gent held fast, if anything he gripped the man tighter. Years of training had taught him to discount such miniscule pain and focus on the main goal- victory. Pulling the male away from the wall, he hurled the man across the room, ripping his shirt open violently as he began to shift.
Now in cat form, a amazingly large black panther with a large patch of fur missing along it's temple and muzzle, he roared to high heavens and gave the man a chance to morph.

Artemis gaped at what was going on in his kitchen. Jack seemed afraid now at the sight of the horrific panther. In a flash, he'd transformed as well, taking the form of a tiger that seemed small in comparison. The male fled out the door, unwilling to fight Gent cat to cat.
The teen just watched, not caring for Jack, only curious about how Gent had gotten that scar.

Gent would have gone after the coward but restrained himself. He knew that did he go and a fight commenced he would kill the man and he wanted no more blood on his hands. At least not that of an idiot man full of cowardice.
A sudden noise caught his attention and he turned towards the Fae, his teeth baring at the boy's red cheek. His feet seemed to move of their own accord as he moved over to run his fur along the boy's thighs before grunting and stalking from the room and up to his window.

Think that Gent was snarling at him now, Artemis squeaked nervously when the male brushed against his leg. Heart in his throat, the teen waited until he was sure both Jack and Gent were gone before fleeing outside, straight into a tree.
Artemis just sat there for a while, trying to calm himself and wondering what Gent was trying to get at.

Damned if Gent knew! Having transformed back into his human form, he quickly redressed and sat next to his window feeling like an idiot. Was he the monster people said he was? Was he so very far gone that he would go off the handle like that over his very own housekeeper?
Only Artemis didn't seem like a housekeeper to him. He seemed so much more... Gent wasn't sure what, just that his emotions went askew when the Fae was about and his body was alive again for the first time in years. He wanted the little fae, he wanted him in his bed and more... And he wasn't sure why that was or what that meant. All he knew is that the wanted Artemis.

Artemis knew that Gent was in turmoil, he just didn't know over what...or in this case who. When the teen saw the male at his window, he flew to the place once against. He stared at Gent, hands on his hips and head cocked in confusion as he frowned. He didn't understand the male at all. He also didn't understand the scar. Was that why Gent was so angry all the time? Artemis honestly didn't think that deformity was that hideous.

Gent sighed as the Fae flew near, not sure what he wanted and too drained from all his thinkings and wantings to deal with him. Eyes cast away from the fairy, he pulled the draped closed and sat in darkness.

Okay, that surprisingly hurt. When that drape closed, Artemis' big doe eyes filled with tears. Now, he wasn't a crier, but Gent's actions surprisingly cut deep. Feeling a good pout coming on, the fairy fled back to the garden and had a nice cry in the flower bed.

Gent felt as if his heart was breaking and try as he might to enjoy the darkness and go to sleep, he could not and before he knew it he found himself padding downstairs and to his garden. Spying the fairy crying ever so softly, he bowed his head and sighed. "Please don't cry, Artemis. I am sorry for your pain, I did not know the man would strike you," Stars he felt guilty, like he should have prevented the man's pain.

Artemis gasped at the sound of Gent's voice and quickly wiped at his tears. "I wasn't crying." The teen hissed, voice cracking. "And you don't know a lot of things." He added, hiding his face miserably. Gods he hated being hit. Stupid Jack. And stupid Gent as well.
