"Well, I'm finished with this mess. What am I supposed to do with it?" he asked grumpily, looking down at the mess.

Amer looked back at Fain. "You did make a mess, Mr. Grumpy, but I can fix it." He said, pulling the cutting board over and dicing the bigger hunks of vegetables and throwing them into the pan to sauté and then he sliced up a few bread rolls to toast.
"They eat this stuff on Earth, ya'know? Really great food they have there." he said conversationally, not bothered by Fain's gruffness.

"I've been to Earth. The women there are very... forward," he scrunched his nose up at the rememberence of the many ladies feeling on his chest.

"That's cause you're hot." Amer said off-handedly, like it was such a common fact.

"You should not tease your mate like that," Fain stated. "I have eyes, you know, and one who holds such beauty as yourself should have enough decency to not mock others."

Whoa, that was like a insult-compliment. Amer turned on his heel, looking at Fain. "I'm not 'mocking' you." he frowned. "I said you're hot and I mean it. Sorry I offended you because random Earth females thought so too." He said, turning back to the food.

"You make absolutely no sense to me, Amer." He frowned. "I don't understand you."

Amer grinned. "Good. Means I'm not loosing my touch," he winked. Though, on the inside he felt a bit...he didn't know, annoyed? Everyone said they didn't understand him and just wrote him off. He was weird and he knew it, but a person would get used to him if they just took the time to get to know him.

Fain could feel that deep insecure feeling and acted on pure instinct when he moved forward to wrap and arm around the male's waist, pulling him back into his chest. "I will never write you off," the words just came out naturally. "You are my mate. I was born to love you and I will in time, whether I understand you or not."

Amer gasped, blinking as he looked up into Fain's face. How had the male known everything he was thinking? Amer blushed a bit, but he enjoyed the feel of being in his mate's arms.

When his mate did not pull away, Fain leaned down further and rested his chin on the male’s shoulder to watch him cook. He felt comfortable this way and right. He remained that was until the man was nearly finished cooking and he even went so far as to pull out a few plates and the silverware to match. They were just about to eat when-
“Sir? It seems we have a possible intruder.” The AI, Gander, said quickly.
“Who could possibly be trying to intrude?” Fain asked, eyes narrowing.
The AI brought up a sheer digi-screen and showed the familiar culprit beating like mad on the door.

Amer blinked, confused as he turned off the stove and prepared their plates. Who the hell was that?

The image adjusted once more and a face came into view. The face of a very angry looking sibling.
"Eh," Fain grunted. "I think it's for you."

"Ah, shit!" Amer groaned. He was so going to kick Raegan's ass for this! Grey was currently pounding on the door to the ship, all angry, burly, six-foot-nine of him.
"Open up, you son of a bitch and release my brother!" he demanded in his forces baritone, pounding on the door.
"He might break your door in." Amer observed, before he heaved a sigh and went to face the music.

Fain followed, not liking the expression on the hostile man's face. He may be outdone by height - a rare occurance that - but he could hold his own and then some and he'd be damned if his mate suffered some one's rather. Brother or no.
"Rikit. Open the door and let the man in."
