Nikita squirmed. "I don't know." He whimpered before he just burst into tears of confusion. He didn't know having sex with a male meant that he was your mate! The vampire didn't quite understand any of this.

Nikita shook his head, cuddling close to Kira. "N-no, it's not that." The teen hiccuped. "I just...I don't know, never expected it." It seemed the tears were more of surprise than anything else.

The vampire's jitters soon were soothed and he sighed, nibbling lightly against Kira's neck to further comfort himself. "So we're really...mates?" He asked shyly after a few moments.

Nikita suckled the skin lightly, barely nicking the surface to lap at the few beads of blood that appeared. "Okay." He agreed softly. "What do I have to do?" Mates had to do stuff right? His mother had always spoken of a bearer's duties. What were his duties?
