Roses Amongst Thorns (Kouki/Gavin)

[Anelir]

Kouki watched as his siblings raced in the field, their shifted forms gleaming in blacks and browns. A sigh passed his lips. He wouldn't dare join them, not while the sun was out. He would stay under his tree, where the sun couldn't reach him. Where his silver coloring wouldn't stand out more than it already did.

The Zercan had already made up his mind and he brushed himself off as he stood. The silverette snuck off, not that is was difficult, and set his letter on the kitchen table. Taking one last glance at everything, he headed for the ship.
He had already packed during the night and he had fairly bought the ship with his own money, though it meant that it was a small ship. There was even a place waiting for him once he got to his destination.
Appearantly one of his distant relatives had gone to earth and left the rather large house in charge of who ever came to the planet first. He was going to be the lucky first of the blood line.

Taking a deep breath, he locked everything up and started up the ship, closing his eyes as it took off.
"I wonder if anyone would accept me there either." He spoke softly, ignoring the ship's AI.

Gavin sighed as he slipped from his boyfriends bed hoping he did not wake. They had gotten into an argument with his boyfriend, hated words flying and it hurt Gavin. He went out to the balcony and just watched the night sky. He knew all the mean words that Eric said were not true, but Eric meant them and believed him. Gavin knew he shouldn't still be with Eric after he hurt him so much. But Eric made Gavin believe that he still loved him, and Gavin was starting to believe all the hurtful things Eric told him.

[Anelir]

With a sigh, he gave a catlike stretch before turning his attention back to his ship.
"Had to land among trees. I hope I haven't landed on anyone's property." He had read everything he could about the planet so he wouldn't stick out too much, but he just didn't know what to do if a Human found his ship in their back yard.
He looked toward the general direction of his new home; the AI had said it was not to far from where they had landed.

Gavin sighed and snuck down the fire escape that was next to the balcony. He wanted to take a walk and if he went through the front door he would wake Eric. He headed to the forest trying to clear his head. His wind was whirring. He wanted to leave Eric, but was frightened he would escalate to violence if he did.

[Anelir]

Kouki began his walk toward the house when his sharp hearing picked up the sound of footsteps. Reflexes had him up the tree in seconds, hiding before he remembered the ship. He could have smacked his head against the trunk.
'Too late, they are already too close.' He thought.
He clung to the tree as he watched a figure below. 'No, go back.' he bit his lip.
'They get any closer and I'll have to reveal myself.'

Gavin didn't hear him in the tree but luckily he stopped before he got too far into the forest. He just wanted to see the moon as he sat in the forest. He sat with a huff just thinking of the argument of the hours before. He tried to reason with himself, he knew those words were yelled to hurt him, but why? Why would someone who loved you say those things? And why would you still love them?

[Anelir]

He watched the other, the moonlight lighting things up enough to see, though his sharp eye sight helped. 'Hmm, I wonder if he could help me find the house.' He thought distractedly. 'Pretty.' He snapped himself out of thought, silently climbing down the other side of the tree before walking over to the other.
"Um, do you think you could help me?" He asked. 'Way to sound intelligent Kouki. So much for fitting in.' He mentally smacked himself.

Gavin jumped, he hadn't expected anyone to be out this late. He stood quickly then looked to him wondering where he came from. "It depends what it is," he replied softly smiling weakly to him. "For I should be going back home soon."

[Anelir]

He gave the other a smile. "I kind of new here and kind of, well...lost." He gave a nervous chuckle. "Okay, I've no idea where I am in relation to where I need to be. I was given a house through the will of a relative and I'm not sure where it is. I know it is near here, just not how to get to it." Kouki sighed.

Gavin shyly smiled back then nodded to his words. "Well I know this neighborhood well," he admitted softly. "Do you have the address so I can either give you directions or lead you to it depending how far it is."

[Anelir]

He snapped out of his staring trance. 'Stop staring, he'll think you're creepy.' He mentally chided himself. "Huh? Oh, uh, here." He scrambled to dig in his pockets, producing a slip of paper with the house's address and other information, holding it out for the other.
"I'm Kouki, by the way." He said with a smile.

"Gavin," he told him softly then looked down to the paper. He smiled wide now, "You live next to me," he admitted happy. Though soon he bit his lip, Eric would never want him making new friends. He smiled then started to lead him, "Lets hurry I need to go back home soon."

[Anelir]

"R-really?" He asked, amazed. 'I actually have some luck? Thank you whatever god watches over this land.' He thought happily. "Maybe you can show me around the area a bit? I mean, I don't want to be a bother and you don't have to if you don't want to, but I could buy lunch or something in order to repay you." He gave a nervous smile. 'Please don't think me odd.'

Gavin looked to him, wishing he could. "I would like to," he admitted softly. "But my boyfriend gets really jealous if I am with other men..." He blushed a bit and looked away, "I can give you maps and stuff. And Janie from down the block likes to show the new people around you can ask her..."

[Anelir]

He frowned. "Why should your boyfriend keep you from seeing your friends?" He asked, not liking what the other had implied. 'Damnit though, he's already taken.' His inner cat pouted. "If you cannot see your friends, what do you do for fun?"
