Kade lifted a hand and mussed Lennox's head. "I know, luv. On my planet though, other givers try to take bearers away when they find their mates, it's just an instinct for me to want to watch out for you."

"Why? Why do they do that?" he asked. That sounded horrible.

[phantasmalunar]

"It's not really they're fault. A bearer just becomes more attractive when he finds his mate. I suppose it's there so that he'll mate ASAP."

Lennox tipped his head to the side. "You mean like they give off hormones or something? Can you smell me? What do I smell like?"

[phantasmalunar]

"Yes, the give off hormones. And you smell good to me, a bit like lemons, maybe lemon tea," Kade answered.

Lennox couldn't help it. He laughed. That had to be one of the most unromantic things he had ever heard - and he found it adorable. Pulling his mate down by his hand, he kissed him on the nose.

"What's that for?" Kade asked smiling. "I quite like lemon tea, it has a very homey flavor and smell to it."

"Because you are the sweetest, most handsome man I have ever met. And because your mine." He said and kissed the man again.

Kade pulled Lennox into his lap. "I am yours, for always."

Lennox leaned into his mate with a sigh. "Good."

"So, where do you want to go today?" Kade asked. "We have an appointment tonight, but we're free until then."

[ode]

"Appointment for what?" he automatically asked.

[phantasmalunar]

Kade smiled that dimple smile and tapped him lightly on the nose. "It's a surprise."

Lennox laughed, "Fine, it's a surprise. But in the mean time, I'd like to do whatever you want."

"Hmm, how about we go shopping. I still need stuff for the house," Kade offered.
