The sun was bright, and seagulls flew overhead, squaking as they scavenged for food. The blue waves crashed softly on the shores of Lanai, and the surf today was promising.
Akale walked slowly down the boardwalk, sidestepping humans who swarmed about the beautiful little island. He took in the sights and the sounds appreciatively as he wandered. He never did understand why his people thought that this gorgeous place was such a "Backwater planet", but he could beg to differ. The people here had a simplicity and primalness about them that Akale found refreshing almost. There was writer's inspiration almost anywhere you looked.
He hung a left and headed off of the boardwalk and onto the beach, the warm sand seeping through his shoes. There were people in the water, riding the waves, and Akale sat and watched, looking at the figures doing insane acrobatics on the roaring surface. No, not backwater at all. Amazing, really.
A particular figure caught his eye as he headed from the water. A boy, thin and lithe, with a beautiful face and a board under his arm--heading for the water. Akale tilted his head a bit and watched.

Makana smiled wide as he walked towards the water. It was a nice day, perfect for surfing, his favorite activity. He glanced around the beach curious as he walked around trying to see if there were any tourist worth his attention, any he could mess around with before they headed back home. He looked for males, it was no secret the playboy was gay, and though he bottomed most of the time he was truly a switch.
His eyes met Akale, whom he noticed was staring at him. He winked then smiled before running into the water teasingly. He would surf for a bit, meeting his eyes every so often before leaving the water to walk up to him. He liked messing with peoples minds, playing with them before he introduced himself. He liked a chase, though only with tourists. He was not looking for anything permanent so tourists were the best pick, they would leave soon.
He grinned happy as he swam in the ocean, belly to his board. Soon he turned and stood riding the wave with grace. He let out a whoop of happiness before looked for Akale hoping the beautiful male was still paying attention to him.

Akale had indeed seen the male smile at him, and rose an eyebrow before watching the boy ride the waves as well. He cocked his head curiously, watching as the ocean slapped the shore. The male was very fetching wet, and Akale's deep violet eyes tracked his movements in the water, his keen, slightly pointed ears catching the male's excited cry.

Makana was glad he wore his low riding white trunks instead of the wet suit because now he could wow the other with his abs. He liked that he was still watching so he swam back to shore and started to walk towards him. He smiled to him happy, "Hello I'm Makana," he told him softly.

Akale blinked, eyes raking over the human's form as he emerged from the water. He tilted his head as Makana approached him and he looked at the male, raising an eyebrow before standing and looking down at him. Was he supposed to converse with the male?
"Pleasure to meet you." he said with a small incline of his head. "I am Akale." His speach was accented strangely, but only added to his lure. He had a strange, deep, sensual lilt to his voice that was capable of sending shivers down little bearers' spines, when he dared to use it.

Makana looked him over curious at his voice, trying to place it. He sat slowly next to him, smiling. "Thats quite an accent you've got there. Are you from Europe?" he asked curious. He looked to his eyes wondering if he was wearing contacts, his eyes were purple.

"Not exactly." Akale said, looking out over the sea at the other surfers. "What is that called?" he asked, jerking his chin towards the water before fixing the human with his gaze.

"The ocean?" he asked confused, he could not believe he didn't know what it was. "Or the surf boards? Or the surfers?" He watched him curious trying to find out about him, he would be nice fling.

"Surfers?" Akale asked, looking at the male. "Can it be taught?" he asked the human, looking at the water. It seemed fun to try. They didn't have something like this on Zerca.

Makana smiled wide then nodded, "Yes surfing can be taught," he admitted happily. "I can teach you if you want."

Akale nodded. "What do I need to learn?" he asked the male, cocking his head.

Makana smiled, "How to balance first. But I think you need swimming trunks or a wet suit."

Akale nodded again, but then again--he wasn't sure where a swimming suit could be found. "Will you show me where to find them?" he asked, as he stood again, dusting off the sand.

Makana nodded and stood with him, happy to be able to stay with him longer. "This way," he told him then led him to one of the local shops. "What is your size?"

Akale shrugged. "No clue. We don't go in the water where I'm from." he said, before lapsing back into his ususal silence.
