Sing Me A Lullaby [Sonny/Darius]

[clementine]

Darius' eyes grew glassy as he fell silent, hiding his face. What was he to expect. Sex was never enough to fuel a relationship. He trembled atop Sonny, trying not to cry.

[phantasmalunar]

Because he loved Darius, Sonny said nothing. He though maybe silence would work best to give Darius space to think. Slowly, his eyes drifted shut.

[clementine]

Darius covered his mouth to stop the sobs from escaping. He wanted to hear Sonny's voice, that reassure, but when none came, Darius felt as if he had been abandoned and left adrift. His mind began to whisper cruel things to him that did nothing to stop his tears.

Seeing that Sonny was asleep, Darius slowly got up. He covered Sonny with a blanket, dressed, and left.

Sonny woke with a start a feeling of lost stinging his heart. He looked around quickly, black eyes growing wide. Where was Darius?

[clementine]

Darius was currently trying to drown himself in the ocean that bordered Sonny's spa. That was impossible of course as the Fae was also half fish. He'd left his clothes lying on the sandy beach as he swam around, enjoying the cold silence of the sea.

[phantasmalunar]

Sonny quickly rushed into the lobby of the spa and found his youngest brother. "Harmony, have you seen my mate?" His breaths were heavy and it was obvious that he was worried.

Harmony's eyes widened and he though for a minute. "Uh, your mate. I think he went that way," he said pointing to the beach quite proud of himself for remebering.

Darius had no idea that Sonny was so worried. Well, maybe he didn't by the sick twinge in his stomach, but he just put it off as not having had enough to eat.

The Fae broke the surface of the water after a wave crashed over him. He could see the shoreline but was about a half mile out.

[phantasmalunar]

Sonny thanked his brother and quickly ran to the shore line looking around. Had he done something to run off his mate. "Darius! Darius!"

[clementine]

Darius sighed in frustration when he saw Sonny. Why couldn't the male decide whether to pay attention to him or not? Wearily, the Fae swam to shore, walking until the water just barely hit him at his waist.

*What?* He asked, trying not to sound angry or hurt.

[phantasmalunar]

Sonny saw Darius and felt as if a hundred pounds had been lifted from his heart. He sighed and ran into the water wrapping his arms around his mate. "I love you," he whispered.

[clementine]

This only made Darius' weak facade crumble around him. He fell into Sonny's arms and began to cry as if his heart were breaking. Did he love Sonny? It felt like it, but so had all the other times.

*I don't know, I don't know.* Darius shook his head miserably. *Maybe...maybe I do to.* He wept.

[phantasmalunar]

Sonny hugged Darius tighter. Nuzzling his face into his mates hair. "I love you," he whispered again.

[clementine]

Darius choked back more tears, burying his face in the crook of Sonny's neck. The Fae clung to his mate, snuggling against him as he finally calmed after his tentative admittance and hearing Sonny's declaration again.

[phantasmalunar]

"Come,"Sonny said wiping away Darius' tears, "I believe I worried my brother searching for you and I'll feel better if I know where you are."

[clementine]

Darius nodded, kissing Sonny's cheek tenderly before moving from the warm ocean to the sandy beach. He bent elegantly and retrieved his clothing before turning and holding his hand out for Sonny so that they could go back together.
