"A drink would be nice, thank you," Aneirin said softly. He would rather not admit it but his head still throbbed like someone had used it as a gong. He figured that someone quite probably had, knowing his crew. He stepped inside, carefully taking in his surroundings. Now, he really didn't want to think it because pride was certainly not a pretty thing, but his first impression told him that he could make his mate a lot more comfortable in his own home. He quickly derailed that train of thought, visions of watching sunsets on his balcony with Landen in his arms were not productive. He needed his wits about him if he was going to convince his mate to come with him.
He needed to be realistic, however much he didn't want to. They had only just met and his knowledge of Earthlings was pathetic. Yes, there were some of them running around on Zerca, but none he was very familiar with. Still, he did know that they went about the entire relationship process quite differently if the stories were to be believed. They required time apparently, and that was something he was sorely lacking at the moment. Aneirin had to admit that if he had few problems with slinging Landen over his shoulder and carrying him to the ship to explain later. Leaving him was not an option.
If only he wasn't so woefully ignorant when it came to social interaction, that would surely have made things less difficult. There was little use in regrets, he would have to use what pathetic little skill he had and hope that the connection ran deeply both ways.
"Do you live here alone?" he asked, selfishly hoping that he wouldn't have anyone to compete with for Landen's attention. Ah, yes, there was Martin of course. What odd little creatures they were, these tiny cats. He felt a distant kinship, but it was more disturbing than comforting. Judging from the look the cat was giving him, the feeling was mutual.

Landen smiled and nodded. "Please, have a seat and I'll get some," he suggested, pointing to the couch he'd been sleeping on just moments before. He closed the door behind Aneirin before going the the small kitchen that took up a small, tiled corner of the "living room". He quickly retrieved two cups from a cupboard and set them on the counter below before getting the milk from the fridge.
When he had the drinks ready, he took them to where Aneirin was sitting, giving the man one before sitting beside him on the couch. "Alone? Oh no! I hate being by myself; I have a roommate. He's not here, though. He went on a date with his girlfriend," he explained needlessly. He doubted that Aneirin cared what his roommate was doing, but he felt the need to so anyway.

Aneirin stumbled a bit over that idea. 'G...girlfirend? Right. I'll be over there then." It was a bit disturbing to imagine. Ew, no thanks. He would take the long-legged brunette any day of the week. And damn him if he dint look as nice from the back as he did from the front.
Aneirin sank down on the sofa and let out a small squeak. The think was trying to eat him! He flailed about for a while until he realised it was no use fighting the contraption he was sinking in to and relaxed. Martin was staring up at him mockingly and he stuck his tongue out at the animal. "It's easy for you, he's been yours for far longer," he told him. "Of course you're comfortable. I'm jealous."

Landen tilted his head curiously at Aneirin. "Hm? You don't like cats?" he asked, catching the look the man was sending at Martin... and the one he was recieving from the feline, as well. He couldn't help but laugh at that. "It seems like Martin isn't very fond of you either, but he seems very against new people in my life... I think he gets jealous," he stated, adjusting himself on the couch until he was comfortably facing Aneirin. "I hope you like milk, I don't really have much else."

His eyelid twitched. He couldn't help it- a Zercan, not liking cats? It was beyond funny and bordering on silly. He shook his head.
"I love cats. You could say I feel a kinship with them. Martin and I just seem to have a few territorial issues," he said with a smirk. Then he remembered the question. "Milk is more than fine, Landen."
He had to actually struggle with himself to not inch closer to the boy and just wrap himself around him. Taking a few deep breaths, he composed himself and smiled, sparing a brief moment to wink at Martin. He was way out of his league if he really planned to tumble with Aneirin for Landen's attention. He sipped the milk and then he got an idea. Feeling quite silly but not able to ignore the voice of Niaer in his head, he closed his eyes and licked his lips.
"You should tell me about yourself, as we couldn't really talk before we were so rudely interrupted. Where is your family? What do you like?"

Landen mentally sighed in relief. He knew a few people that actually didn't like to drink milk at all. He was glad that Aneirin, at least, didn't seem to mind it; the brunette was in desperate need of some grocieries. He took a drink from his glass before setting it carefully on the coffee table in front of them. "My family? Oh... well, they live in the next town over," he answered, "I only live here because I'm going to school here." He smiled warmly, unable to stop a small chuckle. "I think... that I like too many things for me to be able to list them all. What kinds of things do you want to know?" he asked.
It did seem odd to him that he so readily gave the man so much information about himself, but, once again, he hardly felt that Aneirin was a stranger. He felt an attatchment to the other that felt as though he'd known him since he was a young child, even though he was certain that they'd never met before. Landen smiled widely at the dark-haired man beside him, waiting for the other's reply.

Aneirin knew that he would have to start making sense soon, if he wanted to have a hope in hell of getting his mate to come with him willingly. He was so incredibly tense that the smallest distraction would just about launch him two feet in the air, he just hoped he didn’t look it. It was infuriating, on the one hand he was more comfortable than he had ever been in his life with Landen so close to him, but on the other hand he felt like there was a noose around his neck. He tentatively reached out and took his mate’s hand.
“I want to know everything there is to know about you, Landen. You feel it, do you not? There will never be another.” He paused to take a breath. “Please do not be alarmed, I could never harm you. It must sound strange to you, to hear me say this when we have only just met, but you hold my heart in the palm of your hand. I willingly place it there.”
Aneirin was running out of time, he couldn’t prolong his stay and he didn’t want to have to knock the boy on his head so he could drag him away from everything he knew. He was simply not that selfish. He resigned himself to just blurting out what came to him and try to make sense of it in the few hours he had left on Earth. He let go of Landen’s hand and stood up. He nervously tugged at his hair and started pacing the room. “I have no experience in this, and I do not know the right words. You may think me insane, but I have never felt this before and I don not know how to explain it. I only know that I cannot live without you for a minute longer,” he rattled off and hoped for the best.

Landen blinked, staring at the other in surprise. They'd been having a comfortable conversation before, right? Then Aneirin had seemed so stiff and... seemed to be proclaiming his love to the brunette. Landen sat rigidly, taking in the other's words with confusion.
"A-... Aneirin? What are you talking about?" he asked, great confusion laced in his voice. He stood up and moved closer to the man. "You're... you're not really making any sense..."

Yeah, he had been afraid of that, his stream of consciousness was not safe to swim in, apparently. He groaned and buried his face in his hands, forcing himself to stop moving. He turned to face Landen and immediately stopped his nervous twitching. It would not do to seem intimidating in any way at all when facing your mate with some serious world-changing news. He calmed his breathing by remembering his crash-course in meditating and tried to gather his thoughts. He wasn’t even going to attempt to gather his actual wits, those were long gone.
“Where I come from, we are…raised,” yes, that was a good way of saying it, “to connect to one person and one person only. Some are lucky, and find that person early on. Others search their entire lives and end up empty handed. When you do find that person though, you know it, in here,” he said placing his palm on his chest. “It is a very special thing to find your mate, Landen. As I said, some never do.”
Aneirin buried his hands in his hair again and forced himself to keep his eyes on Landen. He had to somehow convey his feelings, his sincerity, without sounding like a lunatic. He was so doomed and he knew it. “I feel it, Landen. When I am near you, things are brighter, warmer and more comfortable. When I look at you, I have to bite my tongue to keep myself from touching you. When I listen to you, I feel light-headed.” He was momentarily distracted by something soft sliding past his leg. He looked at Martin, who was giving him the cat-equivalent of a raised eyebrow, and smiled. “Yes, I pity me too.”
Aneirin closed his eyes. “I am not playing with you, Landen, I could not. You are my mate and I can only hope you realise it too.”

Landen's face went from confused to shocked. He could tell that Aneirin was telling him the truth. The man looked so desperately hopeful for the brunette to not believe him. Landen could feel his heart swelling, begging him to take the other's words as truth. The younger man couldn't deny that he did feel more for Aneirin than he thought was normal, especially for a stranger. He couldn't think of any other reason that would explain how the two of them had acted, considering their previous, and first, meeting.
Landen inhaled shakily, letting his breath out slowly a moment later. "I... I..." How was he supposed to say... What was he supposed to say? How does one respond to something so profound? Landen bit his lip in thought and was silent. "You... you... Are....? uhm....," he mumbled. He took a few more tentative steps closer to the scarred man, giving the other a pleading look. "Will I.... be... be going with you to... wherever?" he asked finally. Aneirin said he liked to travel, right? He wasn't going to just leave the brunette here while he did... did he? That seemed kind of rediculous.

For a moment, he was stunned. Then, the meaning of the hesitantly uttered words sunk in and together with it a feeling of such euphoria that he almost felt like he would start floating. He grabbed Landen by his waist and lifted him high in the air, laughing and spinning. Aneirin hugged his mate to his chest and breathed in the smell of his hair, his skin and felt dizzy all over again. Yes, he was no longer afraid to think the word. That was his mate, that gorgeous creature with those expressive eyes and soft lips. His mate. “I could never leave you,” he whispered into Landen’s hair. “Where I go, you will go and if I have to move the world to make that possible, I will put all my will behind it and make it so.”
Aneirin gently set Landen down and tapped his nose playfully. “I could never love you more, but I just might, for your pure spirit alone. You don’t even know where it is I am going yet, but you would come with me? I will make sure you have everything you could ever want, Landen, you need but ask.”

Landen squeaked in surprise when he lifted into the air. That wasn't the responce he'd been expecting, though truthfully, he wasn't exactly sure what he'd been expecting the other to do at all. He was glad, though. It almost felt unnatural to be this happy... as if it wasn't just his own happiness that he was feeling. When Aneiring pulled him close for a hug, Landen leaned against the other and wrapped his arms around the man's back. The brunette looked up at Aneirin and smiled softly at the other's words, twitching his nose when the man tapped it.
"I can't think of anything else I'd want," he replied quietly, offering his mate a small, almost shy smile.

Aneirin felt empowered, he imagined he could probably lift an entire spaceship at that moment. He cupped Landen’s face and leaned in for a gentle kiss, not expecting the colours which started swirling behind his eyelids. He took his mate’s bottom lip between his teeth and tugged gently, not to hurt the boy but feeling exceedingly playful all of a sudden. He could almost giggle, he was that giddy. He inhaled deeply, memorising his mate’s scent at that moment, determined to keep the moment locked in his mind forever. How could he want to forget that moment of acceptance, the moment where he did not have to feel like he was presuming when he kissed his mate.
“Let’s go out and watch the stars, Landen. You will want to remember your home so you can think back of it fondly. You can share your favourite spots with me after all, and we can make it part of us to take along on our journey,” he said. He was partly honest, but if he had to admit his real reasons for wanting to take Landen they would prove to be rather selfish. It was a trick he had learned from his boss, and he didn’t mind using it at all. It would make things easier on his mate if he associated Aneirin with home. Oh, he would have eventually, Aneirin would have made sure of it, but the first weeks would be hard and he dearly wanted to make the transition less strange for Landen.

Landen gasped in surprise at the kiss he received, but mostly at the light-headed feeling that came with it. His vision swam before he let his eyelids fall shut as he returned the kiss wholely.
When Aneirin pulled back, the blonde was gasping for breath in a way that he found was not unpleasant. Taking in the other's words (which took a few moments to process in Landen's kiss-hazed mind), Landen nodded. "You... want to go up to the roof?" he asked. "I should get a blanket... It's kinda chilly," the younger mumbled.
Landen didn't know anything about where they would be going, or, really, anything much about Aneirin, but the man had said that they were soulmates, and there was nothing within him telling him otherwise. In fact, all evidence was showing the man's words to be true. Landen trusted that wherever they were going, Aneirin would take care of him and vice versa. He could hardly wait.
The blonde smiled warmly at the dark-haired man before going to his bedroom closet to get an extra blanket for them. "Would you like to take the stairs?" he asked as he came back into the room, blanket in hand, "Or the elevator?"
