The gentle touch and soft voice drew Kinome out of his daze. He turned pain filled silver eyes towards Adish before the meaning behind the soft words finally registered. The pain in the silver eyes died, hidden behind a wall of indifference. Kinome shook his head in denial. "No." He whispered hoarsly. "I deserved that and more." Kinome moved curling in on himself and burying his face in his knees, hiding the tears he could not seem to stop. Tears he knew he had no right to cry.

Adish frowned. "How can you believe that. She didn't die because of you. You... Even if you had tried to save her, I'm sure... I'm sure she would have died no matter what. If something is supposed to happen... It will happen. No matter what we do, no matter how hard we try, there's nothing we can do to prevent bad things from happening. No matter how careful I am sneakin' into the house, Momma always finds out and he always finds out what happened... sorta... and he always gets mad... and.... and he always makes me leave...."

Kinome shook his head. “You weren’t there.” He responded calmly, his voice rather dead. “You don’t even know what happened so you cannot say there was nothing I could have done…You are right in assuming one thing though… I did ‘nothing’… I just ‘watched’ it happen. She was protecting me. It’s because of me she died… They were after me. Now, if you wouldn’t mind, there is nothing more to say so…”
Kinome left the rest unsaid. For some reason he couldn’t vocally ask Adish to leave. Couldn’t because a part of him, the part he denied the existence of, wanted Adish to stay and hold him. Even though he knew he would lash out if Adish tried to get any closer that Kinome’s currently closed off curled up body allowed, he still desperately wanted to be held and comforted. He wanted the warmth.

Adish frowned. "That doesn't make sense! If she was protecting you, she didn't want you to save her, she wanted to save you! You're mother loved you! That's... that's..." He sighed and looked sadly at the ground, "Maybe you would have died... Then where would I be? You've been so nice to me, Kinome..." Adish didn't know what else to say; he wasn't even sure he was making sense. He lightly set a hand on Kinome's arm. "Please... just...." 'Just' what?..... stop pushing me away.

Kinome looked up at Adish, out of red-rimmed, dull, silver eyes, something in Adish’s tone forcing him to look, drawing him towards Adish. Why was he so drawn to this stranger? “You really think she loved me?” Kinome whispered. “You really think I’m nice? You think anyone will love me again, even though it’s my fault she died, even though it’s my fault my father has gone mad?”
Kinome never gave Adish a chance to respond, he suddenly uncurled himself, throwing himself at Adish with all the force he could manage. He practically burrowed into Adish’s chest, silent tears soaking through Adish’s shirt as Kinome’s figure began to tremble once more, Kinome no longer restraining himself and his emotions.

Adish smiled sadly. "Of course your mom loved you. And you're one of the nicest people I know. I'd love you," he said without thinking. He blanched when he realized what he'd said. "Eh! Uh.... I mean....." He mentally groaned. What if Kinome thought he was freak? You can't love someone after just knowing them for two days. You'd have to be mates. That thought made Adish grin. Kinome, his mate? He could imagine that; he was happy to. "Yeah... I'd love you."

Kinome continued to sob, not really paying attention to what Adish was saying. He hurt. He hurt all over and had no idea what to do. He honestly felt as if he were on the verge of shattering beyond repair. He clutched onto Adish as tightly as he could trying to get as close to the heat of being close to another.
It had been so long since he had touched another. He hadn’t even realized it but it had been so long since he had felt the warmth of another seeping though his skin. This thought only caused him to momentarily sob even harder, before exhaustion finally set in, calming the Kinome’s loss of control and drawing his exhausted mind towards even more exhausting dreams.

Adish hugged Kinome tightly and let the boy cry. He didn't know what else to do. He buried his face in the boy's soft, silver hair and smiled slightly. He felt a bit guilty because he happy. He was happy that Kinome was finally letting him in- that the Human was letting him hold him. He knew he shouldn't have been happy, but he couldn't help himself. Besides, Eade always said that the best way to deal with something was to let someone help you and to just cry a bit. Granted, Adish never followed that advice, but it seemed to be working well with Kinome... he hoped.
Once the silver-haired boy had cried himself to sleep, Adish carefully picked him up and carried him to the bed. He pulled back the covers and laid the boy down on the bed gently, pulling the blankets up over the sleeping boy. Adish sighed softly, exhausted with the day, and curled up on top of the blankets next to Kinome.

Kinome woke slowly. The faint throbbing of a headache a clear reminder of the chaos and tears of the previous evening. Groaning softly, Kinome shifted, knowing he would regret the movement but also knowing he had to get up. He did in fact regret the movement when the faint throbbing became not so faint but had no time to bemoan his fate once more as he suddenly realized his body had encountered warmth that was not supposed to be there.
Leaping into action, Kinome leapt out of bed, whirling around to stare wide-eyed at the figure that still remained on his bed. What was Adish still doing there? Better yet, what was Adish still doing in his ‘bed’? Kinome gaped for a few moments suddenly turning bright red in embarrassment as his mind finally made the connections of the position he had been in. He had just spent the night in bed with another male.
Groaning softly, he buried his red faced in his hands and turned away, blindly heading towards his closet. He was forced to drop his hands and open his eyes when he bumped into the closet. Face still flaming, Kinome reached in and randomly grabbed some clothes before turning, sliver hair trailing after, and running straight into the bathroom in which he proceeded to close himself, leaning against the door to calm himself with a few careful breaths.

Adish woke slowly, curled up on a comfy bed. He smiled dreamily and snuggled into the pillows. When he realized that he was above the blankets instead of beneath them, he slowly got up and looked around groggily. The dragonis blinked and yawned. Dang it. I thought I was home a second there... he thought sadly when he saw that he was laying on Kinome's bed. However, when he realized that Kinome was no longer in bed, he jumped up.
When Adish was positive Kinome wasn't anywhere in the room, he went out into the hallway. The boy wasn't anywhere that he could see, but he doubted that the Human had just up and left. Adish shrugged his shoulders then went to the kitchen, the only other room in the house that he was acquainted with, and started to make breakfast while he waited.

Once he managed to calm himself Kinome proceeded to shower and change, hastily braiding his hair. Once done he took a moment to settle his still warm forehead on the mirror cooling his skin. He felt a lot better than he had the past few days but still felt off, and the headache wasn’t helping much. Groaning softly he forced himself to move.
Opening the door he heaved a sigh of relief when he saw Adish was gone, totally ignoring the pain in his heart that told him he actually wanted Adish back. He wouldn’t have to face Adish after sleeping on the same bed with him and that was a relief.
Picking up his school bag, he sighed. He hadn’t gotten any homework done. Looked like he was going to have another black mark against his name and possibly another visit to the school councillor. He hung his head down and walked straight out the front door, closing it carefully behind himself, knowing his father was not going to appreciate a boxed lunch and breakfast after what had happened the previous evening.

Adish's ear twitched when her heard the front door close. He hoped it wasn't Kinome leaving... he'd just finished breakfast. He set the two plates of grits, eggs, and bacon on the table then went to see if he could find his silver-haired boy. He smiled lightly. His.
When he got to Kinome's room, he saw that it was still empty. He started going to other rooms of the house to see if he could find the boy. After searching, what seemed to him, like the whole house, he huffed. Kinome really had left?... Without eating breakfast? That wasn't healthy; no wonder he was sick.
Adish quickly pulled on his boots and started out the door, jogging in the direction he'd seen Kinome coming from the other day when they'd met. After going at an easy speed for awhile, he spotted a lone figure walking farther down the sidewalk. He sped up, hoping that it was Kinome, he hadn't seen him seen last night... and as pathetic as it sounds... he kinda missed the boy.

Kinome walked on hastily, looking down at the ground and subconsciously avoiding stepping on the cracks in the pavement. It had been a game he had played a long time ago. Don’t step on any cracks and something good will happen. Now, he only did it out of habit. He’d given up on good things. Now he focused on survival.
He felt his bag slipping off his shoulder pausing a moment to readjust it before continuing. Why was his mind continually drawn to thinking about the stranger that had barged into his life? Why was he disappointed that he had been left alone? Why did it matter? Kinome growled softly in frustration at these unanswered questions knowing thinking about them continually like this wasn’t going to answer them. However, this did not stop them from resurfacing in his thoughts nagging softly at his conscious and driving him slowly mad.

Adish finally got close enough to see that the figure was, actually, Kinome. He smiled widely. "Ah! I finally found you!" he exclaimed, coming up to stand beside the silver-haired boy. "Where are you going? Are you feeling better? Shouldn't you eat breakfast?... Oh yeah... Good morning, Kinome!" He laughed nervously.

Kinome whirled about in surprise at the unexpected voice beside’s him. Somewhere beneath the rapid beat of his hear calming down from the sudden fright he felt relief. He chose to ignore it, not really sure if he wanted to know why he was so relieved to see Adish… so relieved to find himself un-abandoned. He gave Adish a small smile, running the questions through his mind before answering carefully. “I’m going to school. I have extracurricular class today.” He chose to ignore the rest of the questions.
