Not able to comprehend the fact that Phoenix had reached for his cup, it was due to the fact that Akia was stunned at the words that came from the red head's mouth. Why would a mother even want to be cruel to her own son. It made no sense. Of course what did he know? Akia had grown up half his life without his parents and as an orphan only thought of himself as an unwanted child.
Once again, feeling Phoenix's hands beneath his own, brought Akia back to reality. He unconsciously raised a hand to his own face and quickly brushed away the forthcoming tears.
Without thinking then, Akia raised the bar flap off to the side and raced around to embrace the red headed boy. That was what the two needed; the comforting hug of friendship.

Pheonix was stunned at the friendly contact of the hug. He went rigid at first, his muscles tensed as unfarmiliar warmth wrapped around him. The fact that Akia was his friend washed over him and he buried his face in the other boys shoulders, hands clutching at his shoulders, tears squeezing past his eyelids.
The hard lump in his throat threatened to choke him and he squeezed Akia harder, taking as much comfort as he could. "Thanks so much for listening," he whispered, the taste of the tea lingering faintly in the back of his mouth.

Realizing what he was doing, Akia quickly pulled away, a little red tinge flushed his cheeks.
"I'm sorry, that was really impulsive of me." He threaded a pale hand through his equally pale snow white hair.
After a few minutes of composing himself, Akia turned back to look at the young red head and smiled kindly. He pointed to the cup on the bar.
"Go ahead and finish your drink." However, just before he left to go back to his position behind the bar, his cerulean gaze met golden eyes again. "Remember though if you ever need someone to talk to about anything, you know where to find me." Just as he left a ran a gentle hand through a few soft red locks. "Take care of yourself, Phoenix."

Pheonix kicked at a pebble which skittered along ahead of him. He hadn't wanted to leave the coffee house but he could see Akia needed to work, and already he felt better. He could still feel the fingers running through his hair and smiled. No matter what his mom did, she wouldn't be able to take away Akia's friendship. He'd get through anything, as long as he had Akia to talk to, to actually listen when something went completely downhill, or his world shifted ever so slightly. The hurried "Thank you," he had whispered before leaving hadn't been enough to express how much he valued the thin, golden thread of friendship in a world of confusing chaos.
Still tasting the tea in the back of his throat gave him some comfort and he stopped in the cool wind to stare at the park. It was lonely, deserted. Maybe he'd just stay here for awhile, waiting. It would be best to sneak into the house before dark. That way his mother would already be passed out, drunk. Sighing, he sat in a swing, fingers wrapping around the cold chain. What he would give to find another place, another world maybe. Somewhere they would accept him as he was, where someone would treasure him. He rocked back and forth gently, chastising himself for daring to dream.
There was nowhere different. Earth was the loneliest place for a boy like him, but he could dream, couldn't he? He turned his face to the ever darkening sky and closed his eyes, wishing on the first tiny pinprick of light that dotted the sky. ((Weee....hmm, didn't know what to type...oh well^.^ this works))

Cleon walked down the Earth (^_^) street excitedly. He could not believe he was on Earth! It was exciting. This was his first vacation on a different planet, and he was going to make it extra special. His parents had randomly decided to treat him to a trip, so he decided on Earth. When they questioned him on why, he said he wasn’t sure. It just seemed like the best place to go.
So he continued down the street, straightening his baggy white robes. Some of the humans kept giving him weird looks, it was a little unnerving. The teen shrugged it off with flip of his shiny blue hair. There was a park up ahead, he noticed, making him smile. He ran up to it, completely expecting to be alone. But no. There was a boy sitting on a swing with his eyes closed. He looked sort of… sad. ‘Hmm,’ he thought, an idea coming to mind.
The Dragonis’ walked over to the swing next to the human and plopped onto it. “Hi,” he said to the boy. “My name is Cleon. What’s yours? What’re you doing out here? Do you usually go off to parts in the middle of the night? Not that I’m one to talk, since I’m here too!” he giggled. “Do you want to go somewhere for a drink or something? I'm kind of new here, I don't know any one on this pl... part of town. Would you want to... um, oh! I've been rambling on and haven't even given you time to tell me your name!" he giggled.
(I hope you two like this! ^_^)

Pheonix's eyes snapped open and he took a bewildered glance at the other boy. His eyes widened a fraction at the sheer beauty of him and he shifted, slightly uncomfortable. After all, Akia had been the only one to ever just talk to him, who was this boy? The fashion of his clothes was intriguing and immediately Pheonix was curious.
"I..uh....name's Pheonix," he mumbled quietly, hugging his arms around him. How long had he been sitting out here? Only now the cold began to numb him, trailing icy fingers over his exposed arms. Next time he ran out to see Akia, he would be sure to bring his coat.
Goosbumps prickled painfully on his arms and he rubbed at them. "I didn't expect anyone to be out here either. You're new? I um....yeah a nice drink would be fine. Do you like coffee?" He lowered his face, a blush creeping over his cheeks. Not only had he talked more than usual, He had just accepted an invitation to spend more time with this stranger. What was this tingling in the pit of his stomach? ((^______^ Very much.))

"Pheonix... that's an interesting name," Cleon said softly. "But I like it, it's pretty. You look like you are freezing! Some nice warm coffee or tea would be wonderful. Especially since it will warm you up."
The Dragonis' studied this boy carefully. He was beautiful, that was clear. Long red hair and golden eyes.... But there was an overall sense of sadness surrounding him. Cleon wanted to make it disappear... and never come back. Pheonix deserved to be happy; everyone did. "Do you know of a place that serves coffee around here?"

"Yeah...." He glanced at his wrist, forgetting that he hadn't thought to grab his watch when he ran out. Oh well, his mom wasn't going to notice him missing any time too soon, and if he fell asleep in school it wouldn't be anything different. "Here...follow me. I'd like you to meet a friend of mine." He grinned a little about introducing the two people who had even thought to speak to him.
What a coincidence. If he wasn't so depressed about the thought of moving from the ocean, his only means of escape from reality, to a stuffy all boys' school, he could say this was the best day of his life. Sighing a little and shivering, he waited hesitantly for Cleon before leading the way to the coffehouse, pushing open the doors and stepping back into the fragrant warmth.

It was close to that time again, to get the shop ready for the night crowd rush. Akia wiped down the tables, waiting for Rebecca, the manager, to arrive and take over. Suddenly a light growling reached his ears. Akia nearly slapped himself, realizing he had forgotten to eat lunch or breakfast.
Just as the white haired young man sat comfortably in one of the lounge chairs with a turkey sandwich and cool drink, the familiar light chime of the door opening rung through his ears. Akia was about to tell the person they were closed for the now, but as soon he turned his head, blue caught a familiar flash of red.
"Phoenix? Is that you?"

If Cleon could, he would have offered to wrap his coat around Pheonix to keep him warm. But he didn't have a coat, and giving him his robe would be out of the question. He didn't exactly have much under it.... So he just followed the red head down the street until they came to a coffee house. It was warm inside, and smelled really really good.
"Pheonix? Is that you?" some one asked. The Dragonis' looked over to the sound of the voice and saw a boy with pale hair eating a sandwhich. Who was this guy? 'Maybe he's the friend Pheonix wanted you to meet?' he asked himself, he decided that must've been who it was.
((How are we going to do this? As in, who's posting when???))

(((Cleon, sweetie, this is eventually going to be just you and adorable Phoenix, however, I will jump in at random times, whenever I see fit for Akia to answer.)))

((Yes that sounds good Akia)) Pheonix jumped for a second before turning a small smile on Akia. "Yeah...it's me again. Sorry to bother you," he shyly averted his eyes and walked up to the counter, sitting down. "I know you're probably closed and everything but....well, this is Cleon," he turned to the blue haired boy. "Cleon, this is Akia. I just wanted the only two people to ever really talk to me to meet." He glanced hopefully between them, fingers tangling together in nervousness. He'd never done this before and it was a bit scary for his socially challenged self.

((Okay, I see ^_^))
Cleon smiled at Akia politely. "It's nice to meet you," he said. He was trying to figure out why only one other person would talk to Pheonix. The boy was really nice, and sweet, and cute.... The Dragonis' mentally shook his head. Now was not the time to go off like that.
"Are you still cold, Pheonix?" he asked, placing a hand gingerly on his arm. "Oh, you are still freezing!" he said, concern creeping into his voice. "I wish I had a jacket for you. We will just have to get you some tea or coffee, and it is pretty warm in here. Hopefully you'll warm up soon." He wished he had more Fire Breather in him, so he could start a fire to warm up his new friend.

'He is truly kind.' That is what Akia thought of this blue-haired young man. Not only that he was very handsome. Akia noticed that all this Cleon wanted to do was to help Phoenix in anyway he could. So, Akia decided to lend a helping hand.
Placing his own plate on the table beside him, Akia got up and walked toward the bar. As he passed the two, he gently touched Cleon's shoulder. "If you want to help so much, come on, I'll show you how to make coffee, and maybe one day you will be able to make Phoenix your special kind of warm drink." Akia couldn't help but smile at the other. He just knew this boy was going to be good for Phoenix.

Pheonix watched them go to make the coffee, rubbing the spot on his arm where Cleon had touched. It tingled faintly and he wondered at why his goosbumps seemed to instantly disappear. He heard the small comment Akia made and blushed. There was so many ways you could take that.
Picking at a hole in his stool he looked around. He was afraid people would say things, like they did in school. Even if it was true he was still afraid of being singled out. Fortunately no one else seemed to be in the cheerful little coffee house and he sighed in relief.
