(Hope it’s not too long- I kinda got carried away)
Annon sighed in frustration, entering his apartment. He had just been in a meeting with his father, where he had been lectured on what exactly was expected of him and how, once again, he had been a great disappointment to the family. His father had just been kind enough to inform him that he had been betrothed to a ‘nice British little girl’. He was to marry her, in order to ‘redeem’ himself.
The marriage was to be a political move of course, to more firmly establish the Neuman name into the environment of international politics. Apparently she was a nice quiet girl, taught all the decorum of the upper classes. She was 'a beauty' his father had said. Annon didn't care. He had no desire no marry, 'Pricilla', if he remembered correctly.
Desire... Now there was a term that did not enter his life. He was not allowed to 'desire' anything. His DUTY was to his family, to better furthering international relations, to being the perfect ambassador's son. Desire had no part to play in his life. Neither did imperfection for that matter. Annon slipped out the contact lenses with a sigh of relief. As much as they 'enhanced' his appearance, he did not like them. His father had thrown a rather large fit when he had found out that his son needed glasses. There was no room in his life for any form of imperfection and even though Annon had only been five at the time, his father had demanded he wear contact lenses in order to hide the blemish upon his son.
Slipping on his glasses, thin wire frames glistening in the fading sunlight, Annon gave a small smile. It was always the small things that gave the most joy. Here, in his own apartment, for he had moved out as soon as he was able to, he could relax, allowing a glimmer of his true self to show.
Running a finger along the arch shaped object situated just behind his right ear, Annon grimaced, imagining what would occur should his father find out. He absently wondered if Pricilla would mind. He intended to do what his father had commanded. It was after all, his 'duty'. He'd long ago accepted he had no say in his own life and simply lived day to day trying his hardest to hide anything that could be considered an imperfection from both his father and the public.
Running a hand through his hair, he roughly messed it up allowing longer strands to fall into his face. Heading towards his wardrobe he rummaged around in the deepest darkest corners to come out with an outfit that rarely saw the light of day. His father would be severely 'displeased' should he discover Anon owned such an outfit. Changing, Anon grinned in anticipation. He intended to get away from all of this. At least for a little while. He would go visit Satchi.
Done, he cocked his head to the side appraising himself critically in the mirror. He stood in loose low slung black pants, hanging over black boots. A soft white, long-sleeved shirt lay against his slim body, tiny embroidery of butterflies, climbing up the left sleeve from wrist to shoulder complimenting the tiny tattoo low on the right side of his back. The tiny intricately done tattoo of a butterfly, slivery colors glimmering and coming to life with movement and light that was finally allowed to see the light of day due to his low slung pants.
Deciding to leave his hair in its rough uncombed style, Annon re-adjusted the thin silver frames upon his nose. Picking up a long, black, hooded coat, he slipped into the night, hiding within the coat. He briskly set off to Satchi's place, for what he considered his last night of freedom. Tomorrow, he would be required to meet Pricilla and begin courting her.

Rana Mau was on the prowl. He loved prowling. He had since he was very, very little. And now, he had something to prowl after. Something that smelled very good. Something that, if Mau could make it happen, would belong to him soon. He purred smugly at the thought. Of course, he had no idea what the heady, exotic scent was going to turn out to be. It could just as well be some new type of perfume he'd have to steal. Yes, Mau's morals were not what they should be. He knew this.
He wasn't sure exactly why he was on earth. There was no real reason. It was, in his opinion, a stupid and backwards planet with no entertainment value apart from frightening stupid humans. Still, something had drawn him here tonight. Maybe it was the scent?
He stopped at the mouth of an alley, pering out onto the lighted street. There was someone there. Someone who smelled nice. He purred. Ooooh. Pretty. He could see that even despite the concealing cloak. Completely shameless, he sidled up to the boy in question. "Hello, gorgeous? May I escort you to your destination? It's dark and the streets aren't always safe for a purrrrrfect boy like you." He had a strange, purring accent, rolling his Rs hissing his Ss a bit.

Annon turned in sudden surprise, only to spot a tall slender stranger with the most disconcerting amber eyes beside him. That, just like his own brilliant blue eyes, was very much out of place here. That combined with the strangers accent, blatantly announced the fact that the man was a stranger to these parts. He briefly wondered at the strange accent.
As an ambassador’s son, he had encountered several individuals from various countries all over the world. However, he was completely unable to place this stranger’s accent, not having come across it before. Frowning in puzzlement, he bowed deeply acknowledging the man’s presence.
As was customary by the Japanese people, Annon instantly negated the compliment he had received, downplaying its significance, “I am not at all attractive but am honored you should think so,” before continuing. “You’re thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated, kind sir, but such will not be necessary. I am perfectly alright.”
Getting up from his deep bow, Annon readjusted his coat to better hide himself. He did not want anyone recognizing him and reporting his nightly ‘activities’ to his father. Not to even mention ‘Pricilla’. Should that happen, there would be hell to pay.

"Awww, but I was so looking forward to walking with you, mau." He made a purring sound. "You shouldn't wear that coat. It hides your beauty from the world, mau." He wrapped an arm around the boy's waist, holding him firmly. "I am going to have to insist, mau. You could get into trouble, wandering all alone at night, mau. I heard some thugs talking in the alley." He made a little hissing noise at the thought of the boy being inconvenianced. "I'm Rana, by the way. May I be so bold as to ask your name, mau?"

Annon narrowed his eyes at Rana, appraising him carefully. He wasn’t entirely comfortable with a perfect stranger off the street being so familiar with him and thoughts of kidnapping began to run through his mind. It wouldn’t be the first time in his life such had been attempted.
Deciding that it might be prudent to bide his time and get a better analysis of the current situation he found himself in, Annon simply tensed in Rana’s arms but did not pull away. That would come later if need be. Annon knew how to defend himself. It had been a necessity for him to learn, but first he needed to analyze what he was up against.
Years of training in diplomacy stood him in good steed as he politely replied. “Then I shall be much obliged by your kindness. I’m Shizukesa. Shizukesa Annon. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Rana.” Annon gave a small bow of his head, restrained from doing more by the arm around his waist. “I am headed that way.” Annon indicated the appropriate direction.

"Shizukesa... That is a very, very strange name, mau. It sounds more like a surname than a name-name." He led Annon in the right direction, purring a bit at him. "You know, mau, you're very, very pretty. Would you like to stay with me? Come home with me? Leave this place? I promise I'd be nice to you, mau."

Annon raised an eyebrow in surprise at Rana’s comment about his surname. “You know nothing of Japanese culture and yet you are here. Why, may I ask? Of course Shizukesa is my surname. It is not customary to call others you are not intimate with by their first names. It is considered rude and insulting.” Annon explained softly.
Annon paused, assimilating the rest of Rana’s comments. Rana seemed pretty forward for someone that might be attempting kidnapping. What kind of kidnapper asked their victim to go with them? Shaking himself out of his self inflicted reverie, Annon continued. “I appreciate your offer kind sir. However, I have obligations I am required to fulfill. I don’t think my fiancée would appreciate me going home with another person, let alone another male.”

"Financée?" Rana drooped at the word. "THis world is unfair, mau. I finally find my mate, mau and some other stupid, stupid girl has taken him, mau." He hissed. "Stupid girl..." He hissed again, cuddling Annon close. "I'm here because I was bored, mau. Nothing to do. And you smelled so good, mau. And I could feel you. And as soon as I saw you, mau, I knew you were mine"

Annon shifted uncomfortably, all thoughts of kidnapping flying out of his mind. He was beginning to wonder if Rana were insane or something, speaking of mates and feeling someone. If his ingrained manners had not been so strong, he would have given out a surprised exclamation, asking the stranger if he were insane.
What was even more disconcerting was the fact that something in the stranger’s words echoed within him, trying to convince him of the validity of this statement. Also, being cuddled was not ‘entirely’ unpleasant. Strange but not unpleasant, which surprised Annon.
Annon was not used to affection, formality ingrained into his demeanor by a father who insisted, propriety be kept. A sharp flash of pain ran through him, the gentle touch reminding him of a time his mother was alive. A time she had snuck hidden embraces upon her son. Then she had died and all affection with her.
“Unfortunately, we can’t always have what we want.” Annon whispered a touch bitterly, thoughts of his obligation running through him. He was after all only a tool to be used and had no right to even choose freely whom he wanted to be with.
Thus, he intended to end contact with this stranger before things got out of hand and he succumbed to the strange longing within his heart. A strange longing and promise of freedom. “I have to go.” Annon moved forward, expecting the stranger to release him and allow him to be on his way, accompanied or not accompanied.

"No," Rana told him stubbornly. "I am going with you, mau. I'm going to challenge that stupid girl, mau, to keep what's rightfully mine." His eyes narrowed. "I'm not letting you slip away, mau. Either you come with me now and be my mate, mau, or I will follow you and woo you and keep that girl away, mau." He reached over, stroking Annon's face. He pulled him close, stealing a short kiss. He purred, a true feline rumbling quite unlike the pale human imitation. "You can't leave me," he murmured, nuzzling him. "We belong together. Can't you feel it?"
He took a better look at the other's face. Perfect, he thought to himself. Absolutely gorgeous. He had a little exotic look about him, something Mau apreciated. The shock in his dark eyes amused the zercan to no end. He purred loudly. "So are you coming with me?"

Annon flushed at the heat running through him at Rana’s kiss. He gaped at Rana, mouth and blue eyes wide in shock at the audacity of the stranger. Such advances were ‘unheard of’ in Japan. He was highly uncomfortable with the stranger’s forward manner.
He felt an unusual pull that seemed to urge him to take Rana up on his offer. He practically ‘longed’ to take him up on his offer. However years of training and propriety refused him that option. He was Nervously running his fingers along the arch shaped object situated behind his ear. A habit he had to refrain form relying on, on a constant basis when with his father.
“It is not the girl that has my destiny in her hands. She is but a pawn in a game greater than either of us. Also, I do not recall granting you permission to own me, kind sir, and would appreciate if you would refrain from being so possessive of someone you don’t even know. “ A painful pang ran through him at that statement but Annon ignored it and foraged onwards. “My destiny has been decided before my birth and your interference will only cause me a great deal of difficulty.”

"Mau, mau, mau. You talk a lot, but you don'tmean any of it, mau. Yes, your destiny was decided long ago, and it decided that you are mine, mau. I don't care what you say about it, mau, I will follow you and woo you and make you understand, mau. You're my mate. Can't you feel that? You're mine" The last word was almost growled. "And no one's allowed to take you away from me."

Annon looked at Rana, the strange longing to be protected peaking with Rana’s possessive remark. His blue eyes clearly showed this. He stared at Rana in silence for a long moment before decisively nodding.
Turning away from Rana, Annon slipped out of his arms and continued his interrupted journey down the street. As much as he liked the stranger, for some unfathomable reason that is, he knew his father would not tolerate anything that remotely resembled rebellion against the engagement. His father was a powerful man. One did not willingly stoke his ire.
He intended to leave the stranger. It was better for both of them. Annon would be able to avoid the awakening of his own desire to be who he wanted to be and the stranger would not be targeted by his fathers ‘contacts’.
If the stranger decided to follow him, he would have to take ‘counter measures’. He was well trained in the martial arts for defensive purposes. He intended to knock Rana out and slip away should Rana be foolish enough to attempt such. “For your own safely, I suggest you go home and forget we ever met.” He called back softly, a tinge of sorrow laced in his voice.

"My own safety, mau?" the zercan asked contemptuously. "There is nothing on this puny little planet that could hurt me, mau." He took a few steps closer, purring, his entire body inviting the boy to step closer to be held and protected. "What are you afraid of, mau? You already know I am not going to leave you, mau. Ever." He observed the stance. Fighting? Anger flashed in his eyes. "You think that I would hurt you, mau?" he asked, incredulous. "Whyever for? You're so pretty and purrrrrrfect and cuddleable...."
