Oh, nothing could take the sparkle from his eyes today, no! Nothing! There was a bounce to his step and an aura of absolute bliss as he helped his parents set up the stall with samples of their finest clothing for all to see. They weren't actually selling the clothing, but showing it off, trying to bring new clients into the tiny shop run by the equally small family.
Pretty eyes, gold with the familiar Zercan cat slit and a slant to the outsides, fondly looked over to the transport bin of clothes as he set up another counter, laying out a dark green cloth over the wood so that nothing would dirty the things his bearer had so painstakingly sewn together. Funny how little stitches made up a whole.
Since today was so special, he'd pulled his hair back in the usual fashion, but exchanged the traditional green headband for a more ornate one with leaves painted on it in gold and paired it off with equally gold and green hair beads for the bangs he let fall forward over his shoulders. The colors accented his chestnut brown hair, especially the odd blond streaks that were both natural and not apparent on either of his parents.
"Xeik," His giver admonished as he spotted the slow way Xeik lifted each article of clothing and arranged it, "They won't break if you set them out faster."
Color bloomed in his cheeks, contrasting with the dark green dots on the right one, and he stuck his tongue out childishly at the older man, brows pulling down. "I just want everything to be perfect for the both of you." Truth was, his folks did this every two weeks or so. It was just the first time Xeik was helping set up and he was excited, not wanting to make one mistake.
A hand smoothed his hair, his giver teasingly calling him "brat" before he was left alone to continue setting out clothes. Xeik hummed to himself quietly as he kept busy, making sure everything looking perfect from the outside. Which required him to dart out from behind the counter to survey the stacks, hem and haw before making little tugs on the clothes, and then dart back to put out more clothes.
Lather, rinse, repeat!
