Terry peeked his green hair above the water in order to hear Demoiselle's words. Hearing about the Dragonis' mother, emerald eyes widened in surprise. "So...you don't have a mother either." His expressioned sadded, very uncommon for the spritely merboy. "Daddy won't talk about him anymore. I heard momma died giving birth to me." As Terry said his words, his mind drifted back to Parinenai, almost completely forgeting the wind Dragonis was standing in front of him, "but I also heard that...the reason for it was that...momma was nearly killed by Dragonis. I guess that's why dad hates all Dragonis', and I suppose he would even more mad at me to find I made a friend with one..." Unknownly, even to the Terry, tears had appeared, almost blurring emerald eyes and were rolling down his pale cheeks.

Demoiselle looked at the merboy with uneasy, he never was that great with emotions especially when it came to comforting people, but Demoiselle decided to try for the sake of the crying merboy. "I'm sorry about your loss. Dragonises never were known for their friendliness, but I don't see any I know killing for no reason. I wish both our fathers would understand there's bad in every speicies and place, that keeping us locked away will do nothing to protect," voiced Demoiselle absently pulling Terry towards his chest and wrapping his arms around him in an attempt at comfort, "I'm glad you consider me a friend though. I don't have many of those." Demoiselle looked at the sky noticing it was getting dark and gave a small smile and looked down at Terry. "Do you trust me enough to allow me to give you a ride," inquired Demoiselle suddenly anxious about the merboy's answer, "the sky looks nice tonight."

Terry didn't even flinch as he felt Demoiselle's hand on his skin, and allowed himself to be pulled toward the other's chest. The merboy quietly listened to the other's words, as he rested his green-haired head against the Dragonis's chest. It felt so warm and comfortable, and so right. Terry kicked his legs to move closer. If they had been sitting, Terry would've been sitting in Demoiselle's lap.
Terry almost fell sleep listening to the soft, sweet sound of the Demoiselle's voice. Emerald eyes fluttered a little and looked up at his new friend. "I'd love to." Terry answered with a smile.

Demoiselle smiled surprisingly pround of himself and let the merboy go. "When I transform get on my back,"instructed Demoiselle backing up a little I'll only be able to talk telepathically to you and that takes quite a bit of energy. And I apologize, but we'll have to stay low to the ground for a little while until I'm sure not guards are flying right now." Demoiselle took a deep breath and let his dragon form free. Demoiselle stared at Terry expectantly his white scales shimmering silver as he kneeled for Terry to hop on his back.

Terry shifted backwards a little and ducked under the water's surface. He didn't realize how big Dragonis' grew to when transformed to their animal form. A moment later, green eyes peeked from the surface and the boy rose from the water, looking up with amazement and surprise filling his gaze. The young merboy then shook his hair somewhat dry, though still a little damp that random strands matted to his pale skin. Then Terry grabbed his and Demoiselle's clothes from the shore, and jumped to secure a place safely on the Dragonis' back.
Terry couldn't help but rub his hands over the scales. Each one felt so smooth. "I'm ready!" He called to the Demoiselle, as the boy crawled up and rested himself against the head of the dragon.

Demoiselle had to admit he was a little nervous with Terry being on his back...he was very tiny and Demoiselle didn't want to hurt him, but he took a breath figuring the merboy wouldn't have agreed if he couldn't handle it so with a few quick beats of his wings they were slowly became airborne. 'I'm going to sped up. Hold on tight,' warned Demoiselle mentally warning Terry so he wouldn't be taken by surprise and then he took off barely slowly then he normally flew. Like Demoiselle true to his word though stayed close to the ground not wanting to draw zercan and especially dragonis attention just for a little fun. 'I hope you're having fun,'voiced Demoiselle before waiting for Terry to either object or say there was something missing that would make the experience actually fun. That's pessimist, thought Demoiselle to himself, but was anxious for Terry's response all the same.

Terry wrapped his arms tightly, at first, as best he could around the Dragonis' neck. He had to admit he was a little nervous. He had never flown before except for being in a shuttle. As the boy felt his body relax, emerald eyes opened and though all he saw was the rest of world zooming past him like a blur, it was so much fun!
Terry lifted his head a little feeling the fast rushing wind breeze through his damp green hair, quickly drying each strand. Meanwhile Terry looked down to see the world rushing past him. He even wished his papa could be here. The boy let out a couple coughs and realized the wind was making him dehydrated faster than usual. But that didn't stop Terrence from enjoying himself. He just took a gulp of water from his gourd and that was that.
His mind was so lost in his thoughts about home, he almost forgot about Demoiselle's answer. "I'm having a great time, all thanks to you!" Terry shouted, not really caring who heard if anyone. The boy wrapped his arms again around the dragon's neck, not necessarily to hold on, but giving Demoiselle a hug. "Thank you, my friend." Terry whispered with another bright smile. Soon Terry rested his head against the smooth scales, and soon enough he had drifted off into a beautiful dreamful slumber, mostly about a handsome Dragonis'.

Demoiselle smiled at Terry's reply happy that he could bring someone joy and after a few minutes later he felt Terry's grip loosen. Demoiselle looked back and noticed Terry was sleeping peacefully on his back. Demoiselle couldn't help but smile and began to look for a new source of water they could land by. Demoiselle new the merboy would need water just like he did the sky so spotting a lake he slowly began to land. Carefully not to shake the sleeping merboy Demoiselle lightly land on the ground and instantly layed down. He gently picked up Terry with his tail careful not to wake him and layed him down by Demoiselle's side and put his tail protectively around Terry he to fell into sleep thinking about the merboy who'd so easily became his friend.

/Terry was having so much fun. He could see all of Parinenai as he rode a top Demoiselle's back. The cool breeze whipping across his face and through his long emerald locks. He then leaned forward and whispered something into the dragonis' ear. Demoiselle smiled and nose-dived forward and splashed into the water of the giant lake that surrounded Terry's castle-like home. In and out of the water the two flew. Terry didn't want a moment like this to end.
Suddenly, out of no where, fire shot out of no where straight the pair. Striking Demoiselle in the under belly, and knocking Terry off. The boy fell, and unfortunately, he landed hard on solid land, he couldn't move. His ankle hurt so bad. Green eyes searched all around but it seemed as if Demoiselle had vanished into thin air.
Tears started to well up in gemed eyes, but before he could call out for help, fire blasts from several fire-based dragonis' surrounded him, and soon he was overwhelmed with their flames. The heat was making it hard for the boy to breathe, tears fell as Terry curled himself into ball hoping they would go away, and wished his dad was there by his side. He wanted go home!/
Meanwhile, Terry's body trembled and curled up even tighter as he slept. His cries from his dream came out in small whimpers, and he gripped on to the closest thing near to him like a stuffed animal or security blanket; and that was the end of Demoiselle's tail.
(((HAPPY 2007, I wish you a great year!)))

Demoiselle woke to the sound of sniffles and crys and looking around he saw that Terry looked like he was having a nightmare. And he has a good grip on my tail too, thought Demoiselle feeling Terry squeezing his tail with a surprising amount of strength. I'd better wake him up, he looks terrified. Demoiselle nudged Terry trying to wake him up and murmured softly to the merboy in hopes that he would at least calm down. Demoiselle wasn't good at comforting but he'd attempt it for Terry's sake. "Don't be scared Terry," soothed Demoiselle waiting for the merboy to wake up, "I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." [glow=red,2,300]Happy New Year to you too![/glow] ;D

The flames had almost consumed him, when thankfully he was suddenly being shaken. Emerald eyes were shocked wide, however, his vision blurred behind his tears. Terry sat up very quickly, coming to rest on his knees. His hand came up and wiped away the tears to clear his vision. It was then he realized he held a Dragonis' tail in his arms. Remembering his dream, he quickly dropped the tail and scooted further away. He fell back a little ways.
Terry looked up and trembled as his eyes fell upon the Demoiselle. "Please, stay away." the merboy whimpered softly. Still a little disoriented after just waking up, Terry looked around at his surrounded, not comprehending at first where he was. The boy back up toward the river thinking he could make a quick getaway before anymore Dragonis' showed up.

Demoiselle looked at Terry in shock and was a little hurt by the merboy's reaction to him. He looked absolutely terrified. What could have made Terry so scared? "It's me, Demoiselle," soothed Demoiselle staying where he was, knowing better than to move towards the merboy, "you were just having a nightmare. You're fine now. I'm not going to let anything hurt you." Demoiselle suddenly brightened changing back into his human form and hoping that would ease Terry's fears. "I'm not going to hurt you," murmured Demoiselle feeling lost and not knowing what else he could do to calm the boy down. Maybe having a friend wasn't such a good idea... if it hurts so much for them to look at like you're a monster, thought Demoiselle, but I am a dragon. Maybe that's what I truelly am...after all my people did kill Terry's mother.

Terry sniffed back a few tears and his hands trembled. However, just as green eyes blinked back more tears, he looked up and instead of seeing the huge dragon. Demoiselle was standing in front of him.
Terry was still a little disoriented from being suddenly jerked awake, "D-Demoiselle..." Terry choked out, as his mind slowly came back to his senses. The boy smiled. His best friend was standing where the dragon was. He must have scared away the other dragons. After all Demoiselle was a dragonis himself. His arm came up and wiped away the remaining tears. When his arm came down, he shakely stood and rushed forward, and wrapped his arms around Demoiselle's tall form, burying himself against the other's skin. "Demoiselle! I'm so glad you here!" This time his tears weren't ones of fear. He was happy to have his best friend nearby. He never wanted to leave Demoiselle's side again. Terry smiled.

Demoiselle gave a small happy smile as Terry wrapped his arms around him, it felt nice to have Terry's arms wrapped around him. Demoiselle cautiously followed Terry's example wrapping his arms around the merboy loosely being careful not to scare him. "You had a nightmare," stated Demoiselle looking down at Terry, "you told me to stay away. What made you so scared?" Demoiselle stared down at the merboy expectantly hoping there'd be a way to prevent that from ever happening again. Demoiselle really didn't like it when Terry was scared. This is nice, thought Demoiselle looking down at his friend, with Terry in my arms everything seemed alright. I wonder what father would say if I ever came home with Terry. Well...that isn't important now we're in Zerca with no sight of any other dragonis...yet anyway.

Terry pulled way and looked up in shock. "I said that?!!?" Then he threw himself back into Demoiselle's embrace. "I'm so sorry! I'll never say it again. I don't want to ever leave your side!" Green eyes overflowed, he didn't know what he would do if he and Demoiselle ever had to part ways. No! Terry would never let that happen, not in a million years.
As Terry continued to drown within Demoiselle's intoxicating embrace, the merboy's thought brought alive that dream, and without realizing it, the boy was whispering it aloud. "We, you and I were flying over Parinenai, suddenly I fell, but...you weren't there to catch me...then fire dragonis' attacked me..." Terry ended sobbing at the memory, into Demoiselle's chest.
