Jaryn's hand is nuzzled into a moment before the Lion nods, actually nods, in acknowledgement. And then bumps against the human, as if telling him to more first. But, of course, there is that one other brave soul that manages to get behind the Lion, not close enough to be clawed by it, but maybe within the range to be turned on and lunged at. This man was a member of animal control and his voice is soothingly calm as he speaks.
"Son, just step away from the Lion. They're wild creatures, unlike you and me..." His voice carries and the Lion's ear twitches. "I'm gonna distract it, then you slowly back out, alright? We've got this place under a pretty tight lock down. So, get off the side walk and past one of the cars, an officer will assist you from there. Got that?"

Suddenly, something snapped nside hm.
"Sorry," he said, "I can't let you do that. Me and him? We're gong together."
Then he vaulted onto the lion's back.
"Xan...! Go...!"

The Lion is surprised, stumbles, then leaps into action. Trips over his paws at firs before racing forward. A human, armed and about five foot eleven. She has her gun, loaded with tranquilizers, aimed at the two approaching fast. She's shaking, but determined. And is about to pull the trigger...
Excuse me~! When a larger, white Lion barrels into her side. COME ON XANDYR! Xan, the first Lion, races through the opening and speeds down the road. The other Lion just purrs at the girl before leaping off and following after the receding two.

"Did it just.... talk too....?!"
Jaryn shook his head. "Whatever, it saved us - thanks!" he called out, then leaned over Xan's neck. "Come on, follow my directions, I'll lead you back to my apartment! You can crash there until you go back to normal."

Xandyr follows the directions, slowing only once they get into a small community. Behind them the white Lion follows.

".....why is it following us...?" Jaryn asked quietly, as he leaped off of Xan's back and unlocked his apartment door, ushering the lion into the large, mostly-empty room before closing the door and locking it again.
Going over to the window, he peeked out, then looked back at Xan.
"....he's stll out there......."

Xan sits and gives as much of a shrug a Lion can give.
Meanwhile the Lion outside stretches, yawns, and pads up to the door. Before changing into a human and knocking on the door, "Hey, lovebirds, let me in. I did save ya after all!"

I blinked, then walked over to the window, looking out... then closed the blinds again.
"....it's the crazy guy from the other day."
I frowned. "Should I let him in...? The lion's go....."
Pause.
"Oh, HELL no."

Xandyr rolls his eyes.
Might as well... He's obviously NOT gonna eat us or anything... I think.

I sighed, walked over, and unlocked the door.
"So, you're Xan's long-lost alien brother and you can turn into a lion. Is there anything else I need to know?"
My voice dripped heavy sarcasm and I guess that was just a reaction to all of the weird entering my life lately. I realized, suddenly, that my apartment was a mess of unwashed ramen bowls, half-painted wooden objects, and open notebooks scattered around.
I sighed.
"Sorry, I almost got shot at with tranquilizers today and so did Xan, and for some reason I"m really on edge and irritable lately. This place is a disaster area and Xan's taking up most of the room, but feel free to come in anyway. Usually, I'm not this crabby wth people."
I opened the door and stepped aside to let the stranger in to my apartment.
To be fair, I didn't really feel very threatened right now - if he was a creeper, Xan could just eat him, after all.

Xandyr lays down and then sighs. Zeke meanwhile laughs as he walks in, "Its cool. I've seen many a giver ac much worse when their bearers are in trouble. So, no hard feelings. Although, I really do need to explain things now, don't I? Shame. I was hoping our second meeting would be a little more stress free, ya know."

"Giver? Bearer? What are you talking about?"
I looked back over to Xan, sighed, then back to Zeke.
"So.... I guess you might not be entirely crazy. Considering that you at least seem to know what all... this-" and I waved at Xan "-is about.... yeah. Some answers would be great."

Xandyr nods, wanting to know as well. Zeke meanwhile sighs, this is gonna be a long explanation...
"Alright, lets start from the top. You see, me and Xan? We aren't human. We're Zercans. Which means born as giant cats, in our case, as Lions. After a few days to a few months we morph into our humanoid forms. Now onto Galaxy basics. Me and Xandyr... We're what people call bearers, we bear the children. And since you two are mates, only mates hold hands after all, you are his giver. Its only with you that he can have kids." Zeke laughs a little at the horrified expression on Xandyr's face. "Don't worry, kit-kid. Only after he marks you, basically biting you and taking a little of your blood, or so I've been told by a doctor or two, only then he can get you pregnant..."
Xandyr shifts, looking kind of embarrassed. Zeke just gives him a smile before looking to Jaryn, "Although, after you mark Xan. I warn you. Givers have a tendency to go a little wild, a marked bearer is like open season to them due to the fact they're fertile for reproduction... Or... I assume that's the case, because they do go crazy... I've seen it..." Zeke sighs and shakes his head with his eyes closed. Sometimes he can't believe givers. "Ah... Also, once Xandyr is pregnant its best you toe return to Zerca... You see he can't give a safe birth here. Where as on Zerca we have Medi-Boxes which are designed for this sort of thing. So, uh... Yeah... Any other questions?" Both brothers look to Jaryn.

I paused.
"What are you smoking, because, I really, really could use some right now." I paused again. "I mean, come on, guys can't get pregnant... that's what females exist for. And, anyway, why would a race evolve in such a way that they need mechanical assistance to bear children? How would a race like that have propagated before they created the technology to safely extract the children? I admit, you seem to know about the whole turning-into-a-lion thing.... but the rest of what you're saying, it's... it's crazy..."
My hands were shaking. This was all crazy.... crazy in ways I couldn't begin to describe, but.... a galaxy full of people... people like that.....
And I couldn't deny the instant draw I'd felt towards Xandyr. Was I just in denial? Maybe. But it didn't make any sense, even if it was probably the most awesomely exciting and interesting thing that had ever happened to me.

Zeke sighs.
"Yeah. That's what all humans say... Oh boy,.." He shakes his head as he looks to Xandyr. "Look... I can help you through the whole changing between humaniod and beast form as well as vice versa. And... I promise... As long as you two don't mark each other sex is perfectly okay."
The lion jerks back, shocked.
"What... have you two not... y'know, yet...?"
Xandyr growls out something, in animal.
Zeke pauses before flushing and looking to the side.
"Uh... yeah..." He then clears his throat. "Right... You two are, uh... wait... friends? But you two were holding hands!?"
Xandyr rolls his eyes and looks Jaryn for this one, deciding teamwork is better than soloing this one.
