"I'm sorry if I seemed harsh to you just now... It's better to get this out of the way so any problems that could possibly come up later don't." Ciel explained, flushing slightly. "I've never dated anyone before, and the only bearers in my family are my mother and baby Jacob, so I really don't know how to act..."
"You don't act any special way. You just be yourself and let Fate handle the rest." A gruff voice sounded from behind the blond, causing the bearer to jump with a squeak as the speaker came into view.
"Dad! H-how long have you b-been standing there?!" Ciel scolded his father, face flushing red, again.
"Long enough to hear you scold your mate." The man grinned. Sam Renault was a tall male, with short, military-style brown hair and a 5 o'clock shadow. His muscled frame would intimidate most boxer, thanks to his time as a soldier in Fleet when he was younger. "So,are you going to just stand there, or introduce me to your newly-discovered mate?"
"Oh, s-sorry. Dad, this is Kantin. He's from Zerca... Kantin, this is my dad, Sam Renault..."

Kantin looked up surprised when he heard another voice. His gaze had been cast down so he hadn't noticed anyone before. His eyes widened whe he heard who this person was. It was his mates father. He had to make a good impression, he probably thought badly of him already. Since coming in here he hadn't done one thing that would be considered impressive or. Standing quickly at the mention of introductions, this time careful of the chair that almost went over again, he looked at the larger male nervously. The guy looked tough. He definitely seemed like someone who was a solider or some kind of fighter. He had seen many in the main Zerca capitol when he went to help his brother with the trades at the market place or to sell their own produce.
"Its Kantin Livalsk, sir...Mr. Renalt." He still wasn't sure if he was a solider yet but respect for his elders came natural either way. Now he wasn't sure what else he should say. He wanted to promise that he could take care of his son and treat him right but after what Ciel told him he didn't want to seem like he was trying to be bossy or in charge, he honestly just wanted to keep him safe but he didn't need any more misunderstandings so it was best to keep quiet.

Sam looked the male over, scrutinizing the other with a piercing gaze. A few moments later, the male grinned and clasps Kantin's shoulder. "You look like a good kid, Kantin. And please, call me Sam. Mr. Renault makes me sound old!" The father laughed heartily. "No need to look like someone just fed you boiled liver, son! I don't bite. Now, I'll go get the chowder, and we can go somewhere a bit more... private to talk."
Ciel let out a relieved sigh, glad his father liked Kantin. As soon as the older male had left, the blonde sat his mate down in the chair, before sitting in his lap and snuggling close to his chest. His blond head rested over Kantin's heart, his innocent, lapis lazuli hues looking up at the other's. "You're warm."

Nervous, Kantin was beyond nervous being stared at and studied so hard. He grimaced a bit before finding himself surprised by the positive reaction he got from the Sensaforian's dad. Was he a Sensaforian too? He could only assume. "Alright, Sam." He smiled feeling slightly less nervous. "And alright." He was nervous again about the private talk they would have later. He completely forgot about his food again in the heat of the moment so he briefly blanked out there.
Left clueless for a moment he was surprised when Ciel came over to him. He thought he might have had an aversion to him but instead he found himself sitting and the male on his lap. "Um..." He was hesitant to wrap his arms around him because of the somewhat negative reaction he head earlier. He lifted his hands as if intending to but they paused in the air in that position before suddenly falling to his side while he sighed.
"I'm alive, of course I'm warmer." He managed a light chuckle and a very faint smile regardless of the awkwardness he felt. "Is this alright?" He suddenly frowned a bit not sure what to do next. Obviously he went about this the wrong way and he had no idea how to recover.

"Yeah. It's fine... Just trying to apologize for snapping at you earlier. I was just surprised, and confused. I mean, one second, I'm taking your order, the next, we're in full on lip lock... I want to get to know you. Besides, I was cold. Guess it's the merman blood in me..." Ciel smiled, pulling Kantin's arms around him. "I'm trying to make up for yelling at you. That's all..."

"Part merman..." The Zercan wasn't sure what to think of that, cause he didn't think anything of it. Kantin smiled and hugged the smaller male gently when he said he could. He was a bit mixed on the fact he was trying to make it up to him. He felt it was nice of him to do that but when he emphasized it he wasn't sure if he was just doing it for his sake or if he wanted to. It was nice if he was doing it for his sake but he really didn't want him to do anything he didn't want to, that wouldn't make him feel any better at all.
"Alright." He'd accept anything he'd give him and if that was it then so be it. "You don't have to if you don't want to." That he wanted him to know. "And I'm sorry for coming on too much...I guess, I was excited and... Well, I left my home recently in search of my mate and to see I found him on the first place I went to..." It was truly fate and it seemed to favor them.

"Don't apologize... I'm not mad at you. Just, let it go, so we can look to the future. After all, if we're going to be a couple, I think it's best that we not let the little things we cannot change hold us back." Ciel smiled, leaning up and gently pecking Kantin's lips. "Better now?"

He was messing up again. Kantin frowned just a bit but gave a nod. He didn't mean to hang on the past he just wanted to be sure he wasn't on his bad side. The kiss certainly made him forget things. "Oh, yeah better." He smiled widely deciding to put it all behind him. Instead he started to nuzzle his face against his mates cheek and neck, taking in his scent with a pleasant sigh.

Ciel sighed, glad that they understood each other. Flushing at Kantin's cuddling, Ciel mewled a little bit, practically melting into the touches.
"Well, seems you two are getting along." Sam grinned as he stepped out of the kitchen.
"Yeah... Kan's keeping me warm."

Kantin was a step away from purring when he heard a voice interrupt the moment. He didn't feel compelled to stop but he decided to give pause to see who exactly spoke. He did look slightly flustered when he saw it was Ciel's dad.
"Ah, yes Mr- Uh...I mean Sam." He smiled at the male in the back but didn't move from his position. "I'm quite content like this." But they had to get up at some point. Hopefully after he was done eating and paid for everything. He nearly forgot he had his drink here waiting but he wasn't too anxious to move and do anything right now.

Snuggling closer to the Zercan, Ciel blinked up at his father. "Do we have to go? I don't wanna move." The bearer whined, burying his face in Kantin's chest.
"Kantin, why don't you just carry him. I've got your soup in a carryout bowl, so we'll head home and talk there..."

Carry him? Kantin couldn't help smiling at the part merman in his arms. So he didn't want to move. It was nice to know he felt so attached to him, "Alright, just lead the way." Without warning he scooped his mate into his arms and waited for Sam to lead the way. He wondered where they lived and how far they were from his home. He supposed they'd figure out soon enough.

(Sorry SO much about vanishing! DX I've been going crazy with school these past few weeks, what with the end of the year coming up so soon, But, after the 31st and the Film Festival, I'll have a TON more time!)
Ciel simply snuggled into Kantin's chest, yawning like a kitten, despite the fact that he was half fish. The bearer couldn't deny the depth of feelings he had for the other, most of which he did not even understand. But, to be fully honest with himself, he really didn't give a rat's ass about understanding. In mating, logic was the last thing from most person's minds.
"So, Kantin, tell me about yourself. Where you from, what ya do, the whole nine yards." Sam asked as they walked down the street toward the Renault house. It wasn't far from the cafe, sitting at the end of a long, winding road up a gently sloping hill, The house, like the Renault clan itself, had been in Trinity since time immemorial. Built in a Victorian style, the near mansion was a pale, almost white shade of blue. The shingles were a more of a greyish, sage green, and the wood trim was stark white. The main core of the mansion was about three stories tall, while the tower on the front-left was a story taller. There was a beautiful garden bursting with all colors of wildflowers and bushes forming a ring encircling the wrap-around porch.
(Just a side note: I would pay big money to live in Ciel's house! I just love, love, LOVE old Victorian mansions!)

[[No worries, I figured you were busy with life, at least you came back.]]
Kantin made sure he had everything in hand or over his shoulder before leaving. He wasn't sure where he was going so he had to follow the directions given to him. His stomach kind of growled a bit in protest, he didn't get to eat, but being with his mate here was more important then food. He heard his questions and couldn't help smiling with a faint chuckle. So now he was curious about him. Well, the same could be said about him. "Where do I start?" He thought they should wait to get to wherever they were before settling to any deep conversations.
"I'm from Zerca...where all Zercans are from or the majority as far as I know." He He wasn't talking about others though just himself. "I was born and raised on a farm, a long ways from the capitol of Zerca, where my family grows things and raises animals. I'm afraid my life isn't very exciting but its really nice. "At least he thought it was.
"Tell me about yourself."

(Yup. It can be frustrating at times, but when it does I always tell myself that I'm lucky to live in a place where I can even go to school, or have a computer.)
Kantin's life sounded far from boring in Ciel's mind. Slow, yes, but not in a bad way. The blond never liked rushing around a big city, living a life that was flying you by at top speed. He like the slow life of a small town or a farm.
"Doesn't sound boring to me." Ciel said softly, smiling up at the taller male. "Me? I'm the third of seven children of Sam and Wesley Renault. My dad's family, the Renaults, have lived in Trinity for ages. My mom, Wesley, is a merman from Parinenai, and he doesn't tell us much of anything about his past before Sensaforia. The family business is, as you can guess, the Cliffside Cafe... And, that's about it." The blond explained as the neared the Renault household. "Here we are." The blond said when they reached the front gate. "C'mon. My mom's probably in the library, if I know him. I guess that's where I got my love of books."
