"He's just messing with you," Liam laughed quietly, leaning in and pressing one last kiss against the boy's forehead before straightening, his hand going down to intertwine his fingers with Alex's. "Come on, let's go get whatever he's picked out and get out of here."

Once they were done and walking out he squeezed Liam's hand. "Lets head home..."

(later that night...)

Alex had waited till Rhys was asleep before kissing Liam deeply and bidding him goodnight. "Sleep in the guest room..." he told him before leading him there. Once he had Liam set up in the room he headed to his own. He fell to sleep quickly thinking about his mate but later in the night he started to get nightmares. He screamed in panic as he thrashed in bed, still asleep but scared.

[Ephemerality]

Liam followed Alex to the bedroom without complaint, even though he really wanted to just stay with the bearer. Sex wasn't even on his mind. All he wanted was to hold the boy close, but he figured he wouldn't push it on the kid. The half-breed didn't fall asleep quite so fast, barely even having drifted off when the screaming woke up. Panicked, he rose from his bed and sped down the hall and into Alex's room, coming to rest next to the other on the bed as he pulled him close.

"Shhh, Alex. Wake up," He tried to coax the other from his nightmare, rubbing his back comfortingly, "It's just a dream."

Alex's eyes went wide as he woke with a start and saw Liam. He latched onto him tears falling quickly. "Liam..." he breathed hugging him tight. "Fire...I lost you...I never want to lose you..." He did not even think abut what he was saying he was just too panicked.

[Ephemerality]

Liam's lips turned upwards into a small smile at the boy's words, his head leaning over to rest against the other's. It didn't give him any kind of pleasure to see the boy terrified by a nightmare, but it did make him happy to know that the boy did care deeply about him. He let the boy cry it out for a moment before pulling back slightly until his eyes were leveled on Alex's.

"It's alright. You'll never lose me," He consoled him, leaning in to press a brief, sweet kiss on his lips. When he pulled back, he shifted to pull Alex down to the bed with him. "I'll stay here tonight and hold you, if you want," He said, "Nothing more than that, I promise."

Alex kissed him back gently flushing a bit at his words. "Good...I wanted to tell you...um...what set it off..." He curled with him reaching for his hand frightened. "My parents..." he whispered. "I lost them in a fire...I came back home and the house was on fire..." He closed his eyes as he laid his head on his chest. "I could hear their screams...the servants screams...someone just bolted all the doors and set the house on fire."

[Ephemerality]

Liam let the boy take his hand, though shifted it just slightly so he could thread their fingers together. He listened intently as the boy told him what had triggered the dream, a small pout coming to his lips. For a moment afterwards, he just held the boy before leaning in and pressing a loving kiss against his temple. "I'm so sorry, Alex," He whispered, "I'll never let anything like that happen to you again."

Alex curled closer happy that Liam wanted to protect him. "I'm glad I met you," he whispered. "I feel connected to you."

[Ephemerality]

"Me, too," Liam whispered right back, placing light, soft kisses against the younger boy's forehead, "I've never felt like this with anyone else. I really love you, Alex."

Alex smiled and opened his eyes to look to Liam. He moved closer to shyly kiss his lips, "I...I love you too..."

[Ephemerality]

Liam happily returned the shy kiss and grinned at the other's words, pulling him even closer. "You should get some sleep," He urged, lightly rubbing the boy's back again, "I'll keep you safe."

Alex curled closer to Liam, sighing a bit. "I don't think I could sleep..." he admitted softly. "Maybe we could just talk..."
