Venice rolled over dreamlessly in sleep. He never really slept when he was sleeping anyways. The raiders were always coming around trying to kill him for what little he had. That's also why he liked to stay small, in his faerie form. He could hide just about anywhere in this pile of junk.
The whining howl of a new arrival stirred the air around his small metal can. Venice blinked tired. It was predawn but the area around his can was lit like midday. He took only a second to stretch before he peeked outside. He knew better than to make his presence known to the transport ship. Some of those cruel freighter captains liked to take target practice to a new form.
Venice could hear 2 maybe 3 distinct sects of people converging on him. They, like him, knew better than to come out into the open too soon. They also knew that food and clothes and even possibly water was going to rain down onto their arid and desolate land. So there was going to be another rather large battle for survival about to be waged.
Venice wasn't planning on fighting the groups. Because of his small size, he could survive on very little. He could and often did scrounge for the smallest of leftovers long after the fighting had ceased and the people had left.
As the transport dropped it's load like a fireplane dropped water on a fire, The people came out screaming. Many instantly going into a battle mode. Venice hated moments like this and crounched deep in the back of his old rusted can.

Aeron’s back was pressed close to a pile of boxes, shielding him from the view of the enemy. He was on edge as he waited for the transport ships to dump their load, armed with an old gun that he knew he'd end up using. He closed his eyes, running through the plan in his head. As soon as the load was dumped, Damon and the others would go out from where they were hiding and try to keep the other group occupied while Aeron and a few of the other swifter members would gather supplies.
Aeron tensed when he felt someone come up behind him and place their hand on his shoulder but he relaxed slightly when he recognised Damon’s voice “Don’t do anything stupid Aeron. I want you to come back alive.” Aeron nodded and shrugged of the hand. Damon hesitated slightly before nodding as well and moved into position.
There was silence, each side knowing what was to come, knowing some of them wouldn’t return. Then the load dropped. Aeron waited for Damon and the others to run out before following them but staying low, dodging the bullets that started flying.
He jumped into a dip, shooting the stranger already there. Aeron watched, unaffected as the man’s blood ran out. He was used to it by now; it was kill or be killed. If he didn’t recognise the man, he’ll shoots. Without hesitating, Aeron quickly started to gather the supplies in the area that were salvageable.
Aeron could hear men scream behind him but he ignored them focusing on his task. Things were getting more desperate as the threat of a rising group got closer to their area.

Venice hated the turf wars that followed a drop point. They battled to the death for every minisule scrap of food or clothing. Water usually caused even more death. What was weird and beyond disgusting was the battle over the bodies that occured sometimes. He shivered inside his can and prepared to be kicked around.
Men and boys both SCREAMED in pain and battle. He could smell the gunsmoke and the heady scent of freshly spilt blood. He even felt a thump as someone fell right next to his can. Venice didn't barely breathe or even think about trying to help. It could mean his life as well.
Venice was just decerning who were the possible raiding parties were when he heard another group warcry in the distance. He whinced. The battle cry was distinct and scary. They were the largest group of transients. They were also the most vicious and heartless. He cowered in fear. Why here? Why now?

Once Aeron had gathered all that he could from the area he glanced at the body by his feet. He dropped to his knees quickly searching it for anything he could take. The first thing he took was the gun, then the man’s clothes. Aeron’s eyes widened when he looked in the sack the man was carrying. A few bottles of water, uncontaminated water.
He was jolted from his shock when he heard a cry in the distance. He pressed himself down to the floor, praying he would be overlooked if anyone passed his way. He recognised that cry, it was becoming more frequent. This group were dangerous. They killed anyone and everyone, no prisoners.
“FALL BACK!” Aeron heard Damon shout but he didn’t dare move. He knew there was no way he’d make it back without being shot or even worse, killed. Instead he slowly crawled across the floor, moving to a sheltered part of the dip. Out of clear sight.

Venice is now crying silently, well as silent as one in the middle of a battle scene can cry. The sheer number of panicked blood-curtling screams doubles and he can barely breathe. As the fight for life and food really kicks in, his can is inevitibly bashed, kicked, and even stomped. He is pressing his body tight against the back and sides as it rolls and flies.
Suddenly, his can is stopped and picked up. Venice paniks but doesn't move. He hears a grated voice yell, "MINE!" just before the can is dropped and the being the held it collapses on it. He can see the tattered clothes that cover the chest fight for breath and slowly stop moving. He cries even harder.

Aeron held his breath and froze as he heard a cry above him. The expected thud of a body hitting the ground rang out and Aeron knew the fighting was getting closer. He waited a while until he heard footsteps leave before slowly moving out of his shelter. He dashed out and pulled himself up out of the dip and over to the body. The man had been stripped of the obvious valuables but Aeron still checked to see if anything had been left.
Sweat trickled down his forehead as his eyes quickly scanned the body and area. He needed to hurry before others saw him. His eyes stopped on a can under the body and he quickly snatched it before rushing back to his makeshift shelter. He had no idea if the can had anything of use but the body looked like it was hiding it or had been collecting it and that was enough for Aeron to take it and see if it was anything.
He held it close as he heard more footsteps above him. The fight must have been ending or at least one side was completely wiping out the other if the people above him had tie to stop. They soon moved on wanting to re-group and leave the area. Aeron let out the breath he’d been holding and relaxed slightly but still kept one hand on his gun.

Venice settled down a little bit as the body covering his dented can seemed to sheild him from the war outside. The only time he had to hold his breath again, was when the body was literally stripsearched. But they didn't seem to pay his can any mind.
However, his relaive calm was shortlived. Someone new rolled the already pillaged dead for leftovers. His can was swiped quickly from the ground and hugged tightly by a new possible assailant. This time though, the new2 scavenger was smarter. They ran with Venice's can. He knew they ran becuse the guy didn't peek in and he Venice was thrown around with the quick bouncing.
Venice tried to stay deathly still in the darkness that was the depth of his home. He knew eventually that this new guy was going to try to claim him as food. But then, he could always switch back to his human form and fight forr his very existance.
Now that the running had stopped, Venice prepared to meet his match. He would fight...if it was the last thing he did.

Once he was sure the group was gone, Aeron turned his attention to the can. Now that he got a good look at it he wasn’t sure if there was any food inside. It looked a bit beaten and it was already open both signs to him that someone had got to it first. But he decided to look inside it anyway, just in case there was something.
Aeron lift the lid of the can, careful not to cut himself on the slightly sharp metal and looked inside. His eyes widened as he stared at the small creature that was at the bottom. Out of all the possible things that could have been in the can h had never expected to see a fae in it.
Aeron was silent as he held out his hand, tipping the can so the fae fell out onto the palm of his hand. He continued staring at the small man taking in his appearance, frowning.
“Who are you?” His voice was quiet and full of suspicion; his years on Blanserta had taught him not to trust people.

The dawn was just rising when the lid to his home was peeled back. He frowned deeply when the man's eyes widened in surprise. He just KNEW from that look that the man was going to try to make him a protein packed snack.
Venice was just geting ready to change into his humanoid form when he was dumped out into the dirty man's palm. He tumble side over side and head over heels and landed in the assailant's palm in a dazed 'oooof'.
He was in the process of standing up and trying to fly away when the man holding him asked, "Who are you?"
Venice stopped in mid-standing and glared back, "What is it to you? You invaded my home and have the gall to ask me who I am? I am your grandma's monkey's uncle. That's who I am."
Venice then straightened his wings and leapt off the palm...but instead of gently flying away, he crashed to the man's feet, hard. Thus knocking him out cold.

Aeron was shocked by the man’s outburst, his frown deepened and he opened his mouth to speak when the other decided to try and leave. He prepared to fly away but instead started to fall. Aeron quickly tried to catch the other but he was too late and the other hit the ground, effectively knocking himself out.
Aeron watched him for a while before gathering his bag, making sure he had the water and moved to the edge of the shelter. He could hear voices start to approach and he knew if he didn’t leave know he wouldn’t get another chance.
He was about to leave when he glanced back at the Fae on the ground. He should just leave him, they had no connection and he would only slow him down. As he told himself these things he couldn’t help but look at how fragile the other was. How had he managed to survive?
The voices got louder and Aeron made his decision. He quickly picked the other up and placed him in a pocket of his black pants. He glanced out seeing it was clear before taking off. He stayed close to the ground and shadows as he started to get away from the dump site out into the clear area nearby. He’d try and get to the area Damon had said to meet up if things went wrong.

Venice woke up in a dark but warm place. His head hurt and he felt like vomitting. One thing he did like, it was soft in here...then it hit him...
Where was he?!
Venice knew that wherever he was, it was moving. He could feel the gentle jostling. And by the constant warmth, he knew that he was next to a body, a warm body. The space might have been cramped. But it felt nice.
Venice settled down. His stomach was still quesy and his head was still hurting and he was still in grave danger when whoever it was wanted to dig him out. But for now, he was wrapped up nice and warm in a soft and warm place.
He closed his eyes and fell back into a dreamless but cozy sleep.

It was getting late when Aeron decided they were a safe distance away from the dump site to stop and rest for a bit. He wasn’t going to make it to the meeting place in time, he’d have to head straight to their main base. Aeron looked around for shelter spotting a cave hidden in the cliff face nearby.
He slowly entered the cave, making sure no-one was already there before sitting down, leaning against the wall. His muscles began to ache as he stretched his legs out in front of him. Aeron placed the bag next to him and reached into his pocket, taking out the Fae gently this time.
He held the Fae, careful not to damage his wings. The other appeared to be sleeping and didn’t look hurt from the bumpy ride in his pocket. He placed the Fae down on his knee and took a drink of water from the canteen he was carrying. He wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and watched the small Fae.
“Why did I take you with me?” He asked himself.

"I don't know." Venice answered him clearly. He had been wide awake when he was fished, gently he might add, out of his soft warm hole. He played dead hoping that he would be tossed aside. He hadn't expected to be gently laid out and unabused.
Carefully, he sat up on his perch. His head was still dizzy and throbbing. And his stomach still threatened to lose what little he had. But he did his level best to school his features as he replied, "Though, I do have to thank you. You did save my life. That also means as an honorable, I owe you."

“You don’t owe me anything, I’m not so heartless that I’d leave someone to die.” Aeron paused after his words, knowing they were just an excuss. Maybe it was because of how fragile the other looked. Aeron held out the canteen to the other.
“Are you thirsty? I only have a little left so don’t take too much. Can you change size to drink it or can you drink it in that size?” Aeron knew a little about the different species from his time on Jeskara and a few who were on the planet as well. “I’m staying here for the night, you can stay if you want or leave but I don’t recommend going back to where I found you.”

Venice looked at the water and drooled. He hadn't seen such clean water since his beautiful life on Earth. He whispered, "May I have some? I won't take much, I promise. I'll stay like this. Just put a little bit in the cap." He watched intently as the huge but nice guy complied. He continued to explain, "When I'm small like this, I require very very little food and water. So, I haven't been like you ib so long I don't even remember how. But that doesn't matter anyway. And I still am indebted to you. You did save my life."
Venice's eyes didn't leave the small cap. And his body nearly shook fir that clean pure water. Shakily and with a whine, he stood up getting ready to climb onto it when the other male was done.
