Shiro just nodded and glanced around the cafe. then at jace, "you know Jace, you look like you would do decent work here, you should ask for an application before we leave," he told him, just as the waitress came back with their food. He glanced at Jace then back at her, "Excuse me miss, but are you're hiring? My friend here is out of a job currently, and thinks this place would be nice to work at," he said politely.

The waitress placed their food down on the table and looked over at Jace. She crossed her arms, looking thoughtful for a moment “Hmm, I think we might have an opening as a waiter but I’m not entirely sure. If you want I can go ask the boss.”
Jace nodded and grinned at her “If you’re not too busy.” The waitress blushed slightly and nodded before she turned and headed to the back room to talk to her boss. Jace turned back to Shiro, his grin changing into a small smile “So do you think of me as a friend now?”

Shiro looked surprised by the boy's question, he blinked, "Well I was just helping you out, but then again you haven't done anything to make me think otherwise," he said eying his food, his stomach doing somersaults in dread, but in this heat he needed anything he could get his hands on. "I suppose you can say that, I still think I need a little more time to actually admit it though," he told him truthfully.
As he glared down his food he couldn't help about the meals he used to be able to eat, monstrous meals indeed, but the only things a vampire could stomach. He had lived here for a long time, and he had learned to keep the food down, but it just wasn't the same of getting to enjoy real meal.

Jace smiled as Shiro spoke, glad that the older man was starting to see him as a friend even if he still said he needed some time to admit it. Jace picked up his sandwich and took a bite, savouring the taste. It was good. Better then he thought it would be. As he tucked in, he noticed Shiro hadn’t started to eat. He opened hs mouth to say something when the waitress from before came back.
“We do have an opening if you want to apply. Just send in your application and we should get back to you inviting you to an interview or not.” Jace smiled and thanked her and said he’d come back tomorrow to hand it in. She nodded and left, getting back to work. He turned back to Shiro.
“Is your food alright?”

Shiro looked at his plate the whole time Jace talked to the waitress, the food appetizing to most, made his stomach turn. At times he found himself cursing his race, and other times he cursed the humans, right now though, you could say it was a bit of both. He looked over at Jace's plate, seeing the boy having already taken a bite, he was probably why Shiro hadn't started.
Shiro waited for the waitress to leave when Jace spoke up, "Oh no it's fine, just not as hungry as I thought I was," he said looking back down at his plate. He sighed and took the sandwich into his hand and took a bit about it, his fangs sinking into the bread before Jace could see them. He dabbed his lips as he chewed as swallowed, trying to keep a calm face. "it good," he lied, but he had to eat it anyway.

Jace frowned a little as he watched Shiro eat, he’d always been good at reading people but with Shiro he couldn’t tell straight away what the other was thinking or if he was lying. He decided to try and give Shiro a way out and not make the man feel like he had to eat it because Jace bought it for him “If you’re not hungry don’t force yourself to eat it, I don’t want you to feel sick or anything.”
He continued to eat his own sandwich and he let his thoughts drift back to the books Shiro kept in storage. He couldn’t help but feel like he should give the man something in return, the two weren’t friends yet but still Shiro was helping by letting him take a few books that could help him get over his writers bock. He just didn’t know how to repay him.

Shiro sighed and shook his head, "no it'd be best if I got a little something down, since we'll be in storage all day working, it might not be my cup of tea, but you never know what'll save your life." Shiro took another bight, the meat and bread sitting heavily in his stomach. He sat back from it, and closed his eyes so he could recover. He really, really, hated human food, but it's not like he had an oven big enough to lightly roast a whole swine in it's own juices, and people would start thinking things if he started skinning rabbits in his backyard.
He opening his eyes he glanced at Jace, "Are you alright Jace? You seem to have something on your mind," he asked with a small frown.

Jace paused debating whether or not to ask Shiro. In the end he decided he would, he really wanted to do something for the other so it would be better to just ask him. Jace put his sandwich back down on the plate and looked at Shiro. "I was thinking about how I could thank you for the books. Is there anything I can get you or lend you? You're helping me out so I want to do something in return"
Jace liked Shiro, the man was really interesting and Jace could see them becoming friends in the future. As he watched Shiro he couldn't help but take in the man's appearance more. He felt his cheeks heat, Jace had accepted the fact he was gay and he'd had a few relationships, and as he stared at Shiro he felt an attraction towards the other.

Shiro tilted his head to the side slightly caught off gaurd by the question, "Thank me? You don't need to do that, it's not like they're all priceless family heirlooms," he said offering a small smile. He sat back and thought, a bit, "but if you really want to, I suppose you can come by once a week to help me with my study, and maybe you can also come by and help me with storage," he offered. He tucked a brown curl behind his ear.
"You know Jace, you're the first person I spent time with for more than a couple minutes in about three years," he said looking towards the front of the restaurant. "I'm not a very social person, and tell you the truth, despite me hardly leaving the house, I seem to have developed a bad reputation within the neighborhood." Shiro looked back at his food and took a drink of water, "Maybe seeing you once a week would be good for me."

Jace shook his head to get rid of his earlier thoughts, he wanted to befriend Shiro and anyway he didn’t even know if Shiro was gay. Jace focused on Shiro’s words. “I don’t mind helping out, I’ll do whatever job you want to give me. What are you studying?” Jace continued to eat his sandwich as he listened to Shiro.
Jace wiped his hands on a napkin when he’d finished. Jace frowned when Shiro spoke about his reputation in the neighbourhood. “People shouldn’t jump to conclusions and judge others.” People like that really annoyed Jace, back in his hometown he had to deal with people like that every day. Jace was silent for a while before eventually smiling at Shiro “Anyway, I’m glad you decided to spend some time with me, I really enjoy your company.”

[ i meant "in his study, like rearranging his books XD sorry for the mix up ]
Shiro smiled, "It's alright Jace, I mean I can't say that I don't look suspicious, I mean I usually sat at home in the dark, with all the windows shut, I keep the fire place going, and my furniture looks like it belongs in a mansion, I mean you must have thought it was strange too," he said sipping the water. "They can think what they want, it doesn't bother me one but unless they start coming at me with torches and pitchforks," he sighed.
He eyed his sandwich, knowing he'd have to stomach at least half of that wretched thing before he'd allow himself to leave. He took a bite and took his time swallowing it, fighting his gag reflexes. He finally accomplished his mission, and sighed, sitting back. "Well I guess we should get moving, we still have work to do," he told him, throwing his cape over his shoulders.

(Oh haha sorry my mistake ^^)
“I suppose I did find the fireplace a little strange but also interesting. It suits you in a way.” Jace remained silent after that waiting for Shiro to finish. When he had Jace paid the bill and followed Shiro out to his truck. It didn’t take long for the two to reach the storage and Jace parked the truck again. Once inside Jace looked around at the job they had left. “I can’t imagine how long this must have taken you to do on your own.”
He moved back to shelf he had been working on before they left for lunch and began dusting and sorting out the books. He looked over to Shiro “You don’t mind if I just make a pile of a few I want to borrow while I’m doing this do you?”

Shiro quickly went back to work, wanting to get done so he could have a nice quiet evening at home. He glanced over his shoulder at Jace. "Quite a while indeed, at one point i found myself spending whole nights here," he said finishing up his shelf. The food still sat heavily in his stomach, regretting having eating so much every time he bent over. Turned around, about to move to another shelf when Jace asked something, "I suppose that would be easier, when we're done you can look at the other shelves that we already finished," he told him as he moved a bit farther away and began working again.
Time passed by, the two finding it hard to get to know each other, but found themselves asking the other question after question each time they finished a shelf. The sun began to hide under the horizon, and Shiro had finally one over the nasty lump of bread and meat in his stomach. They were both working on the last shelf this time, both wanting to get done soon. Shiro stood back as he looked Jace over, "Thank you for your assistance, you must be hungry again, come to my place, we can swing by the grocery store on the way back and i can make you a decent meal, I'll be able to pay you back at home, I don't want you eating 'instant ramen' or whatever you call it after doing so much work," he told him putting his hands on his hips.

Jace laughed and stretched his arms above his head. He turned to Shiro grinning “Ok, Thanks, I’d appreciate it. You’re probably right when you say I’d just eat something quick at home.” He picked up the average size pile of books he’d picked out and moved over to the door. “Shall we get going then?” He waited for Shiro to open the door and he went to his truck placing the books in a spare box in the back. Then he got in the truck with Shiro and headed the local grocery shop.
“So what are we having then? I’ll pay for half of the ingredients.” It didn’t take long to get there, with Jace following Shiro’s instructions. He was they had decided to use his truck; it was helping him figure out where everything was, well the important the things he would need soon. He parked the car and got out, raising his hand to shield his eyes from the sun.

[ sorry about the wait >: ]
Shiro glanced over a Jace, "Whatever is on sale I suppose, I wouldn't want to spend all the spare cash you have. I remember seeing that they had lean steaks on special today, I can only hope they aren't all sold out," he told him. He finally was able to sit comfortably without his hood on hid head, the sun now replaced by the moon. They arrived shortly at the grocery store, owned by an old couple, and managed by their son, it wasn't big by any means, it wasn't a big town either. Shiro walked in side and snatched up a basket and walked on through the produce section, grabbing a head of lettuce, a tomato, and some croutons for a simple salad, before heading on to the meats.
"Just keep your eye out for something on sale, I can make anything you want, well except for a pig roast, we'd need to go to the butcher for that," he said as he scanned over everything, frowning seeing that they already sold out on the managers special. 'Another human meal,' his stomach grunting in dread as he thought about it.
