I looked over my shoulder at him, using my tough exterior once more, "I'll be fine..."

I continued walking away into the darkness.

I sighed and slid down the wall. "That could have gone better..."

I planned to return to my home planet in the morning. Hopefully, my meadow will be clear, and I won't have to chase any small creatures out. I walked into the hotel, the one I was currently staying at, lobby and headed for the elevator. I rode up to the fifth floor and walked to my room quietly. Once inside, I walked to the bed and sat down. Gods... Tonight's little shock had me worked up. This is why I don't talk to others. It doesn't work out right, and something happens to get me tense...

I felt a tugging in my heart, pulling me towards... something. I followed the tug, and it led me across town to a small hotel. Strange... I went inside, and followed my heart to the fifth floor and room 566. I knocked on the door, and was surprised to see Kardama standing in the doorway. So he is my mate.

"Kardama. Can I come in?"

[kyaarisa]

I jumped at the sound of his voice. Holy-! I stood up and sighed, walking over to the door and opening up the door. My eyes found his in an instant. "You followed me back to my hotel?"

[Lizzy the Fluff Master]

"No. I followed a tug from my heart and it led me here. Kardama, I know we've just met, but already I can't imagine a life without you. I think I'm falling for you..."

[kyaarisa]

I stared at him for a few moments, trying to comprehend if this was a joke or not. Not only did someone actually talk to me in a bar, the SAME ONE followed me to my hotel and is telling me he's in love with me. What the...? I blinked when he stepped closer to me. I took a step back out of habit. I looked up into his eyes.

A warm, fuzzy feeling swelled in the pit of my stomach. He is good looking though...

I saw him back up.

"Dama. The Kard of Love has been played by Fate, and I've fallen for you."

[kyaarisa]

I looked down. I didn't know what to say to that. I looked back up at him through my lashes. He had gotten closer again....

I tilted his head up to mine, and kissed him gently on the lips.

[kyaarisa]

The thrum that flowed through my body at that one kiss... It felt like time slowed. I found myself kissing back just as gently. Realizing what I was doing, I pulled away quickly but ended up kissing him again. That hurt look that had crossed his face when I had pulled away. I didn't like seeing it.

Eventually, I pulled away for air.

"Dama, if I can call you that. Would you stay with me?"

I thought back to the meadow. My meadow... It almost seemed pitiful next to him, but...it had been my home for so long. It was the place that I was my true self. I felt torn. So many memories were in that meadow... Lonely memories but still memories. I slowly sat down on the couch, thinking quietly.

I sat down next to him.

"Take all the time you need."

[kyaarisa]

"When....When you say here with you.... You mean here. On this planet, right? Well... I need to... I feel like I need to say goodbye to my home before I do anything..." I kept my voice low and soft. I still wasn't sure about the 'Card of Love' thing. I'd have to spend more time with him....
