The Need to Get High (Petros/Cloudaeis)

I stared at where he disappeared. My world seemed so small now. I didn't realize I was crying until I looked to the mirror. The golden tan of my cheeks glistened with the wetness. Pain coursed through me in a steady stream. I can't go back to that table and act like nothing happened. I walked out of the bathroom and left. My brother is going to be mad, but I'll have to explain later. Maybe...

I ran home as fast as I could as soon as I exited the resturant.

For awhile the dinner continued as before until the absence of Clou not only weighed on my mind, but his brother's as well. Half-way through the meal he went to look for Clou but came back as he left, alone. He was slightly panicked but looked to be in control for the most part. After giving a rushed explanation as to why he needed to leave early, I assured him it was fine, he rushed off to see if his brother had gone home. 'Feh, what a troublesome brat. Who has a mental breakdown in the middle of a business dinner? The kid will never be useful as far as business goes. It is best to drop this whole mate thing a pretend it never happened.' With this in mind I paid the check and left for the hotel I was to be staying at for the duration of my stay.

I stay curled in my bed, sobbing. I hate this! I figured my mate would be some sweet guy who was going to be there for me and always want me, and I would be the perfect mate for them! He practically told me he doesn't want me! I curled up tighter.

I was in my leopard form by the time my brother walked in. I refused to look at him when he asked me what had happened. I shook my head, depression too deeply set in. My brother made me lift my head to look into his eyes. A furious glint sparked in his eyes. He walked out swiftly, calling for our fathers to tell them what was going on.

My fathers rushed in to ask me who it was, but I shook my head. I can't tell them. They'll go crazy...

After what seemed like hours, they finally left me alone.

Once in my hotel I laid down on the bed and began looking through some company files. While trying to decide what connection I should use, if this partnership fell through, my mind began to wander toward Clou. Was he ok? WHat was the matter with him? Did he always make a big deal of nothing? These thoughts and many more passed through my mind at the speed of light, or so it seemed.

I woke up the next morning to grey light. The morning light is usually white and blinding, but today, it is grey. I sighed softly and sat up. I went through most of the day like, as my brother describes it, a 'zombie'. Apparently a word he picked up the one time he went to Earth.

I am on the livingroom couch when my father, the mother side, suggested that I take a walk for fresh air. I'd usually argue about how excercise would end up killing me because my heart would pump to fast, and then, I'd have a heart attack. Today, I just nodded quietly and walked out the door. Obeying, without question, my mother for the first time since I learned the word 'no'.

When I awoke I found that I had passed out while managing my company's funds, as usual. I got up, did my normal routine for mornings, then left for the local gym. I had a reservation for a personal room so that I could train via computer with my trainer from back home. I decided to walk there since it was nice out and the exercise wouldn't hurt. On my way there I began to think over what specific muscles I wanted to target today.

I was so caught up in my thoughts that I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. When I looked up and started taking notice of my surroundings, I found myself in the main area of business. I almost pouted at the reminders before noticing a quite handsome guy walking towards me. I stopped and looked up at him. We began talking, and I flirted lightly to try and cheer myself up. I ended up with heated cheeks as he flirted back casually. It's nice to know that I'm at least attractive even though I'm so called 'worthless'.

As I walked I heard a familiar voice that brought me out of my thoughts. Looking up I see Clou flirting with some guy, who was flirting back. A surge of jealousy crashed through me and with a possessive growl I stormed over to them. Grabbing Clou by the wrist, I tugged him roughly behind me.

"I suggest you run and get your own mate before I drain you of money and blood." With wide eyes the man ran off, not even glancing back. I turned and began down the pavement, dragging Clou behind me, until I found an empty alleyway where we could talk. I pushed him inside and towered over him. With my eyes burning in fury I dared him to try and find an excuse for his little stunt back there.

I glared up at him, feeling slight brave for once, "So NOW you want to call me your mate? Last time I checked, I wasn't marked."

"Just because you are not marked does not make you any less mine. What, did you want me to bend you over and claim you on the dinner table for your brother to watch?" I growled, slightly surprised I used such crude language. I stepped forward and trapped him between the wall and myself. Staring down at him I let loose a possessive growl once more and bent so that I was simply an inch or two from his face.

"You are mine and mine alone. Whether I decide I want you or not is of no concern to you. There is to be no question as to who you belong to. I am the only one whom you can treat like you were treating that insect back there. Got it?"

As soon as he began speaking again, I was losing my confidence. My ears and tail were exposed, ears back and tail swishing with nervousness. My amber eyes stayed on his. It's funny how this is threatening but completely sexy at the same time. I kept quiet, still slight mad at him for what he had said the other night.

When the boy said no more I gave a curt nod and backed away a bit. After a moment of internal debate I decided to bring the brat to the gym with me. It was easier than wondering if he was out flirting again. Plus it could earn a few extra points with his brither if I were to watch the kid.

"Come on. The gym is just up ahead."

My ears perked up a bit. He actually wanted to be around me? I nearly smiled. Nearly! I followed behind him with a small happiness inside of me.

We arrived at the Gym and were led straight to my personal room where my trainer was waiting on the computer screen.

"Good morning Hexit. This is Clou, he will be joining us today."

"It is lovely to meet you Clou. I hope you are ready to work up a sweat!" Hexit's cheerful face grinned widely as Clou crinkled his nose at the mention of sweat. I rolled my eyes and began to take off the loose clothing I wore over my tight fitting sweatsuit.

I couldn't help it. I stared at him. Him and tight sweatsuits were an amazing combination. I blinked when he waved to get my attention. My cheeks heated up. I couldn't have been that obvious! I heard the trainer laugh.
